By the Sea is where I want to be!

May 24, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with todays blog post. I wanted to change it up a bit using Esther Glasses Sea Creatures and create this super cool Steam Punk Easel Card. So grab your favorite beverage and lets begin.

Step 1: Start with creating the portal of your submarine, I used an older paper line from Stamperia, it has pipes and gears that would make it look like the inside of a sub. I cut the paper 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and used the circle from the pocket page fillers 2 and cut the Centre of the paper. The backside of this paper has the pipes and gears and I flipped the circle. Before adhering the circle, I placed a piece of acetate in-between the layers. Next, I took the two circle from the Pocket Pages filler 2 and created the black ring from card stock. I added the black bolts from Planner Essentials 48 to the 4 corners of the card.

Step 2: Cut out your Octopus and diving helmet from Seas Creatures out of your favorited designer paper or card stock, as well as the coordinating grasses and Sea Horse (I did use the Summer Art Journal collection but just realized it was discontinued, Sorry) But there are other sea horses out there. Ink your pieces with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and assemble.

Step 3: Create the rest of your easel card by use heavy white cardstock120lbs and cut your card base, 5 1/2 x 11 and score along the 11″ side at 5 1/2 and 2 3/4 and fold up your score lines, cut an extra 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 base page and attach your card front. If you take a look at my other blog post “A Pop-Up Shaker Snowman Card” you can see how to assemble. (Its very easy)

Step 4: Cut out your Happy Birthday from coordinating cardstock and Sea Accessories, and adhere to your card.

Last step I always like to speckle with Heavy White Acrylic paint.

I hope todays blog post brought you some inspiration, as its just another way to use this awesome Sea Creatures Planner die set from Esther Glass! Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!

Starting my pet planner for 2023

January 13, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with my first blog post for 2023! I wanted to start the year off with my sidekick pet planner and pocket page set! So grab a coffee or your favorite beverage and lets get started!

Start with cutting your images from Josets cat die #1666 your favorite card stock, ink the edges with a slightly darker coordinating ink. I made three kitties for the example today 🙂 Yes these are the colors of my kitties Mocha, Grey (aka spooky) and the white cat is pumpkin.. We rescued her in October 2022 her name fits her personality cute as a pumpkin it just stuck, lol.

Next out of your choice of designer paper I cut a page from the Sidekick Essentials 4, the accessories are from sidekick – pocket fillers 1 & 2 .

Next cut pocket pages using your coordinating designer paper and sidekick-pocket fillers, I pop-dotted the kitty on top of my planner pocket.

Add your photo mat, heart clip and moments quote, I pop-dotted the kitty, basket and fish.

Last step add your reinforcement rings to both your planner page and pocket page.

I hope today brought you some inspiration, have a wonderful crafty day.

Advent calendar

November 24, 2022

This time Advent falls exactly four weeks before Christmas. I had therefore decided that my advent calendar this year would not have 24 but 28 days. Normally I start with December 1, although that is of course not true when it comes to Advent. That also has to be processed in my planner, so I made a ticket for 28 days there. The page was created with the file folder page with pockets. On the page I pasted the curved library pocket.

In the top pocket I made the ticket with the 28 days (4 weeks) of Advent. It still has to be filled in but the 1st day, November 27, is already in it. I think I’ll put the tree up then. In the Library pocket I made an L.P. filler card that I stamped on, I made a tab on it, just because it’s possible, hihi.

The ticket I made with the Monthly overview stamp set also got some Christmas bulbs, 4, 1 for every week instead of candles. I did that with a homemade mold of sturdy paper and a Christmas bulb from the bookmark set. In the background a photo of the advent calendar I made.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Nice to see you again

Kind regards,

Marjolijn.

Finishing my Planner with Holiday Pages

October 13, 2022
Hello everyone, Annette Green here to share some fun and festive holiday pages. I’ve finally caught up in my scrapbook planner for 2021 and have created a video to show all the new dies and stamps I’ve used to make these last few pages. The Photo Pocket Pages are great for quickly popping photos inside and now even easier since we have Pocket Page Filler dies, as I talk about in the video. All supplies I’ve used are linked below the video as well.
The new Half Page dies are perfect for a layered look where you can see other pages peeking out behind them. Here I’ve used both the Half Page 2 and the Half Tab Page, along with accents from Sidekick Essentials 23 and new stamps (CS276 Circles with Sentiments and CS275 Peace & Joy).
The Lantern Page die is great for either a full page cut-out or simply for the lantern itself. I show in the video how easy it is to assemble. I’ve used some new page reinforcements also, which will be available soon.
The final page in my 2021 scrapbook planner is this pretty one featuring the new Holly Page die. In the video I share how I layered this die to help the holly stand out better on the black background. To finish off the page, I fussy cut some images from the Graphic 45 papers, Warm Wishes. Now my planner is officially complete! Thanks for popping in today. I hope you take a moment to watch the video.

Witch way to the candy?!

August 29, 2022

Yeah, I’m already itching a bit, could that be because of the mini-mini monsters or because Halloween is approaching?? Esther has again designed something beautiful, a die set for the Pocket Pages, Pocket Pages Fillers is the name of the set, so cool and handy! With that I made this page for my Halloween album this year. I’m also trying to make it a Day by Day for October, simply because I love Halloween, so much to live up to. Even though the kids are grown up, I still like to decorate the house. Not as extensive as when the children were small, but pumpkins, my witches, the broom and mini horror houses. I love it this time of year! Finally we slowly go to autumn, everything dies down a bit to bloom again next spring. The real horror is not for me but a little itch is allowed.

It looks like an ordinary page in my planner, but nothing could be further from the truth.

When you open the page, a lot of monsters appear that have found a tree full of candies. They lustily snack on it, until it even makes them a little nauseous.

It has become a Pop Up page.

So cozy that Pop-Up in your planner!

This decoration is stuck on the case with double-sided tape. Below is a description of how to create a Pop-Up in the Planner Page Fillers.

Take a strip of design paper of 11 x 22cm and fold it in half to form a card of 11 x 11cm.

Place it with the score line against the cut edge of your chosen die. I used the largest square from the Planner Page Fillers set 1974 from E.C.D. Secure the die with a piece of washi tape and run it through your machine.

You now have a card of 11 x 11cm with a beautiful border!

Place the chosen die from Joset’s General POP-UP set 1389 AGAINST the scoreline of your card.

Just to be safe, I secure the die with Washi tape. Then unfold the card and run through your machine again.

Now you have a nice POP-UP card but it doesn’t fit in your Pocket Page yet.

To do this, cut the bottom edges off the card. Slide the card into your Pocket Page

Fold the Pop-Up together as it will be and secure the cut edges to the Pocket Page with washi tape.

Now the fun starts!!! Dressing up your Pop-Up.

So get started quickly!

I hope you like this Pop-Up idea in de Pocket Pages and that you get inspired to make your own.

I really love the Pop-Ups!

Have fun with it!

See you next time,

Marjolijn.
