Be Mine Mini Slimline Card

January 10, 2023

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Happy New Year! I wish you all a healthy and happy 2023. This is my first blog post for the new year. I can’t believe it. The next holiday to look forward to is Valentine’s Day. Below you will find a card using the Gnomes Dies, Dotted Background Die and the Love Sentiments Stamps from Joset Designs.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish 110 lbs to 7″ x 6″, score at 3 1/2″ and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish 110 lbs to 3 3/8″ x 5 7/8″. Apply Inks of your choice using colors Fuchsia, Lt. Red, Lt. Orange and Yellow. Set aside to dry.

Step 3 – Diecut Dotted Background using a scrap piece of cardstock to use as a stencil. Place it on top of the panel created in Step 2. Apply Texture Paste Translucent Gloss, remove the stencil. Quickly add some Soft Microfine Glitter Cool Diamond before the Paste dries. This will secure the Glitter. Let dry then adhere to the card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Gnomes using White Soft Finished Cardstock 110 lbs. Color in using any color medium of your choice. I used Copics. Be sure to only use the same colors for your background. Assemble using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 5 – Stamp Love Sentiments using Ink in a Fuchsia color. Place the Gnomes on the card front first before stamping to make sure the positioning will not hide the sentiment. Once the sentiment is stamped adhere the Gnomes using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 6 – Optional – For added interest apply some Shimmer to the glasses and flower center using a Shimmer Pen.

This card can be used for several occasions by simply changing the colors and sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Merry Day After Christmas

December 26, 2022

Karen here hoping your Christmas Day was filled with love and good memories. There’s no better way to preserve those memories than in a scrapbook! Creating pages using the Planner Essentials line is easy and fun! Today’s pages are for Day 25 of my December Day-by-Day album! (I created these pages right before Christmas, so I’ll add pictures to them later…)

I used a Planner Essentials 55 (over a Planner Essentials 4) for the front of the page. How fun are these file folder pockets. I added a strip of paper to each of the tops of the pockets and dotted the bottom to make sure they stood out. I used the Library Pocket Filler Cards (one of them is cut down to fit the page) for the tags and added the small heart from the Gnomes set to keep the cards from slipping down. I’ll add pictures to the tags soon. And, of course, you can see that I added a sweet Gnome too! That fun ribbon is from a present someone wrapped for me. I didn’t yet open the present, but I had to steal the ribbon off of it.

On the back of the page is a space for more pictures along with a Stitched Circle and another Gnome. All of the paper I used on these pages is from the Christmas Lives Here set, except for this green snowflake paper. Of course, no page is complete without some fun reinforcements. (I’m addicted to them!)

Craftily yours, Karen

Ho Ho Ho Holiday Stocking Card

December 20, 2022

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. I can’t believe the holidays are just days away. This is my last post for 2022 so I decided to add some bonus cards. Below are the steps to create your own cards.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish to 7″ x 6″, score at 3 1/2″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish to 3 1/2″ x 6″. Place Planner Stencils 1 on top of panel and apply Versamark. Remove the stencil and sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder. Remove the excess and heat set it with a Heat Tool. Adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. (Planner Stencil 1 is no longer in stock so you can replace with Planner Stencil 3.)

Step 3 – Diecut Holiday Stocking using various colors of Glitter Cardstock. If you don’t have Glitter Cardstock you can make your own using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheets and Silk Microfine Glitter by placing Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheets on Soft Finish Cardstock. Remove the release sheet and add Silk Microfine Glitter. Remove the excess and burnish it with your finger. Assemble and adhere to card front using Foam Tape.

Step 4 – Stamp Holiday Treats sentiment using Versamark on White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat set it with a Heat Tool.

Step 5 – Diecut Diagonal Stitched Fishtails to the sentiment created in Step 4. Adhere to card front using a piece of Foam Tape on the left side and 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the right.

Bonus Cards

All the cards are using the same products but the colors and stencils are different. I used Planner Stencils 1 & 2 but it is no longer in stock. Instead you can use Planner Stencils 3.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 11″ x 4 1/2″, score at 5 1/2″ and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Diecut Fitted Circles using Masking Sheets and place on top of the trimmed Cardstock. Apply inks of your color choice using a Blender brush. Once done place Planner Stencil on top and using the same colors. This is called Double Stenciling. Remove the masks.

