Birthday Girl

September 1, 2020

Hello E.C.D. lovers, It’s September already!

My dear friend’s birthday is coming up and that should be celebrated.

It’s still hard in this time with the Covid virus holding on but with the two of us we should be able to celebrate.

I didn’t make a card for her, but a really nice home deco.

I’m not showing that yet, but I’m going to show you the packaging around it.

A bald bag like that is nothing, so there had to be something nice about it.

With the envelope from the side kick planner essentials I made a one of a kind tag.

On top of the envelope I taped one of the lovely girls from the ART collection. She’s colored with the watercolor palette from E.C.D.

The tag is made with the birthday sentiments set. There is also a die set that matches the stamps, Labels 1.

The piece of fabric is blank but I gave it a layer of Distress Ink.

The “happy birthday” comes from my own collection, which got a layer of alcohol ink.

The tag on this site is also from the birthday sentiments set.

Everything is stamped with black ink and then edited with Distress Ink.

The charm also got a little alcohol ink.

In the envelope I put a little card and……of course a mini banner that I made with Planner essentials set 23 and 27.

I colored the banners, made of  soft finish cardstock, with different colors of Distress Ink and than stamped the little banners with black versafine and stamp set CS147.

Everything got a little black accents that I made with the stamp sets CS146 & CS147

I tied this to the bag with a big ribbon. No more fuss because that’s IN the bag!!

A successful packaging I think. It shows that the planner dies can be used for so many purposes and not just for your planner.

I hope I’ve been able to give you a little bit of inspiration again.

See you next time ?

Beware!!!!

August 12, 2020

Anyone who knows me a little, knows that I love Halloween. I like dress-up parties, theme parties and everything that has to do with witches. In a past life I must have been a witch once, lol.

This year I will make an October day by day so that I can count down to the 31st…..HALLOWEEN!

Today I show you page 1 of my Halloween Day By Day.

I work in the sidekick planner, which is a really nice format for this special month.

This time I made a planner pocket top loading, just like in the big planner. I made this myself with a little imagination. On my blog I showed earlier how to make this pocket. See it HERE.

The pocket insert will be my first page of my Halloween DBD. I decorated the pocket with a few cute stamps and dies. I stamped the cute witch and the bats (halloween party) on soft finish cardstock and colored it with the watercolor palette.

With the Note pieces Planner Essentials set I made the tag to put in the pocket. I finished it with the tab from the planner filmstrip set.

I also made the frame for a photo that you can add later. The lantern die is included in the Art journal set of streetlights.

The page is finished with reinforcers from the Planner Essentials set 11. I made the date with filmstrip numbers.

I made this nice pendants, which might be more to come later, by stamping the stamps from the Halloween party set on shrink foil. They are colored in with pencil. I carefully cut them out, gave them a hole and let them shrink with the heat tool.

Here and there I added an accent with a white gellyroll pen and they got a layer of glossy accents.

This is the page I wanted to show you this time. Hope you enjoy it and hope you love Halloween as much as I do!

Have fun,

Marjolijn.

Happy Place

August 2, 2020

Does that ever happen to you? You start something and suddenly it becomes something completely different than you planned?

Well, to me this happens on a regular basis.

I started a page about week 2 of July but it became a page of my Happy Place. Well, actually a summary of week 2 because I spent all my free time in my Happy Place?

I’m working on a big project and I can’t and won’t show anything about it until it’s complete. That’s the reason why there are no pictures added to this page yet.

For this page I used Esther’s patterned design paper, Reminiscence, I love it!!!

The left page is made of Soft Finish Cardstock and colored with Oxide Inks gathered twigs, faded jeans and iced spruce. I also added some ink on the patterned paper page so the two would match nicely together.

Between the pages I made a pocket, I’m in love with that die set! On the pocket I adhered the ECD logo and a piece of the banner that sat around the sidekick beach planner. It came with a very sweet note, real happy mail!!

I kept the note and the nice sticker in the pocket.

For the pages I used various Sidekick and Planner Essentials and Art Journal stamps and dies.

I also used Silk Microfine Glitter to color some of my die cuts. I first cut the images out of cardstock backed with Clear Double Sided Tape and then sprinkled it with the glitter. This Silk Microfine Glitter, yellow & turquoise really doesn’t give off, I find that a very nice side effect.

I’ve had a lot of fun creating this page again and hopefully I’ve inspired you a little bit.

