Baby Sidekick Planner

January 26, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here. Thank you for joining me here today. I have to tell you I am totally getting addicted to these sidekick planners. Last blog post I showed you the start to my pet planner. Now I thought I would get a start with a baby book as I have a few good friends at work that are going to be first time grandparents. So grab a coffee or a hot beverage and let’s get started.

Step 1: Start with selecting your favorite coordinating card stock and cut out two elephants out of Josets Elephant die, I Inked the edges with dark grey ink and added some pink for the checks.

Same thing with the little boy elephant as above.

Step 2: Take your favorite choice of baby designer paper and cut your base pages from Sidekick Essentials 3 & 6.

Step 3: Out of the same coordinating paper cut out 6- 3×4 waterfall pages and scored along the top @ 3/8″ so you can add your small photos to your pages.

Step 4: From Sidekick Essentials 1 – I cut out the photo frame and adhered velum behind it. I attached the heart clip from sidekick pocket filler pages 1.

Step 5: I used Planner Essentials 37 stitched letters and cut out the word BABY from the same coordinating paper.

Step 6: Last step I like to speckle my pages with a little white paint.

I hope you enjoyed todays blog post and that it brought you some inspiration, If you would like to see how I finish this book your can pop over to my Facebook page – Katie Porcina – as I will posting finish pictures soon. Have a wonderful and thanks for joining me.

Road Trip

January 25, 2023

Karen here! Back in December, my guy and I went on a very long road trip through California, Arizona and New Mexico along some parts of Route 66. We took his dog Sadie (who is surviving cancer and is such a sweetie). On the whole trip, I was envisioning using the Safari Jeep to make a Planner Essential page. I ended up doing both a Sidekick-sized page (for my “him and me” album) and a regular sized page (for Sadie’s album).

First up, the regular-sized Planner Essentials page for Sadie’s album. I used a Planner Essentials 4 for the base and added the Safari Jeep with a picture of us in the car. The jeep is cut with a combination of 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock and some brown and black cardstock. The jeep is so easy to put together as I used 101mm Double Sided Adhesive before die cutting for the pieces on top. The hearts down the side are from the Planner Essentials 40 set (and is die cut also with the 101mm Double Sided Adhesive. The huge arrow pointing to sweet Sadie is from the Library Pocket set. And I added a Fitted Circle die cut for interest.

On the back of the page, I added some cute pictures of her int he back of the car. The silver die cut on the side is also from the Planner Essentials 40 set. Car Vibes is cut with the stitched letters in the Planner Essentials 37 set. I added another couple Fitted Circles on top.

Next up, I adhered another jeep to the front of a large Stitched Circle die. I did a second pass on my die cutting machine with the Sidekick Essentials 5 (that lopped off the bottom of the circle and cut the holes). This page is for my Sidekick-sized Planner in which I keep memories of him and me.

On the back, I added a picture of our favorite stop (Sedona, AZ) and some journaling (along with another Fitted Circle. And for all these pages, of course, I added a fun reinforcements from one of the Reinforcement Variety Packs.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen

Starting my pet planner for 2023

January 13, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with my first blog post for 2023! I wanted to start the year off with my sidekick pet planner and pocket page set! So grab a coffee or your favorite beverage and lets get started!

Start with cutting your images from Josets cat die #1666 your favorite card stock, ink the edges with a slightly darker coordinating ink. I made three kitties for the example today 🙂 Yes these are the colors of my kitties Mocha, Grey (aka spooky) and the white cat is pumpkin.. We rescued her in October 2022 her name fits her personality cute as a pumpkin it just stuck, lol.

Next out of your choice of designer paper I cut a page from the Sidekick Essentials 4, the accessories are from sidekick – pocket fillers 1 & 2 .

Next cut pocket pages using your coordinating designer paper and sidekick-pocket fillers, I pop-dotted the kitty on top of my planner pocket.

Add your photo mat, heart clip and moments quote, I pop-dotted the kitty, basket and fish.

Last step add your reinforcement rings to both your planner page and pocket page.

I hope today brought you some inspiration, have a wonderful crafty day.

Sidekick planner page

December 27, 2022

The first page in my sidekick planner for the new year. Next year I want to make my weekly overviews in the sidekick planner and the special occasions in the Planner Essentials. No reason, just like that. I have no idea how I’m going to handle it further, my head is still full of Christmas, hihi. But the new year is coming, just a few more days and then it’s. No photos or journaling on this page because it has yet to come!

