Welcome Home

March 9, 2023

Hi Everyone, Els Schutte here today. It’s March so time for another blog post.

This time I made a Welcome Home card using the beautiful Florals 9 and 14. I hope It will inspire you to make a card like this for a friend or new neighbor!

Below you will find the step by step instructions. Have fun creating this card.

I took the page with the text on it, cut it at 8 1/2″ x 11″ and printed this image on it. I also found some nice images in the paper pad and cut them out! ( see image)

Take a base card of 11″ x 7 1/2″ and fold it in half. Now your base card is 5 1/2″ x 7 1/2″. Put some foam dots on the back and glue the big image on the base card. Then glue all the other parts behind it.

Cut some flowers and leaves using Florals 9 and 14. I die cut 3 big, 3 small and 3 center pieces for 1 flower and 4 leaves.

Cut 13 of the Florals 9 flower and color them in the color you like.

Color all other flowers in the color you like and shape them. Once shaped, glue them together.

Make a nice composition on your card with the flowers you made. Stamp also the key with Versamark and put gold embossing powder on it and melt it with the heat tool.

And now your card is ready! I hope you like this card and that you will give it a try. Without the key you can use it also for Birthdays and other occasions.

  • Take a 12 x 12 Carstock and scor it at 4 and 8 inch, turn it and do the same, cut off the 4 corners, now you can cut 4 pieces of design paper of 3 7/8 x 3 7/8, distress the edges and make nice corners and glue them on the 4 parts. I cut out the mandala of white and put that in the center.
  • Turn the box and cut 4 pieces of design paper at 3 7/8 x 3 7/8, Ink the edges do the corners and glue them on the 4 panels, if you have a paper with an direction, make sure to put the bottom of the paper on top, ( touching the middle black part), then take the stamp from the new stampset and stamp it on the 4 panels.
  • for the lif you need a piece of cardstock of 6 1/8 x 6 1/8 scor this on all 4 sides at 1 inch now you cut on one side into the scorlines till the scorline, and do the same on the opposite side., glue the lid together by folding the tabs to the inside. Decorative paper for the top is 4 x 4 and the sides are 4x 7/8 x 4
  • Stamp all these images with Versamark and emboss them with gold embossingpowder, The telephone is on Black Cardstock, then cut them out with the dies.
  • Take some acetate strips and glue the images on that and fold over the edge and glue it down, then they will stand up.

Fireworks

December 21, 2022

Hi Everone!! Irina here today with a New Year card. This year has almost come to an end and I thought it would be fun using the paperflowers to create fireworks on my card. Hope you like the idea!

Start with a piece of black cardstock from 3 3/4 x 8 inch.

For the fireworks I used the Florals 9 ( 1845). Diecut some different sizes from the paperflowers in the color you like. I used Blue, Blue/green, pink an gold glitter.

Glue the ‘firework flowers’on your card base on the left and right side of your card.

Diecut the numbers 2023. I used the Large Numbers 1915 and some gold glitter cardstock. Put 3D foam under the numbers and put them in the middle of your card.

Diecut some small cirkles out of the gold glitter carddstock and glue them between the fireworks.

Glue your black base on a piece of gold glitter cadstock and your card is finished.

Hope you like the idea. Thank you so much for reading my blog. Wishing you all Happy Holidays and hope to see you next year!

xoxo Irina

Merry Christmas with Karan

December 7, 2022

Hi Creative friends and welcome back to the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog.

I am making a few changes in my Design Team commitments heading into 2023, one of those changes I am making is with Elizabeth Craft Designs. I have decided its time for me to say farewell, so i am sharing my last project with you for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I decided to keep it simple and I designed a Christmas card using Florals 12, which has been a favorite of mine to create with. I cut 8 large florals 12 and two of the small flowers, and 8 leaves,

The Merry Christmas title is from an older EC Die (1576 Words 5-Winter Wishes)

I coloured them with aged mahogany, and the leaves with peeled paint, pretty much my stand by colours for florals 12 when creating poinsettias.

I hope you enjoy my last project with Elizabeth Craft Designs and want to wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas, and a safe, happy and prosperous New Year!

Thank you for dropping by today and for following me along the past two years as i shared my projects with you.

