Lemonade cart

April 27, 2022

Hello all.. Jackie here for today’s blog post. I am so pleased that spring is finally here and we are starting to see some sunshine which has inspired me to create this sunny looking card for you today. I have used the wooden trailer – 1909 Hay Ride – to create this lemonade cart plus there are also a few bits of hand drawn fussy cutting to do. So lets get started.

Step One:

Start by die cutting all the pieces for the cart, the photo below shows all the pieces I have used. Where you can see more than one of the same piece I have doubled up and glued together to add some texture to the finished cart. You will need to die cut the same pieces to create the roof and the bottom, then use this same die to cut the three coloured panels into different coloured cardstock.

Step Two:

Continue to build the cart up. You will need to cut two thin side bars measuring approximately 1/8th x 2.75″ which will be glued either side from the base to the roof. The bunting, lemons, soda cups and signs are all fussy cut apart from the straws and sign stick (these are the waste pieces from the cart base die)

Step Three:

Ink a pale blue circle in the centre of a 5×5″ white card panel, I used distress oxide tumbled glass and a domed blending tool. Offer the cart up to the inked circle to see where the wheels will sit, then draw a few black lines with squiggles to ground the cart, fix the prepared panel to the front of a top folding turquoise card blank measuring 5.25 x 5.25″ but do not fix the cart in place yet.

Step Four:

Next die cut the bunny, you will not need the legs as you will not see them. build up the bunny as normal and add rosy cheeks using pale pink ink, I used distress ink spun sugar and a finger dauber. Draw on some whiskers and add a tiny white dot to each eye then fix the bunny in place before attaching the finished cart to the card front.

I have chosen not to add a sentiment but you could add whatever sentiment you like, this would suit quite a few different occasions. You could also switch up the design and make a number of different cart’s like sweets, hotdogs and burgers or even fresh fruit and veg.

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you have found some inspiration from this design.

See you soon and happy crafting – Jackie x

What an adorable card! The bunny is so cute and the lemonade cart is perfect. I also love your hand-cut lemons and the lemonade cups. Thank you for sharing this creation.