However, I have come up with the idea that I will make a page in this style for each month, with a note sheet on which I can write down the most important days, such as birthdays, for example. So no calendar sheet.

With the dies from the sidekick pocket page fillers I made 2 pockets by leaving them open at the top and sticking them on top of each other, so there is more room for a tag or something fun.

And I saw such a nice Technique, apparently Tim Holtz showed it, but I saw it from Lisanne, she made a YouTube video with it, at the very end of her Live broadcast.

Festive Winter Snow-globe | LIVE with Lisanne – YouTube

It’s really so much fun, I edited the Big Numbers with it. Distress ink, versamark, sticky powder and glitter. It just looks cold, brrrr. But how beautiful, those frozen numbers.

Here you see the monthly overview I talked about earlier, you slide it behind the big pocket. The tag is made with the inside of the large pocket page fillers from the sidekick. I stamped on it with a stamp from the Note Pieces set. I also stamped on the back and I’m going to use that side for my New Year’s resolutions, haha. Not that I have that much, but when it comes to working in my planner I do have some plans. I’m going to write it down on the back and then I can see next month whether I succeeded or whether I need to adjust my plans. I especially want everything from E.C.D. mixed up because I really have too many nice things that have rarely or even never been used.

Until now I really only wanted to show Planner stuff, but actually I personally prefer to use everything in it.

For this page, therefore, mix Sidekick and Planner Essentials together and also paper from the Art journal collection.

And further……

I just keep on doing what I was doing.

Happy New Year to all of you and see you next year.

With love,

Marjolijn.

Create Handmade Journals using File Folder Dies – 3 Ways

December 12, 2022
Hello, Annette Green back again with some fun handmade journals made from the General File Folder 1 and 2 die sets today. I’ve created a video below as I share how to make these 3 different ways, from easy to intermediate to more advanced in assembly.
The easiest style is the three-hole pamphlet stitch assembly. These little journals came together in a jiffy and would make great little gifts for the holidays or any occasion. In the video, I share some tips on prepping your pages and assembly in two different versions of this simple journal.
One is quite basic and the other is lined on the inside covers, stamped on the pages, and has a ribbon closure. For both I used the General File Folder 1 die set, and papers from 49 and Market and The Book 5 (coming soon!)
The intermediate journals are custom sized traveler’s notebooks which I show you how to make yourself in the video. For both journals I used Kraft Tex, but you can use leather, faux leather, or any flexible yet sturdy material as your base. The word plates on the covers of these are from Sidekick Essentials 1 (“Noted) and #14 Bookmark 1 (“moments”), and the label frames are from General File Folders 1.
The insides of each are similar in construction, but the black one simply contains pages and no file folder dividers. The tan one has three signatures with the file folder dies (both 1 and 2) along with plain pages inside for writing and notes. In the video you can see more details.
The more advanced book is a hard cover, stitched binding journal made with medium weight chipboard, papers from The Book 5 and 49 and Market and dies from both file folder sets as well.
There are six signatures in this book, each sewn into the inner spine binding. In the video, I take you through all the steps to this process.
This stitched binding is not difficult once you get the hang of it, and it’s certainly the most sturdy and book-like journal of all three styles.
I plan to use this hard cover book as my 2023 grateful journal, so watch for more on that in future posts. Thanks for joining me today, and I hope you take time to watch the video and try making your own journals. Enjoy!

Let the fun begin

December 9, 2022

Hi all, It is finally time to work with the prompts for December. This time I really wanted to play with the TN. It is a great size but also good to combine with the dies from Joset.

For this page I used the paper from Esther (Christmas Lives Here) and Soft Finish Cardstock. I used the straight page die and tore some Soft Finish Cardstock as snow.

On the left and right side I added a sentiment. This is a die from the Sidekick Essentials with holes but I trimmed the holes so I only have the sentiment.

I also die-cut some trees from the Sidekick Essentials. I used the two different sizes but also adhered them in different lengths. The snow layer is only adhered at the sides so I can put the trees behind the layer.

After that I made the Gnome using the paper from the Christmas Lives Here. Isn’t it a cute one.

And at the left I wrote the prompt at the signpost. Only adding some flakes for the snowy look and the page is done.

I hope you got some ideas. Thank you for visiting!