  • Color the holly leaves green , shape the flowers and glue 3 on top of eachother.
  • Glue some red berries on top of the holly branch.
  • Take a design paper and the Holly page frame and cut the side of the holes off like 1/4 or so……then glue it on top of the design paper.
  • Now mat everything on a white 41/2 x 81/2 card, then place the holly leaves and the poinsettias on the card like you see on this image.
  • Place some pinecones and decorate the leaves, flowers with some snow ( paste).
  • I also did some glossy accent on the berries on the design paper……..

Wonderful Time of Year

September 15, 2022

Hello creative friends welcome back to the Elizabeth Crafts Blog, it is Karan Gerber here to share a holiday card with you. Although it seems a bit early to be sharing Holiday cards, my desk is full of Christmas Projects at the moment so i wanted to get a jump start on a few more.

Using Planner Essentials 47 to cut out the tree, i cut it out 6 times, just trimming off the tree and i layered them all in the circles. I then cut the deer on a coordinating paper from the collection i was using.

I used the stitched circles to create a winter scene, starting with the smaller circle on the inside layer, then the larger circle on the outside layer. Using foam adhesive  to pop the layers to allow me to create this lovely winter scene

The florals 12, i used and cut out on Foamiran which is a light felt paper, i shaped and added stamens, paint , then a bit of snow paste and finally glitter to the centers. They turned out so beautiful, that i know i will be doing this technique again and again.

I love how this winter scene turned out, and what a great way to get a jumpstart on my Holiday Cards. I hope you dig into your planner essentials and see which ones will work for your holiday cards

Christmas Flowers

September 9, 2022

Hello everyone! Irina here with a Christmas card. I always like clean and simple cards. My favorite color is blue, but I also like green very much and I thought it would be fun to create a green Christmas card. On this blog I show you how I created this card.

Start with white cardstock from 5 x 5 inch.

Pick a stencil you like and use a soft grey ink. I used Hickory smoke oxide ink.

My stencil was to short, so I had to flip it over as you can see on the picture below.

For the middle squares use:

Black cardstock 3 3/4 inch and green cardstock 3 1/2 inch.

Glue the black and green together and centre it on your base.

Take a piece of hempcord and use tape to add it in your card.

Diecut your flowers. I used Florals 12 ( 1873 )

Only color the leaves with ink or markers.

Shape your flowers and glue them together.

Now it’s time to glue the flowers and leaves on your card.

I thought it would be fun to use one of the Circles with Sentiments stamps. ( CS276)

Last but not least, take a piece of white cardstock from 11 x 5.5 inch, fold it in the middle. Now glue your card on this base and your Christmas card is finished.

Hope you like it!! Thanks for watching en reading this blog! See you next time!

Xoxo Irina

Autumn is Drawing Near

August 10, 2022

Hello, my ECD friends, Marla here with another project share. The dog days of summer are quickly coming to an end and soon fall will be here, bringing with it cooler days and nights. My card today takes us deep into the end of fall with rich mahogany’s, red, orange, amber, gold and yellows. Let’s see how these colors came together on my card today, shall we?

  • Spritz a generous amount of water onto a watercolor panel and sprinkle on Lindy’s Stamp Gang “Magical ” powders. For my card I added “Autumn Maple Crimson, Cattail Copper Brown, Red Hot Poker Orange and Bayou Boogie Gold.” Spritz with more water to activate the powders. Dry the panel and repeat until desired effect is achieved.
  • Add water droplets to your panel. Then, sprinkle black embossing powder over the droplets and heat set. Did you know you could heat emboss with water?
  • Die cut your leaves using the ECD “Maple Leaves” die. Add dimensional foam tape to the back of each leaf.
  • Add ink to a 3.75″ x 5″ in piece of white cardstock. I used Distress Inks in “Barn Door, Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey and Fossilized Amber.”
  • Place the ECD “Rocks” stencil over the inked panel and add ink randomly through the stencil onto your panel. I used Distress Ink in “Gathered Twigs”. Spritz the panel with water if you like for added texture. Splatter your panel using the “Magical” powders.
  • Arrange your leaves around your inked panel and adhere along with your sentiment
  • Cut a coordinating piece of cardstock add gold watercolor on the edges to 4″ x 5.25″ and mount your panel to the inked layer using additional foam tape. Then adhere to a 4.25″ x 5.5″ top folding card base and add sequins if desired.

That completes our card for today. I hope this inspired you to start creating with your fall supplies. I have added the ECD product links below for easy shopping. Until next time…. Marla
