It’s Karen here. Christmas is a bit more than five weeks away now. Crazy how fast it’s going to be here…..and there’s even less time to get those fun holiday cards out. Today I hope to inspire you with this easy and fun card made with the Santa Claus die set, some Silk Microfine Glitter, and shapes die cut from paper in the It’s Christmas Time collection.
Here are the steps to replicate the cards:
Step 1. From 85lb White Soft Finish Cardstock, cut a rectangle measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″; score at 5-1/2″ and fold in half to create a top-fold card base.
Step 2. Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and adhere a 2″ strip of patterned paper from the It’s Christmas Time 6×6 Paper Collection.. Cut this with the second largest die from the Stitched Rectangles die set.
Step 3. Die cut a Dashing Circle from the It’s Christmas Time 6×6 Paper Collection. Tuck it under the diagonal strip on the card front.
Step 4. Cut two more pieces of White Soft Finish Cardstock at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and adhere 101mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive to the front of one piece and to the back of the other. Die cut the Santa Claus pieces as below. With Copic markers, color the bell (Y26), the face and nose (E00, R20, C7) and the gloves/buttons (C7). Cover the jacket, hat and pants/boots with True Red Silk Microfine Glitter.
Step 5. Die cut the pants/boots a second time and color the “shoe” portion with Copic C07. Cut both the glitter version and the colored version in half and piece back together with the cuff piece of the Santa Clause dies.
Step 5. Put the rest of Santa Claus together and adhere to the card front with pop tape.
Step 6. With black permanent ink, stamp “Be Merry” from the Classic Christmas Sentiments.
Step 7. Adhere the card front to the card base.
Step 8. Add two Bottle Green Nuvo drops for eyes.