See you soon!

Kind regards Lisanne Geerdink

Cardmaking Joset Designs Planner Essentials Sidekick Essentials Soft Finish Cardstock

Label box

October 27, 2022

Hii all!

I’m here today with a new blogpost. I am very excited about this project because I can use a lot of different things. I used a Vignette Box from Tim Holtz filled with dies from Esther and Joset. It is such a fun project to fill.

As you can see I used a lot of different base dies. I used the cutting tags from the paperpad Christmas Lives here, Planner Essentials 42 (shapes, frames and words), the Library Pocket Filler Cards and the Nested Tags from Joset (1998). With these dies you can make a lot of different combinations. So let’s start with the first one.

I used the paper from Christmas Lives Here to start with. For this card I also used some corrugated cardboard and tear that. At the back I used a stencil with some icicle texture paste. Adhere the corrugated cardboard, a label and some holly with berries.

At the back I only made the lantern from the Lantern Page.

For the next card I stamped with the Peace and Joy stamp, Versamark and some red Embossing Powder. It is not that tight, but I like this for now. At the right I made a little tab.

At the back I used the stamp Crayons with Journaling Cards and another Holly with berries.

The next card is made with the Frames from Planner Essentials 42. Just die-cutting the full card with the beautiful bird and added a frame.

At the back of the frame I did some stamping, used an older label and added some tab behind the label. I also used the small trees from the Sidekick Essentials. And ofcourse some sparkling.

For the next card I started with some stencil and Ink for the background, added a part of the tree page and a small Nutcracker.

And at the back also some stamping with embossingpowder, some gifts and a stamped paperclip. I really love to make combinations with dies and stamps.

And last but not least I made these two tags with Santa and Mrs. Santa.

I think I told you everything for now haha. It is a long post this time, but I had some much fun making and sharing this. Below this post you can see all the used products.

Thankyou for visiting!

Kind regards

Lisanne Geerdink

Finishing my Planner with Holiday Pages

October 13, 2022
Hello everyone, Annette Green here to share some fun and festive holiday pages. I’ve finally caught up in my scrapbook planner for 2021 and have created a video to show all the new dies and stamps I’ve used to make these last few pages. The Photo Pocket Pages are great for quickly popping photos inside and now even easier since we have Pocket Page Filler dies, as I talk about in the video. All supplies I’ve used are linked below the video as well.
The new Half Page dies are perfect for a layered look where you can see other pages peeking out behind them. Here I’ve used both the Half Page 2 and the Half Tab Page, along with accents from Sidekick Essentials 23 and new stamps (CS276 Circles with Sentiments and CS275 Peace & Joy).
The Lantern Page die is great for either a full page cut-out or simply for the lantern itself. I show in the video how easy it is to assemble. I’ve used some new page reinforcements also, which will be available soon.
The final page in my 2021 scrapbook planner is this pretty one featuring the new Holly Page die. In the video I share how I layered this die to help the holly stand out better on the black background. To finish off the page, I fussy cut some images from the Graphic 45 papers, Warm Wishes. Now my planner is officially complete! Thanks for popping in today. I hope you take a moment to watch the video.

Winter wishes

September 10, 2022

Hii all, hope you’re all doing fine. So here in the Netherlands it is still warm for a few days. To cool down I made this winter card with Jack Frost. Still like him!

I started with a piece of Soft Finish Cardstock from 15 x 19 cm. I made a scoreline at 15 cm. That means you have a piece of 15 x 15 cm and 4 x 15 cm. At the piece 4 x 15 cm I made a border with the winter edges. It is a no ending die so it is perfect for this card.

After that I trimmed a piece of 15 x 15 cm from acetate and adhere this at the back of edges.

At the bottom I made some snow layers. I tear this pieces with my hand and put some Distress Ink at the edges. You can see the layers better now. I adhere the layers with double sided adhesive at the sides and bottom. The middle is open so I can put things between the layers.

Time to decorate the card with Jack Frost and some trees. The trees are from the Sidekick Essentials. Everything is coloured with Distress Ink, but you can use any medium you want.

At the top you can read a sentiment from stamp set CS148. I also made some sparkling snow with Stickles at the acetate.

I’ll hope you liked this post and got a new idea. You can make this card in different styles, a flower card will also be beautiful. So thankyou for visiting and see you soon!

Kind regards Lisanne Geerdink