See you next time! ?

Sidekick Mini Album

July 1, 2020

When I got the super cool stuff for the Sidekick planner and saw that incredibly cool envelope I immediately thought….That’s a lot of fun to make a mini album. So I did but it wasn’t easy. In the end I am very satisfied and now it’s standing in my craftroom.

I made 5 envelopes, but before I glued them together, I tied them first. Like you tie a book. I found a tutorial on You-tube.

I made a cover with craft-board and added a ribbon in between so you can close the book with a bow.

The pendant is made with shrink-plastic and a stamp.

In each envelope there is a card with a picture on it. The cards are made with the note pieces set and Planner Essentials 4

The paper that I used is for a laser printer and therefore nice and firm. I’ve decorated it with acrylic paint and the Gelli plate, my latest addiction.

Blue had just been given a new collar here. Unfortunately he didn’t enjoy it for long, a week later he died suddenly.

And I’ve only ventured into the Selfies recently. I hate pictures of myself. Whose kids would have that anyway? hihi

For the closure I used eyelets, which was a bit fiddling with the Crop-a-dile but it worked.

This is what the bound book looks like before I glued it into the cover.

These are the dies I’ve worked with.

I thought it was a great project to work on and you can see that you can do a lot more with all those nice dies from the Sidekick Essentials line.

On the back of the book I attached flower lace.

For the Sentiment I used Sidekick Essentials 4.

I hope you are just as excited as I am about the new Sidekick Essentials dies. They are so versatile. And hopefully I’ve inspired you a little bit again.

See you next time!

Planner Page

June 1, 2020

Hello everyone! It’s Marjolijn here today. With a little luck, the world will open up a bit, at least in the Netherlands.

It has done a lot to me, the “intelligent Lock down” and I am glad we can breathe again.

Of course, that does not alter the fact that the virus is still roaming around and that caution is really necessary.

But let’s hope we can take that coat off gradually. That we get a little more freedom again and I sincerely hope that we can eventually return to what it was like.

Contrary to what is said and thought about it.

This page I made out of the beautiful paper Ilse and Charlene designed for ECD. Rusty Weathered from the Art journal collection.

Also I cut the cylinder lock on the small ticket from that paper, I incorporated an eyelet were the key ring hangs. The keys I made from black cardstock that has been treated with guilding wax.

The text stamped on the tab is from one of the stamp sets of the Art journal collection. Together we are strong and we really have to do this together.

I punched all the tickets, the borders and the flowers out of a scrap of yellow design paper, they did get a lick of distress ink.

Behind the small flowers is a golden flower, which I punched out of golden glitter paper, I think it works very nice with the glitter of ECD, but I don’t have the glitter yet. I think I must have that to ?

There are 2 stamped flowers on top, they are stamped on vellum that I first gave a lick of watercolor paint on the back, I stamped with Stazon or I rubbed it off again.

On top of a piece of burlap, I also stamped on that, first I cut it with one of the label dies but did not get through the jute, However, I could see the shape well, so I cut it with my scissor.

I used drops on the small leaves of this twig, which is a delicious stuff, finally one that also makes really nice balls..

So a new phase, a new planner, the other one was almost filled so it was necessary.

I am very happy with the planners of E.C.D. not too much fuss and you can put a lot in it.

Hopefully I inspired you a bit to get started.

Smile!

May 27, 2020

Hi, It’s Marjolijn here today. How surprised I was to receive these dies, really great fun!!

The Camera die set is so great to make a mini album with, or as an insert in your planner large or …….

You want to get started right away and that is exactly what I did.

It has become a mini album but of course with some extras because that is what I enjoy doing.

For example, I placed a dome in the lens with some shaking material that I punched myself.

I also did the back with a piece of transparent sheet so you can see through it.

And another little extra, you can already see it and it will not really be a surprise because I love lights in my work.

If you pull out the mini camera on the side and press on the page, the “flash light” will light up.

I live on a beautiful harbor in the center of Tilburg.

Formerly an industrial harbor, nowadays a museum harbor with beautiful old ships, beautiful nature and where you can walk and enjoy a terrace or a picnic on the waterfront in normal times.

Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting Tilburg.

I punched the photo and just left the letters in it. It gives a funny effect.

This is definitely a set you MUST have, so many options and also funny to make cards with.

Just a little bit different than a standard card. I am still working on it so I will show it later.