Step 3 – Diecut Fitted Indented Rectangles using the panels created in Step 2.

Step 4 – Stamp Holiday Treats sentiments to the panels created in Step 2 using Versamark. Sprinkle Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat set it with a Heat Tool. Adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 5 – Diecut Beautiful Baubles using Matte Cardstock for the baubles top and string. Beautiful Baubles is no longer in stock so you can use Classic Christmas Special Kit for the baubles top and use string or draw a line for the string.

Create Handmade Journals using File Folder Dies – 3 Ways

December 12, 2022
Hello, Annette Green back again with some fun handmade journals made from the General File Folder 1 and 2 die sets today. I’ve created a video below as I share how to make these 3 different ways, from easy to intermediate to more advanced in assembly.
The easiest style is the three-hole pamphlet stitch assembly. These little journals came together in a jiffy and would make great little gifts for the holidays or any occasion. In the video, I share some tips on prepping your pages and assembly in two different versions of this simple journal.
One is quite basic and the other is lined on the inside covers, stamped on the pages, and has a ribbon closure. For both I used the General File Folder 1 die set, and papers from 49 and Market and The Book 5 (coming soon!)
The intermediate journals are custom sized traveler’s notebooks which I show you how to make yourself in the video. For both journals I used Kraft Tex, but you can use leather, faux leather, or any flexible yet sturdy material as your base. The word plates on the covers of these are from Sidekick Essentials 1 (“Noted) and #14 Bookmark 1 (“moments”), and the label frames are from General File Folders 1.
The insides of each are similar in construction, but the black one simply contains pages and no file folder dividers. The tan one has three signatures with the file folder dies (both 1 and 2) along with plain pages inside for writing and notes. In the video you can see more details.
The more advanced book is a hard cover, stitched binding journal made with medium weight chipboard, papers from The Book 5 and 49 and Market and dies from both file folder sets as well.
There are six signatures in this book, each sewn into the inner spine binding. In the video, I take you through all the steps to this process.
This stitched binding is not difficult once you get the hang of it, and it’s certainly the most sturdy and book-like journal of all three styles.
I plan to use this hard cover book as my 2023 grateful journal, so watch for more on that in future posts. Thanks for joining me today, and I hope you take time to watch the video and try making your own journals. Enjoy!

Sparkling Christmas Card

October 24, 2022

Hi Everyone, Katie here thank you for joining me with todays blog post! I am super excited to show you this amazing new stocking die from Joset’s new Christmas Collection, and of course I am using a ton of glitter. So grab a cup of coffee or tea and lets get started!

Step 1: Cut your stocking from your favorite card stock, next selected a 3D embossing folder and run it through your machine to give it some dimension. Next, I took my Vintage Photo Distress Ink and lightly inked the 3D pattern.

Step 2: Next apply your 2-way adhesive onto your strip of white cardstock and cut your stocking trims. I then peeled back the adhesive backing and add your choice of glitter. I used green for this sample but on my card I used Cool White Microfine glitter. (There are so many beautiful glitter choices)

Step 3: After you have assembled your stocking, cut your card front bases.

Cut your white base 4 1/4 “x 5 3/4 “and stamp your sentiment on the bottom from Joset’s new Holiday sentiments, I used “Christmas Magic”. Cut your green mat 4 1/2″ x 6″ , red mat 4 3/4″ x 6 1/4″ and your card base 6 1/2″ x 10″ scored @ 5″ 1/2″. Assemble your card as per the picture.

Step 4: With the same process by applying adhesive to card stock I cut out some holly leaves and berries from Winter Greens and applied glitter.

I pop dotted my stocking to the front of the card, added my glitter holly, added gems and speckled with white acrylic paint.

And we are done, I hope you enjoyed todays block post! I look forward to my next months post using Joset’s new Character Mrs. Clause creating a super cute baking Planner Essential page.

Take Care all and Happy Crafting >Katie<
