July 13, 2022

Hello crafty friends, I am bringing in the Monsters both Christmas and Birthday for todays blog post!! These cute tags come with a bit of a twist as the Birthday Tag is a small Garbage Can pop-up card. I hope you enjoy todays post and lets get stared!

Step 1: Out of dark grey card stock cut 4 x 11 & score in half, cut your card by laying the garbage can die just above the fold line, then run it through your machine. Next out of light grey cardstock cut out your garbage can and lid, I also created a handle by re-cutting the lid from black cardstock then I trimmed the handle and adhered it the the light grey handle.

Step 2: Line the pop-up die along the score line of your garbage can card and run it through your machine to create the pop-out. See picture below.

Step 3: out of Josets cute Monster sets cut both creatures from red, orange and other coordinating cardstock. I inked all my edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and assembled. Next I cut out the balloon, stars, cake, birthday hat and party pieces ink and assembled.

Step 4: Create your card front by attaching all your creatures as per picture above using your favorite adhesive.

I added some glossy accents to the stars and the top of his Birthday hat.

Step 5: I added my cake, party favors and quote from the Monster Hugs stamp set to the inside of my pop-up tag. Last step is Speckling with a heavy body white paint and a fan brush*Optional*

Happy Canada Day!!

June 30, 2022

Thank you for joining me today, here is my festive Canada Day blog post. This year Canada is celebrating 155 years as a nation and I could not think of a better way to celebrate Canada Day than to make this cute card for a few close friends. As they are also celebrating their birthday’s too. So let’s get started.

Step 1: Out of mixed media card stock I used Oxide Ink and started with Twisted Citron, next I blended in my Rustic Wilderness oxide ink. I then added Tumbled Glass and blended along the top with Unchartered Mariner (Which by the way is my new favorite new color for the oxides). Last step using my fan brush I splattered with water and dabbed it with some paper towel, set it aside and let it dry.

Step 2: Next I cut the Moose and Beaver critters from Joset’s Collection. The Beaver was cut from kraft cardstock and colored over with Rusty Hinge Oxide (This gives the beaver a more reddish brown fur). I cut the moose from a medium brown, dark brown and grey card stock and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Ink. For the Canadian flag I cut a heavy piece of white cardstock 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 and the red cardstock strips are 5/8 x 1 1/2, I lightly inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink. Next I used my Turkey die set and cut the leaves from red cardstock and used the Maple leaf in the center of my flag. The trees where cut from the Mason Jar set out of medium green and inked with Vintage Photo distress ink.

Step 3: I attached my tree first only adhering along the center of the tree, this allows you to lightly fold up the branches giving it a 3D look. I added the small tree from the collection next to the large tree. I double pop dotted the moose over the smaller tree bending out the lower branch over the moose. Next I added pop dots onto the beaver and the back of the flag. I used a miscellaneous curved die for the flag pole. ** Last step I like to take a white heavy body paint and speckle my card.**

I hope you enjoyed todays blog post and brought you some inspiration, Have a wonderful creative weekend!

Step 3: Out of Planner Essentials 4 , cut out 2 planner pages from your choice of designer paper and ink your edges. As per the main image.

Step 4: Cut out your Mushroom House card, next out of the same color of card stock cut out your front part of your mushroom house and accessories, including the top, door, window, small mushroom, grass, flowers, butterfly (from Once Upon a Time Accessories) from your choice of cardstock. Once everything is cut I inked my edges with Brown Distress ink and assembled my pieces. I added the insert piece to the back of my house so I can add this insert to my planner book. Thinking of you card!

April 28, 2022

Hi everyone, thank you for joining me today for my inspirational post. I was feeling the need to create with some bright fun colors, so I hope you enjoy this fruitastic card!! so lets get started!

Step 1: Start with a 4×4 square piece of cardstock, next I took my Make your Mark Stencil and applied yellow ink directly to the back of the stencil I choose the honey come side, next, I lightly spritzed it with some water and pressed onto the cardstock.

Step 2: I took some of the Reminiscence washi tape #1 and ripped up a few pieces and added them to the card, as per picture above and set card panel aside.

Step 3: Cut and ink your squirrel, instead of the nut being brown I used red cardstock to make it into a strawberry (a great idea from another ECD Ambassador) I added pink to his cheeks and two white dots from a gel pen.

Step 4: Cut your strawberries from red card stock and the leaves from green cardstock and ink the edges. I used my paper shaping kit to add a little dimension to my strawberries and leaves.

Step 5: Next I assembled my Squirrel, Strawberries and leaves to my card panel as per picture above.

Step 6: I took some white acrylic paint and speckled the front of my card, set aside and let dry.

Step 7: I took a piece of card stock 5 x 10 and score @ 5″ to make my card front.

Step 8: I repeated the same process as the front of the card to the inside, by adding some yellow ink to the back of the stencil spritzing it and laying it down onto the cardstock.

Step 9: I added a stamp sentiment and layered it onto the black cardstock and adhered it to the inside of the card. Last I added a strawberry, vine and flower.

Step 10: I cut a piece of black card stock 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and matted my front panel to it, then I added it to my card base.

I hope you enjoyed todays post. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting.

Gifts from the garden!

March 28, 2022

Hi everyone, Happy Monday! Its Katie here with a cute little project idea that I wanted to share with you all. I am super excited to get into my garden this year and start my veggie patch, but the ground is still a little frozen here in Alberta, Canada. So I thought I would start by making a few gifts for my gardening friends.