Hopefully you are now just as enthusiastic as I am and that this project inspired you a little bit.

See jou next time.

Marjolijn.

Creating your own cooking planner

April 1, 2020

Hello planners, It’s Marjolijn here today.

This time I created a page in my cooking planner! For now, my beautiful blue, turquoise planner has become my personal cookbook where I can collect my own favorite recipes.

Here is the first page that I created for my personal cookbook. For this page I used the Planner Essentials 19 – Recipe Book and Planner Essentials 4. For the back, I first cut a page using P.E. 4, then draw with a pencil the contour of the P.E. 19 en cut it by hand. On this page I printed the recipe.

I glued the pages together so that there’s a pocket between the pages to put a tag in.

The holes are finished with the reinforcers included in the Planner Essentials 7 set. On the tags I wrote the shopping list and a list of the ingredients used. I also added the pocketholder ( I gave it that name ?) from Planner Essentials 2 to the front to put one of my tags in.

I hope you are a little bit inspired by this page.

Greetings,

Marjolijn

Double-Pocket For February

March 1, 2020

Hello again, Marjolijn here!

This time, I made a pocket-page for the month February –– the month of love!!! First, I made a double page for every week. But, because the weeks are very much alike, I thought: “mmm no, I won’t do that anymore. I only scrap the highlight of the month.” And so, that’s what I did. ?

For this page, I used P.E. (Planner Essentials) 22 to make the pocket and with the P.E. 25 to make the little heart insert. On the edge of the page, I added some white gesso with a mask and stamped with the ECD stamp-set Background 1, 3 and Pieces of Life 1. I adhered the little faceted heart from P.E. 8 on the heart insert.

And behind the insert I made a shaker with little pink hearts in it. So funny!!

The backside of the page I made with P.E. 4 and I placed a pocket (P.E. Pocket 2) on it. I decorated it with different stamps from Pieces of Life 3. On top of the pocket I placed an insert for tags P.E. 2. The tags I made with the P.E. 26 Tag & Toppers. In one of the tags I also made a shaker –– it’s so much fun, I like these little extra’s.

In the big pocket I made a big tag and I stamped with black Stazon ink over the pictures.

I had so much fun making this page! I hope you are a little bit inspired by it.

See you next time ?

Birthday Planner Page Using The Planner Pocket 4

January 28, 2020

Hi planner fans, Marjolijn here. This is my first post for the Elizabeth Craft Design blog!

First I want to say that I’m so proud to be a member of the design team!!! It even gives me more fun to play with the beautiful dies and stamps for the planner.

Today, I’ve decided to make a special page in my planner for a very special occasion: my daughters birthday! I took a lot of pictures that I wanted to use in my planner to remember her 17th birthday.

Here is everything I created for my pocket page!

Look at this, a whole day in one page with cute tags, labels and a large double tag where I placed all the pictures and journaling. And look at that gorgeous birthday cake, my oldest daughter made it as a special surprise for her sisters birthday!

For this page I used the new die sets from the Planner Essentials 22. On the back, I glued the page from Planner Essentials 4.

The page folds together just like the pockets in the collection, folding and adhering the flaps onto your base page, making it look like an envelope. I used the reinforcements from Planner Essentials 7 to secure the other side of the page.

I made two pages from craft paper (size 3 3/8” x 8”) and bound them together with the die from set 22 (see picture below) –– now it’s a double tag!

So now, I have a lot of space for pictures and journaling!

I finished it off by decorating it with stamps and dies. For that I used Planner Essentials 27, the retro numbers trio. Oh, how I love that –– 3 sizes in one set!!

I also used the Planner Essentials Planner Patterns and Planner Months die sets. The stamps are from Pieces of Life 1 (CS160).

As an additional insert, I made a tag with a see trough pocket made from vellum. And a little tag inside it. All made with the Planner Essentials set 26 and stamps from the set CS134.

I love the little banners They are so decorative and fun for birthdays and party’s. Even if they are too big, I role them up and put them in the pocket. Always fun to find them, and you immediately know it’s a special occasion when you do.

I made the banner with the Planner Essentials 26 Retro Numbers Trio set. There are 3 different flags in it in 3 sizes so you can make a lot of different banners for in your planner or other projects! Sometimes I make them and send them with a birthday card! Success assured!

I hope you all get inspired a little bit with this page. It’s so much fun playing with this new dies!!!

See you next time,

Marjolijn
