Sneak Peek of Holiday Fun

October 14, 2022

Karen here. I’m jazzed today to be sharing a fun sneak peek of a amazing new collection from Joset – coming SOON to online and brick-and-mortar stores near you! It’s a fun new holiday release that’ll surely make you warm and cozy as you create holiday projects!

I absolutely love this new Fireplace set. I added a sentiment from the new set and though “believe” said it all as Santa Claus attempts to make his way into the house through the fireplace. The Fireplace and Santa Claus legs are mounted on a Rounded Stitched Rectangle.

I used 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock to create this card. The fireplace on top cardstock was dipped in Distress Oxide Inks of Fired Brick and Worn Lipstick. Then I added 101mm Double Sided Adhesive to another piece of cardstock dipped in Fired Brick and Vintage Photo to create the brick around the fireplace. Having the adhesive on the back sure makes adding the pieces to the fireplace easy! After I started this, I re-did the mantel to be all Vintage Photo.

Eek, I love this new Cook Stove! Again, I used one of the new stamps for a sentiment. I cut the brown and black pieces from other cardstock. The doors of the stove were cut from grey cardstock with double sided adhesive. Easy to put together and warm and cozy. Perfect!

Thanks for checking out these cards. Can’t wait for you all to see the whole collection. It’s so fab!

Joset Designs Planner Essentials Scrapbooking

Chickens, Chickens, Everywhere

September 27, 2022

Karen here today sharing a couple “scrapbook” Planner Essentials pages where I added elements from the Joset Designs and Art Journal lines. So fun to mix up these products; they go together so well. My guy and I went to Kauai earlier this summer. Because of Hurricane Iniki many years ago, there were some chicken rance fences that blew down, and now there are wild, free chickens pretty much everywhere on the island. I created a Sidekick Essentials page for my “him n me” album and a Planner Essentials page for my “places I’ve been” album.

First up is the Planner Essentials 6 page. This is a great base for pages; I love the chevron pattern up the side. The letters are from Planner Essentials 23. I added the Rooster from the Hen & Rooster set as an embellishment to this page.

On top of adding a hen to this page, I also added a palm tree from the Summer Journal Special. How fun of a combination (i.e. the chicken and the tree!!). I also added some reinforcements from the Reinforcement Variety Pack 1 and/or 2.

For my Sidekick page, I used the Sidekick Essentials 6 set for the page base and adhered the Sidekick Essentials 18 to it by cutting it with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive. The sentiment at the top is from the Vacay Phrases set.

The Sidekick Essentials 18 set is awesome for having an extra pocket for storing several pictures. FOr these, I just put them on a lighter version of my rainbow patterned paper and then rounded two of the corners.

On the back, I added a couple large leaves and flip flops from the Summer Journals Special.

Thank you for checking out my pages today.

Christmas Monsters

September 9, 2022

Karen here. I’m full on into Christmas Card making mode! I love creating them and love sending them, but if I wait until the last minute, it’s all too much! I used the Birthday Flip Card dies to create these fun and interactive gift card holders for the holidays!

I love how the Birthday Flip Card die makes an easy and interactive card. (The die cuts and scores for you!) The base is cut from 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. I also used the Monster 2 without his bottom oval. I added the little monster embellishments on his tummy and then edged it a little bit with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The sentiment is from the Cute Winter Sentiments set.

On the inside, the die set will cut the gift card holder piece to make gift giving easy!

On the second card (also cut from 90 lbs Soft Finish Cardstock on the base, I used the Monster 3 die. In both of my monsters, I cut the top pieces (like the eyes and teeth) with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive on the cardstock first. How sweet is he!?

Thank you for stopping by today!

Monsters at Christmas

August 26, 2022

Karen here. I absolutely love the Monster Party dies designed by Joset. I am showcasing a holiday card made with the monsters and the pop-up dies.

On the front of the card, I created a mixed monster. Most of it is from the Monster 3 set, but I added an extra set of eyes from the Monster 2. I cut darker blue parts from a dark blue and edged it with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The feet and arms were cut with 90 lbs Soft Finish Cardstock and then I daubered them with both Salty Ocean and Vintage Photo distress inks. On the eyes and teeth, I added 101mm Double Sided Adhesive to make them easy to apply. The hat is from the Gnomes dies. On the front, I also used Fitted and Stitched Circle dies.

On the inside, I added a Garbage Can die cut (that I cut a bit shorter to fit) with a Monster 1 coming out of the top. On both of my monsters, I modified the teeth to be less teeth by cutting them before putting them in. Of all the fun elements of these monsters, I love that you can really get creative with them to create all sorts of options. The tree is from the Sleigh dies, and this monster has a hat from the Winter Accessories set. The sentiment is from the Cute Winter Sentiments and is cut with a Stitched Rounded Rectangle. I also used the new General Pop Ups to create dimension.

How fun are these pop-ups!?! That’s all for today. Thank you for stopping by!

Monster-fied Critters

August 12, 2022

Hi, Karen here today. For today’s post, I decided to “monster-fy” a couple of Joset’s other critters. I made the funniest dog and a very unusual elephant as the centerpieces for some fun cards.

First up, I used the Dog die set to create this funny little critter. The face is from the Monster 2 set. I put the head with the eyes, nose, ears and body from the Dog. I love how silly he looks. I used Kraft cardstock for most of the pieces (except the eyes and teeth which are 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. The dog is framed by a Stitched Circle Die. Using 101mm behind pieces like the eyes before diecutting makes them so easy to adhere.

