Hello everyone. Jackie here today with my last blog post for 2022, I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy crafty 2023!
Today I have kept things quite simple with a pretty inky background created using distress oxide inks and water and I have made my own stamp using the snowflake die!!
Step One:
Ink blend the whole front of a piece of A2 white card, here I have used three shades of blue ink but feel free to use which colours you prefer. Don’t worry to much about a perfect blend as we will be adding water later.
Step Two:
Die cut the snowflake into some fun foam, use at least 2mm fun foam to give a good impression. Attach the foam snowflake to an acrylic block using some double sided tape.
Step Three:
Spritz the prepared foam stamp with water then press into the inked background, push down for a few seconds then lift off the stamp. repeat all over the inked panel creating a snowflake pattern. Don’t worry if you get a few splash marks this will add to the effect.
Step Four:
Use a stitched rectangle die to cut down the background then fix the panel to the front of a top folding card blank using 3d foam pads.
Step Five:
Die cut the deer three times from white card then glue them altogether creating a sturdy topper, glue this to the card front then add a tiny red die cut heart.
Step Six:
White heat emboss the sentiment to black card before trimming down to a thin banner. Fix the sentiment in place using more 3d foam pads then add a few sequins and a splash of white craft drops to finish.
Quite a simple design today, I love the pop of red against the blue and white on this one. I hope you have been inspired to give this water/ink technic a go and I hopefully see some designs over on the family group. Happy crafting – Jackie x
