Flow album

June 17, 2021

Hello paperlovers!

This time I used the a Dutch magazine “Flow” in my planner. This “book for nature lovers” was perfect for that. I used a combination of dies from the Planner, Sidekick and Art-journal collection.

The Flow contains many paper extras that I have scattered here and there in this planner. What I’m going to use this planner for I don’t know yet but it was just fun to play with the dies and the paper. Sometimes I added some sentiments. Photos of the garden will probably be added later, because this paper lends itself perfectly for that.

I hadn’t used this die set in a long time and it is so much fun. Voilà, here he is again.

And I almost forgot about this die set. There are so many new and fun products on the market from the Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner collection, too many to list! Sometimes it is useful to browse through your collection and then you suddenly come up with ideas.

I used a different color for all 4 seasons where the paper also comes from a different designer. Furthermore I have always repeated the layout but always made a different special pages in it. The envelopes contain all ready-made cards that were included in the magazine. Handy if you want to send a card.

I had already shown this page made with the Phone Booth die set. I love it!!! It is a pity that all those beautiful telephone booths have disappeared from the streets, especially this English one ofcourse. Recently I saw on T.V. in a nostalgic English village such an old telephone booth has been transformed into a neighborhood library. So cute and the books were kept nice and dry. Really nice to give it a new function like this.

This was my post for today, maybe you also have an old or new magazine somewhere that you’ve always wanted to do something with. Or how about an old picture book? Then this is of course a super nice idea. I hope you’re inspired by this post. If you want to see more pictures from the pages that I created, make sure to visit my blog HERE.

See you next time!

Art Journal Collection Cardmaking Fantasy Flowers

Pocket Cards

May 29, 2021

Karen here today with a few fun cards that I made recently using the Sealed Pocket die from the Art Journal line. How fun that these dies are so versatile that they can be used for journals, scrapbooks, cards and more! I added some florals to my cards as well!

I made three versions of this card. For this version, I colored the flowers with Wilted Violet Distress Ink and used the Florals 2 Dies with 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. The leaves in all my cards today are colored with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. The card base and the pocket are also 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. I glued the pocket to the card front which is cut just shy of 4″ across and 5-1/4″ tall. Then it fit perfectly on a standard A2 vertical card base.

One can add a fun giftcard to the tag in the pocket. In my case, I also printed a sentiment and added some ribbon. So fun!

This version is cut with the Florals 5 Dies and is colored with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink.

And finally, this version is cut with the Florals 3 Dies and is colored with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Craftily yours, Karen

Dragonfly Tag

May 19, 2021

Karen here! For today’s post, I created a tag that I’ll be tying to a bottle of wine as a gift to a co-worker who will be leaving soon for retirement. I’m so jealous and, yet, so happy for her. Tags are a great way of turning a simple gift into something special.

I started this tag by diecutting the sweet dragonfly from the Sidekick Essentials 18 die set. I love that the planner sets have really cute dies that can be used for planners, cardmaking and more! I used 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock and daubered some embossing fluid on the edges. I then used Copper embossing powder and heat set it.

The beautiful paper used in this tag is from the NEW Rainbow of Happiness paper from the Art Journal line. I diecut the tag using the Planner Essentials 26 set that has some really amazing tags and toppers. I embellished it with a couple of Fitted Heart diecuts and some ribbon. I stamped a sentiment from the Family Stamps onto a banner that is also in Planner Essentials 26. Finally, I added a few half-pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen

Sometimes we all need…a little magic

May 14, 2021

Wouldn’t you like that, too? A little magic, or help in the household? Well, I do. But with a good schedule it also saves a lot of time and energy. This time I adapted to what I can do and distributed the work throughout the day and the week. This way I also have energy left over for my hobby.

I love Esther’s beautiful paper so I went to work with the Reminiscence the book 2.

I made the basics with Planner Essentials 4. The edges got a lick of distress ink but I didn’t do anything about it. With Sidekick Essentials 8, I made a pocket that could hold a mini-book. I adhered it at the edges so there’s another ticket behind it. On the left corner I used another stamp from the CS134 Retro labels set. Below that, I made a trifold page with the Puzzle page from the new Art Journal collection. I only adhered it to the edges. He’s dressed with a “note for myself.” But first coffee! For that I used the dies from the Sidekick Essentials 4. Next to it I used a stamp from the fountain pen CS216 art journal chick that refers like an arrow to the coffee cup. I colored the pen using the watercolor palette.

In the pocket I made a mini-booklet with a page for every day. The days of the week I made with the Sidekick Essentials 3 set and for the tags I used Planner Essentials 26. For the narrow one I cut of a little trip on both sides. On the small tag I adhered Mary Poppins and on the big tag Bert. These ones are from a set called “the park” by Tim Holtz.

Mary Poppins stands for magic for me and Bert for a little help if necessary. I wrote the text with a stencil….no, my handwriting is really not that beautiful!!! The minibook received a stamp from the CS130 Bullet Journaling 3 set on each page.

The page is finished with reinforcements from Planner Essentials set 22. For the strip of arrows I used Planner essentials 14.

Now I have to fill everything in but I’m sure you’re not interested in my household schedule hihi. Otherwise…… I’d love to hear it. Honestly, this fröbelen was much more fun than that household but secretly I enjoy it enormously when my house is nice and clean. Maybe I should look for a little “Magic” or a help in the household?

Hope you find a little bit of magic for your household and a little inspiration by my page.

With love,

Marjolijn.

