Donuts and More Donuts

March 17, 2023

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. I love playing with the donut die in the Food Truck Accessories die set.

Preparation:

Cut a piece of kraft cardstock using the second largest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles die. Cut another piece of green cardstock using the stitched die from the Book Box die, Cut a piece of white alcohol coloring cardstock measuring 4 1/4″ ” x 5 1/2″. From the Food Truck Accessories, cut, color, and assemble 3 of the large. donuts. I like to put post-it tape to the underside of the die cut to hold it in place while I color the objects.

Instructions:
Using the donut from the stamp set, randomly stamp the donut on the piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of white alcohol safe cardstock. I did cut the words of the donut so that I has some plain donuts and some that said “DONUT WORRY” on them.

Color the donuts using alcohol markers. I have used a Micron pen for my sprinkles

Stamp the sentiment from the stamp set to the back side of the die cut banner. I like to use the negative to create a template that I can place the banner in and stamp perfectly every time. This time save comes in handy when making multiple sentiment banners. Also, because the stamps are flexible, you can manipulate how the stamp adheres to your stamping platform to follow the curves of the banner.

Once the coloring is completed, die cut the piece using the second largest fitted rectangle die from the Fitted Rectangle die set. Then using the three circles from the Sidekick Essentials 23 die set, the circles out of the rectangle just created.

Adhere the thin frame created when the rectangle was cut to the card base which is a standard A2 card base.

Adhere kraft cardstock layer and then the rectangle with the circle cut outs to the card. I have also added foam tape to the back of the donuts

Adhere the donuts into the circles on the card. The top donut had a Glaze pen used to give it a shiny look. The middle donut has Clear Silk Microfine Glitter sprinkled over translucent gel medium for a frosting look.

Fold the banner by following the score lines and adhere to the front of the card. I inked the edges with the same Toffee Crunch ink. I also added a little bit of foam tape to the banner for additional dimension
