All Aboard!

November 27, 2021

Hello all, Jackie here today with this interactive Christmas train card using the new whimsical winter collection Holiday Train and Carts. This fun train can be spun around the sentiment so if you fancy creating something a little different then lets get started.

Step One:

Start by ink blending the whole front of an 8×8″ white card blank using distress oxide inks Tumbled glass and Broken China. Flick some splatters of white paint over the top creating snow then glue a small coin to the very centre and set aside to dry.

Step Two:

To make the spinner parts, die cut the circular frames as pictured below. Here I have used circle die sizes as follows – thin frame – 3 3/4″ and 3″ fatter frame – 3 1/4″ and 3/4″. Note the 3/4″ fits nicely around my small coin, you may have to adjust this to fit your chosen coin.

Step Three:

Glue the two frames together with the thinner one at the top. Build up the train and carts then attach them around the very edge.

Step Four:

Die cut two more circles using a 3 1/4 die, stamp out and white heat emboss the sentiment then dot a border around the edge using a white glaze pen before attaching the two die cut circles together for added stability.

Step Five:

Place the train over the coin slotting into the centre hole, adhere two smaller die cut circles to the coin ensuring to keep the glue only on the coin.

Step Six:

Finish off by fixing the sentiment in place with glue on top of the white die cut circles, the train should now be able to spin.

Thankyou for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to have a go at this interactive design.

Happy crafting – Jackie

So very cute. I just received my train and am so excited to start cutting, but I have another project I have to do first.
