Joset Designs

Watermelon seller

April 17, 2023

Hello again, Jackie here sharing a very cute card made using one of my favourite characters the raccoon! I do say that about a lot of Joset’s character dies but this raccoon is truly adorable. However you could easily use whichever is your favourite.

Step One:

Start with a white card blank measuring 5.25″ x 5.25″ ink blend in the centre, I used distress oxide tumbled glass then swipe across the bottom creating a sort of road, here I used distress ink cube hickory smoke.

Step Two:

Next create the cart, you will have to forgive me here because I changed the hub caps at the last minuet, here they are green but I changed them to brown in the end.

Use a large circular die to create the umbrella top, die cut into green card then use green coloured marker pens to make the water melon markings then add a little dark green ink around the curved edge. Add a strip of scalloped edge along the bottom then glue the die cut broomstick in place. Die cut and build the cart as normal and fix the prepared umbrella in the center.

Step Three:

Stamp out the sentiment using versafine onyx black ink, here I have used an older stamp set CS067 banner sentiments but you could use what ever you have in your stash. I do like the way the sentiment curves around the umbrella top. Fix the cart in place using 3d foam pads.

Step Four:

Die cut the watermelon halves adding the dark green ink around the curved edges, create some unsliced watermelons following the step for the umbrella top. Die cut and build the raccoon as normal adding rosy cheeks with a little distress ink in spun sugar and grey ink around the edges then add white gel pen to his cheeks and nose.

Step Five:

Add the watermelons to the cart, try and hide the unsliced melons so they look like whole melons then attach a fussy cut tiny price tag. Lastly fix the raccoon in place using more 3d foam pads.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to create your own watermelon seller!

Happy crafting – Jackie x