The face, ears, legs and body are edged with a tiny bit of Tea Dye Distress Ink. The collar is colored with a Copic Marker as is the tag and eyes.

I used all of the pieces of the Elephant die except I turned the body sideways to make him unusually skinny. haha I also used the head and horns from the Monster 1 die set.

I cut most of the pieces with very light grey cardstock and edged them with a bit of Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. The ears are cut from 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock and are colored with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink. The eyes and ears are cut using 101mm Double Sided Adhesive to make them easy to put together! I used the Monster Hugs stamps on both cards.

Thank you for stopping by!

Splash Attack

July 29, 2022

Karen here. I am having such a fun time with the Monster Party dies and decided to recreate the Whale as a monster as an embellishment to my splash attack day scrapbook/planner page. My boyfriend’s dog loves to bite at the splashes and has a really sweet underbite, so I thought this whale monster fit perfectly.

First thing I did was create the waves and this sweet monster. For all of it, I used 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. The monster is a combination of the Whale (body and fins) and the Monster 1 (face). I used Black Soot distress ink to color him up and cut the teeth in “half” and turned them upside down to create the underbite. The cut the eyes and teeth with the 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock backed with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive to make them easy to adhere. The waves are cut from the Ocean Edges dies after coloring up the paper by smooshing it into distress oxide inks in Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon. The waves crashed over the whole on the planner page, so I just repunched it after attaching them in layers.

I added my splash monster and wave embellishments to a Planner Essentials 2 page cut from dark blue cardstock. The letters on this page are from Planner Essentials 37. I used scrap pieces I had from the Mystical Winter paper to add a bit of pattern to the page. The page tab is from the Planner Essential 4 set and are stamped with a stamp from the Moods set.

More fun on the back of the page. For the journaling here, I printed the journal and cut with a die from the Planner Label set. And, of course, I had to add some fun reinforcements to finish up my pages.

My Eyes on You

July 15, 2022

Karen here with a super fun creation using dies from the new monster designs by Joset. These monsters are SO fun, and the sentiments to go with them are just perfect!

I die cut the Birthday Flip Card from 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. The die cuts and scores in all the right places to make the rest of the card so easy to make. The green flower cardstock are also cut with dies that are part of the set, and I just taped them to some pink cardstock and fussy cut a tiny edge.

All of the eyes are different eyes from the monsters. I cut them with 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock and colored the “black” in with a very dark grey copic. To make them easy to apply, I cut them all out with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive. I sometimes added a white or black gel pen dot to the middles of the eyes.

on the inside of the flip, I put one of the Monster 1s. How cute is he? The sentiment from the new Monster Hugs set, I thought, was perfect with this card!

In The Jungle

June 17, 2022

Karen here. I’m creating a Planner Essentials book of my guy’s dog as a present to him. Sadie! She absolutely loves going through long walks and wanders through the tall grass trying to find critters to chase. I thought I’d use the Slimline Adventure Edges to create grass on the edge of my planner page!

I created the page by cutting a Planner Essentials 4 die using beige cardstock. I then put the Slimline Adventure Edges (Grass) and cut the edge. I also cut the edge from a pretty green cardstock that i had and trimmed it up close. I added the green die cuts to the edges on both sides of the planner pages.

I love how it came out. I also added with embellishment die cuts from the Floral Insert and Flower Power. I used a multiliner pen to outline the flowers. The letters are from the Planner Essentials 23. Cutting the letters and flowers with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive is so helpful in ensuring that these items with such thin lines are easy to adhere.

The back of the beige cardstock was dark grey. I love how the pretty purples and greens pop on this side including the fun reinforcements from the Reinforcement Variety Packs 1 and 2.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Inky Fun

June 3, 2022

Karen here today. I’m sharing a couple cards I made today using two of the fun product lines available here at Elizabeth Craft Designs. In both, I created a simple and easy inky background. In one, I added one of the critters available in the Joset’s Designs line as a Christmas card. in the other, I created a birthday card using a die from Anita’s Floral line.

This first card is a fun, quick Christmas Card. Below, I posted a picture of the inks that I used. They glide so smoothly on the 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock that I used. So pretty. I created the Penguin using black cardstock and more of the Soft Finish Cardstock and put him on a Stitched and Fitted Circle. For the penguin feet and nose, I used an orange Copic, and I used the same ink on the background as I did for the hat. The sentiment is from the Cute Winter Sentiments set.

Another simple and yet elegant card – I love the colors on this card. I kept the Fern die cut white as I felt it really helped the background colors to pop. The sentiment is from the Smell the Flowers set.

Again, the blending on this beautiful Soft Finish Cardstock is so good and effortless. Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to check out all of the amazing products.

Is it Christmas Yet?

May 20, 2022

Karen here. I love doing holiday cards, and the best dies for holiday cards are here at Elizabeth Craft Designs. Is May too soon to start making our holiday projects? I think not!

I used the adorable Winter Bird in this card along with a sentiment from the Cute Winter Sentiments to create this card. The branch is colored with a brown Copic marker, and the legs and beak are colored with an orange Copic. The bird has distress inks in Festive Berries, Salty Ocean, and Tumbled Glass. I added some punched silvery stars and half beeds for some extra interest. How cute is that birdie??

For this card, I used the Hay Ride dies to create the fun Christmas Cart and added tress and presents from the Sleigh dies! I cut the pieces of this one in colored cardstock. Again, I used the Cute Winter Sentiments. In both cards, the card front is cut with a Stitched Rectangle die using 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock.

Thank you for stopping by today!
