Pretty Poinsettia Christmas Card

November 7, 2018

Hi, It’s Kelly Booth here with you today with a simple Christmas card in traditional colors that can be easily duplicated.

Step 1 – Onto the smooth side of a small piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock stamp the poinsettia from the Poinsettia Clear Stamp set with marker-compatible black dye ink.  Color the poinsettia using markers of choice. (Shown: Copics). Wet a piece of terrycloth (an old towel or face cloth) with a bit of Copic Colorless Blending Fluid and pounce onto the flower to add texture. Use a fine nib black pen to sharpen up any lines that need to be brightened. Die cut the poinsettia with the matching die. Use Kids Choice Glue to secure a few Green Prills in the center. Set aside to dry.

Step 2 – Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock to 5″1/4″ by 10″1/2, score in the center and fold to create a 5″1/4 by 5″1/4″ square card base.

Step 3 – Die cut a 5″1/2″ by 5″1/2″ piece of red cardstock with the largest Stitched Squares die.

Step 4 – Place the 3″1/2″ inch circle die from Garden Notes Frame It/Stitched Circles set in the center of this square and secure with removable tape; die cut to create a window.

Step 5 – Using the same circle as above and a piece of the green dot pattern paper from the ModaScrap – Thinking About Rio De Janeiro paper pack, cut another circle.

Step 6 – Cut the words Season’s Greetings from a scrap of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Pieces are shown in the photos below.

Step 7 – Place Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back of the red square; adhere to the card base. Adhere the dot pattern circle inside the frame.

Step 8 – Using a toothpick and a little Kids Choice Glue, adhere Season’s Greetings (one word at the top, the other at the bottom).

Step 9 – Using a pop dot or foam tape to add dimension, adhere the poinsettia.

Your card is now finished.
