Fireplace Valentine

December 30, 2022

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. Valentines day is quickly approaching so I thought that it is the perfect time to get started on my cards.

For this project, you will needs watercolor cardstock, a piece of dark grey cardstock, pieces of cardstock in classic Valentines Colors, a piece of yellow cardstock, a piece of light brown cardstock, a piece of white cardstock measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″, an A2 card base in white ,and a piece of pink cardstock measuring 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. This project is a great way to use up some scraps.

Instructions:
Spray a piece of watercolor cardstock with ink sprays. I have also added some sprays that have some shimmer to them

Using the brickwork dies in the Cozy Fireplace die set, cut pieces from the watercolor cardstock. Also, using the base pieces, cut the top and bottom of the die and trim off, as well as cut the thin piece from the chimney base

Die cut the fireplace base pieces from dark grey cardstock and adhere the piece from the watercolor cardstock. Cut the flames from yellow cardstock and the logs from the light brown cardstock. I have inked the edges of the flame with Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink and the logs with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. On the logs, I did mask off the circle ends before coloring with ink.

Using the Valentines colors of cardstock, cut hearts from the Elephant die set and hearts from the Planner Essentials 20 die set. Using then Photo Film Slides, cut a piece of light pink cardstock. Using the center piece, stamp the sentiment from the Cute Winter Sentiments stamp set. Here I have also inked the edges with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.

Using the white cardstock piece measuring 4″x 5 1/4″, in the center with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink then just outside of that ink, blend some Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink

Adhere the fireplace to the blended card front

Adhere the die cut heart and sentiment to the fireplace

Adhere the fireplace piece to the pink cardstock, and then the panel to the card base and the card is complete