Art Journal Collection Planner Essentials Traveler's Notebook

An Elegant Journal and video tutorial

May 5, 2021
Hello again everyone, it’s Annette Green here today with a little different twist on the new square TN art journal. I’ve created an elegant book using paints, stencils, stamps and of course new dies from the Picture It art journal collection and I’ve provided a video tutorial taking you through all the steps below.
In the video, I share how I painted the cover of the new Chic Black TN, added ribbon and lace, buttons and wax seals, and so much more embellishment throughout this sweet little TN.
You’ll learn all kinds of little tips for using the new dies, how I choose my papers and plan out the process of building the album, and even some product suggestions you’ve been asking me for, such as what I use to store my dies.
I show how to add vellum to the pocket pages, different ways to use the decorative insert die, tips for adding silver metallic cardstock pieces, and so much more. I hope you can join me as I share the whole process in the video below. You’re sure to want to add the new square TN to your planner/art journal series!

Joset Designs Soft Finish Cardstock Summer Journal Special

The Fisherman

April 28, 2021

Hi All! Lisanne here again. I think a lot of you have dies from Joset’s collections. For this card I used a lot of different ones as I love mixing and matching them. I had so much fun creating this card!

Let me tell you how I created this card…

I started with the base. I cut one large stitched square using the Stitched Square (1698) die and colored it with Tumbled Glass and Tea Dye Distress Ink. This gives a picture of land and sky. For the sky I used a mask stencil from the Art Journal Special (SO39). This mask looks like waves, but I used this for clouds.

Than the funniest part of the whole card. Die cut, color and assemble all the pieces. I used Soft Finish Cardstock for this and colored with Diustress Inks. I made some bushes with the Forest Accessories (1688). At these bushes there are growing some flowers. Isn’t this looks cute?

The Fisherman stands in front of the bushes. He is very busy with fishing. The Fisherman is made from the Farmer dies and the Safari Accessories. The fishing rod is a die from the Camping Accessories. And at least the water pool is the mud pool from the Pig.

All the dies I colored with the Distress Ink. Below I will write all the used products. So for now I will thank you all for reading! See you soon!

Butterfly Art Journal Page

April 27, 2021

Hi there,

It’s Tanja here and today I would like to show you how to create this Butterfly Art Journal Page:

Step 1: Creating the Background

  • apply Embossing Paste through the Waves stencil on a piece of watercolor paper and let this layer dry thoroughly
  • add color using pinks from the Watercolor Palette
  • ink up the edges with Distress Ink Black Soot and add some splatters with watered-down black acrylic ink

Step 2: Creating the Butterfly

  • roll a piece of purple tissue paper for the butterfly’s body
  • add little antennas – I used ready-made stamen that you would normally use for flower centers
  • cut out two wings from vellum using a die from the Butterfly Pocket Insert set
  • color the vellum with a light teal Alcohol Marker
  • assemble the butterfly using hot glue
  • add a pre-made sentiment

I hope you got inspired.

Hugs,

Art Journal Collection Charlene Stamps Inspiration from the Design Team

This is Love

April 22, 2021

Hey Friends! It’s EK and today I am playing around with Ilse and Charlene’s Lady and Gentleman stamp set to create a card, colored only in neutral browns. I just love how an all brown tone project looks, appearing very rustic, and yet somehow really colorful.

Step One: Using both watercolor paper and waterproof ink, stamp both the Lady and Gentleman stamp set and the First Sights of Spring stamp set images onto your paper. My paper is cut larger than my card frame, so I know the edges will still need to be trimmed before turning this into a card.

Step Two: Color the people in the image and different brown tones. I used watercolor pencils, but any watercolor medium would work. Here I have colored in the people like I would if I was using colored pencils.

Step Three: Using clear water, activate the watercolor pencils. Let dry.

Step Four: Finish coloring the rest of the image using your watercolor medium of choice.

Step Five: Again activate the pencil using clean water. Let dry again.

Step Six: Fill in the empty space using one of the Pattern Stencil Pack stencils. I picked the circles stencils and blended Tea Dye Distress Oxide through the stencil.

Step Seven: Trim the watercolor paper to fit an A2 card frame and adhere it to the frame using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Add craft drops to the project to add more visual interest. I used Metallic Gold Craft Drops to keep the neutral color palette.

Step Eight: Add a sentiment to the project from the Retro Label Sayings stamp set stamped in Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide.

What do you think of a project colored in only one color tone? Do you ever only ever use one value when creating a project? Let us know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting.

Easter

April 15, 2021

It’s going so fast this year, the days, weeks are flying by. Unfortunately no family Easter brunch this year, last year also not, I do miss it. Luckily it is also very cozy together with the children and we had a very nice Easter party.

It has become a double page again, which I like best for an overview.

Here the flaps are closed, I love these pages!

For the right page I used the Sidekick Essentials 10, around which I folded the wave pocket page, also from the sidekick collection. The large pocket is on the back, which I can use for a next overview. The sentiment “Happy Easter” I made with the alphabet from the Art collection. And Oliver (Tim Holtz) finishes this page. In the pocket there are 2 tags with photos and journaling.

The left page is made with the Sidekick Essentials 11 set. Behind the photo are some bunnies (Tim Holtz) and also one on the photo. I adhered the picture on the page before I put the reinforcements on it. That’s all this page needed.

I made the tags with the tag die from Planner Essentials 11. I like them oh so much! And that sweet bunny is an older Elizabeth Craft Designs die. Unfortunately no longer available but still so nice!! Especially………

That bun of the bunny…look how cute :-). This is the back of the tags with even more photos and journaling.

Both Oliver and the bunny are colored with watercolor paint.

Hope you are a bit inspired by this page,

With love,

Marjolijn.
