Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. I have had this idea in my head ever since I first saw the Warm Winter Mug was being released
Preparation:
Cut 3 Mugs. Decorate one mug, I used Double Sided adhesive and Silk Microfine Glitter. Cut 3 stripes of cardstock. 2 strips measuring 2” x 1 ½” and one strip measuring 1 ½” x 1 ½”, Score each strip at ½”, ¾”, and 1”. Also cut a banner to stamp the sentiment from the Holiday Treats stamp set.
Instructions:
Add double sided adhesive to the outer edges of the cardstock strips. Fold the strips making a mountain, then valley, and then mountain
Adhere one side of each to the strips to the back of one cumug. Place the strip measuring 1 ½” x 1 ½” at the base of the mug and the two measuring 2” x 1 ½” to each of the sides of the mug
Adhere the other side of the scored strips to the other die cut mug. I found it easiest to line up the two mugs and adhere the bottom strip first
Adhere the side strips to the second mug
Adhere the decorated mug to the front of the mug pouch that was just created
Stamp the sentiment to the die cut banner. I like to use the negative to create a template that I can place the banner in and stamp perfectly every time. This time save comes in handy when making multiple sentiment banners. Also, because the stamps are flexible, you can manipulate how the stamp adheres to your stamping platform to follow the curves of the banner.
Adhere the sentiment banner to the mug pouch. Add a packet of hot cocoa and the perfect little gift.

What a creative way to use the cups. I’ve used the older cups as Xmas gift tags, but didn’t think to make a pocket, which is ingenious. I LOVE the way you shaded the marshmallows. They look real.
What a great little gift! I’ve used the old chocolate mug to make gift tags, but didn’t think to create a pocket for a cocoa packet. I LOVE the shading on the marshmallows – the look real.
Oh so clever, cute and delicious!!!