Step 1: Start by cutting out your bunny and carrots from Joset’s Bunny die #1929 using your choice of coordinating cardstock. I inked the edges with grey ink and added some pink to the bunnies cheeks and assembled the bunny and carrots as per the photo above.

Cut your hat and brim from Joset’s Farmer set #1859 using a yellow and red cardstock, I inked the edges with brown ink. Cut one or two black crows from Joset’s Scarecrow die #1907 and one grey crate from Farm Accessories die #1858, and ink the edges with dark brown.

Out of kraft cardstock cut out a Seed Packet from -Sidekick Essentials #16, I inked the edges with brown ink and added a piece of acetate in the window of the seed packet. Then with black ink, I stamped the Seeds label from In my garden stamp set #CS212 onto the top part of the seed packet. Last step, fold up the edges and glue your pocket together and set aside.

Next, I Took apart some sisal rope and added it to the brim of the bunnies hat. (I wanted to make the hat look like it was coming a part) I added the tiny crow to the center.

Next lay your images out as per the picture above or change it up, and adhere your items to the seed packet.

*Optional- I like to speckle with white and brown paint.

My favorite and final step to this project, sign and date the back of your envelope and add your seeds!

The best part of this project is you can create a whole bunch of different seed packets, wildflowers, sunflowers and corn. Just cut out your images and add it to your bunnies crate.

I think cutting out pumpkins from Joset’s Hay Ride #1909 and add them to your crate would be a perfect way to give some of your favorite pumpkin seeds.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post for today, have a wonderful day!!

Easter’s on its way!

February 28, 2022

Hi everyone, Happy Monday!

Today I am showing you this super cute Easter double page layout for my planner essentials album using the new Bunnies, Easter basket and Daffodils from Joset’s new collect. I can not get enough of these bunnies! I have made a stock pile of them for cards and future projects so stay tuned for those.

Lets get started!

Step 1: Create two bunnies from the Bunny Die #1929 from Joset’s new collection, I created these bunnies from white, grey, dark grey and black card stock, I added a little pink ink for the cheeks before attaching the whiskers. Next I created 3 carrots from orange and green cardstock.

Step 2: Next I cut out the Easter Basket from Die #1932 from dark brown, light brown and pink card stock. I inked the edges with brown ink. Next I cut out white flowers and eggs in all different cardstock colors. Then I took the grass die from Slim Line Adventures #1925 and cut out a strip of grass and set aside.

Step 3: cut out 1 Daffodil from Die #1933 from a light yellow card stock and ink the edges with brown or a dark yellow ink. the stems are cut from green cardstock.

Step 4: Cut your designer paper of your choice from Planner Essentials Die #41, next I took the rounded corner mat die and cut out three different designer papers. One is for the mat and two are trimmed for pockets. I adhered the first mat by gluing the three sides leaving the top with no glue to create the pocket, I recreated the second pocket the same way and attached it to the base mat.

Step 5: Once your pockets have been created, place your basket and bunny image as per picture above, the bunny is pop dotted with foam dots.

Step #6: Cut your designer paper of your choice from Planner Essentials Die #41, next I took the rounded corner mat and cut out a base mat.

Step #7: I cut out of dark brown cardstock the “Photo” frame from Planner Essentials #3 and matted some designer paper behind it. From dark brown cardstock I cut out a photo mat 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ and the designer paper is 3×3 and attached to the mat. I first attached the bottom photo mat and pop dotted the “Photo” mat to the top. Next I attached my bunny, daffodil, grass and eggs as per picture above.

Step #8: Using Reinforcement Varity Pack #1736 I cut out all the rings from light cardstock and attached to both pages.

Step 9: I like to finish off my pages by speckling with white craft paint.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, if you have any questions in regards to this project please feel free to reach out to me on Facebook @ Katie Porcina.

Happy crafting and take care!

Love You! Heart Planner Pages

January 31, 2022

Hi everyone, Katie here with my very first blog post as part of the Elizabeth Craft Designs Ambassadors Team. I am super excited to show you how I created this very cute but simple Heart Planner pages featuring Joset’s adorable elephant die.

First I cut out two elephants from Joset’s Collection. Then you will need to cut out two extra feet for Miss. Elephant all out of light grey card stock. Next I cut out the inside of the ears with light pink card stock. Then I gently inked my elephants with a dark grey ink, and dark pink for the ears. From the Planner Essentials #20, I cut out the word LOVE from light grey card stock and the background from dark grey cardstock. From the Sidekick Planners #2, I cut out the word YOU from Light grey and background in dark grey cardstock. The Hearts are cut from red card stock.

Making the Heart Planner pages and using the Elizabeth Crafts Woodgrain Paper. I then cut out the Large Heart from Planner Essentials #20, from the Reminiscence Book #2. Then cut the small Heart Page and the Photo Mats. I also cut out the Large Heart using 80lbs card stock and attached the woodgrain paper to it. This makes it a bit more durable in my planner album. Before I start attaching my papers and reinforcements, I inked my edges with brown ink.

After my base pages and photo mats are attached, I used pop dots to add my Miss and Sir Elephant to my planner pages. Then I pop dotted the word LOVE and YOU and adhered my hearts with glue. I love to speckle my pages, so I lightly speckled my pages with white paint.

I hope you found some inspiration from my post today, Have a wonderful craft day! Katie
