Sweet treats!

March 10, 2022

Hello All, Jackie here today with a sweet twist on the new carrot gift boxes, I thought these would make lovely treat boxes for birthday parties, weddings favours or just as a tasty treat for a loved one. You could make a whole round cake with each slice a different flavour.

Step One:

Using a cream coloured card, make up the carrot gift box as normal then use the box to draw around on to a scrap piece of textured paper.

Step Two:

Draw a wiggly line around the triangular carrot shape, use the photo below to see where I have drawn then cut out the piece and score along the straight lines. Glue this to the top of the carrot box ensuring the box end opens upwards.

Step Three:

Use a red pen to draw a jam line along the middle.

Step Four:

Use the flower die from the Easter Basket set 1932 and cut a hand full of flowers to use as piped icing. fold each flower in half and glue one inside the other just along the underside of the centre fold.

Step Five:

Glue the icing in four rows along the cake top again just gluing just fold line.

Step Six:

Create a few strawberries using the nut die from the Squirrel set 1930, use some red and green ink for added texture then finish off by adding a few white dots with a gel pen.

Step Seven:

Add a few strawberries to the iced top.

Step Eight:

Make a tie hanger for the end, use some red and white bakers twine along with some thin green twine then punch two tiny holes into another strawberry and thread on to the twine hanger before adding to the gift box.

You can make all sorts of different flavours, I hope to see a few different variations over on the facebook group pages.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope I have inspired you to do a little paper baking!

Happy crafting – Jackie
