Gift Card Tag

November 16, 2022

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. I love giving gift cards to friend and family, however, they can be impersonal. I decided to use the new tag die set and the Birthday Flip Card die set to make a tag card with a gift card holder

Preparation:

Cut and decorate a mug from the Warm Winter Mug die set. Also gather a piece for card stock 8 1/2″ x 11″ and score at 5 1/2″.

Using the largest tag from the Nested Tags die set. Line the tag up with the edge of the cardstock fold and tape into place

Make sure that when taping the die into place, line up one edge of the die with outside of the fold so that the fold does not cut when run through the die cutting machine

Using the second largest tag die, cut a piece of patterned cardstock

Using the same second largest tag die, add the gift card holder die from the Birthday Flip Card die set. I have secured with some post it tape so that it does not shift when being cut. Use the tag to die cut a solid piece of cardstock

Trim the tag end of the two pieces just cut to make the even across

adhere the patterned cardstock to the front of the tag card. Also add reinforcers cut using the Nested Tags die set. Adhere the decorated Warm Winter Mug to the front of the card.

On the inside of the card, adhere the solid cardstock piece with the gift card cut out. Stamp a sentiment to the left inside panel from the Holiday Treats stamp set

As an alternative to a tag card, the same can be used to create a tag with the gift card holder as well. The front of the tag has a Holiday Stocking

On the back, I have adhered a piece for cut cardstock with the gift card holder cut in it. Stamp a sentiment from the Holiday Treats stamp set. For this tag, I stamped the sentiment on a die cut from the Book Box die set.

Here are a few of the tags that I created with these techniques
