Remembered – Mini Album

August 11, 2021

Hello Friends and Welcome to the EC Designs Blog. It is Karan here to share a project with you.

I know it has been awhile since i have posted crafty projects with our big move almost behind us, i am slowly getting back to creating. My first project is using their floral stamps and beautiful floral dies creating a gorgeous mini album.

My first project back is Designed using Florals 13. Which i have shaped into Wild Roses. I matched the color of them with the paper i used in my project. Using a foam bud as my center.

Stamping the Blossom set out on Soft Petal Cardstock from Elizabeth Crafts with black archival ink, i decided to use my water brush and dab color from the same pad i used to create my florals. Salvaged Patina Distress Ink.

This project is designed as a mini folio on 49 and Market Accordion Flip Fold which comes with their new album as an insert. I thought it would make a perfect mini.

The inside i still want to decorate but my new scrap space is very much in boxes, but i promise i will add more photos when i get to my Planner dies.

I hope you have enjoyed my share with you today and I have  inspired you to create your own beautiful mini albums.

Creating Cascading Photo Flaps in your Planner

August 1, 2021

Hello again everyone, Annette Green here today with some planner pages featuring some of the brand new dies and stamps from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I’ve created a “Craft With Me” video at the end of this post showing how I designed my pages and an idea for making room for more photos. My theme for this spread was all about a sculpture exhibit here in Greenville, SC.

Because the sculptures were so impressive, I wanted to showcase the photos as large as I could. The solution was to use the new Planner Essentials 42 “3 x 4 Cards” die set with some added hinge attachments. I share how I achieved this in the video in detail.

Numbering the photos using the new Planner Essentials “Stitched Alphabet” die set helped to identify each sculpture to correlate to the journaling of the details.

I’ve also used Planner Essentials 40 “Number Page” die set for the grid accent on this page, as well as the actual page on the right. Mixing the use of Reminiscence The Book 1 and Rainbow of Happiness paper pad, there were many great options for color coordination and texture.

I love how the new “All the Details” stamp set worked out nicely for labeling and journaling each sculpture. The numbers you see stamped in green are from “Pieces of Life 1 Numbers & More” stamp set which fit perfectly in the boxes.

I hope you take a moment to watch the video below to see more details on the cascading photo flaps. All products used are listed below:

Garden-themed Mason Jar Junk Journal

July 14, 2021
Hello again everyone, Annette Green here to share my Garden-themed Mason Jar Junk Journal using the new Mason Jar Snow Globe special. The pages are a beautiful mix of papers, ephemera, sewing, fabric, vellum and kraft. I’ve created a Process Video (below) to share how it all came together along with some tips too, so I hope you have a moment to check it out.

The new set is SO much fun to create with. I’ve incorporated several stamp sets and a few additional dies in making this journal as well.

As I explain in the video, I’ve used both of the Reminiscence Books, with a few additional papers from Graphic 45. The big bee stamp is one I’ve had for years from Stampotique.

This is a nice thick album of about 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) before adding your photos or keepsakes.

The covers are made with a thick chipboard base and the rings I used are larger than the ones which come with the special. All the pages are cut from the Mason Jar die.

Some pages are cut from fabric like the one on the right (above). I’ve stitched around the edges on my sewing machine using a natural brown thread. Vellum seed packets slide under the band to hold seeds or keepsakes inside. I explain how I do all of this in the video.

Each page is unique in its style and texture. I’ve created a pocket for tags on this left page, and stamped the little girl for the right page.

To dress up some of the blank pages, I added various Journaling Cards from different Graphic 45 collections.

Watercolor paper sprayed with various Distress Sprays made the pine tress come to life on this page. I thoroughly enjoyed making this one-of-a-kind album and I hope you enjoy watching my process. All products I’ve used are listed below.

Springtime Nature Planner

July 1, 2021

Hello, it’s Annette Green here today with two spreads in my Nature Planner and a video walk-through of my process. Springtime in Greenville, SC is especially beautiful and since we are still new to the area, I’ve been in awe of this natural beauty and taking lots of photos.

Working in my Espresso Sidekick Planner, I have been documenting all sorts of nature. For my Spring photos, I chose to use the new Reminiscence The Book 2 papers with their bright and cheerful colors.
In the video, I share my method for beginning my pages, how I decide on the colors and then determine my photo sizes.
I am SO impressed with the beautiful macrame die-cut in this set! It cuts out perfectly and looks great on any page.
The stamps designed by Esther are fun to mix and match, especially these little girls in several of the sets.
I love how I don’t need a lot of embellishments to make a page look great. The paper collection has such a variety of cut-apart elements to choose from and layer together. I hope you take a moment to follow along in the video for a demo of how these pages came together. Thanks for stopping in today!

Florida – Virtual Travels

May 8, 2021

Karen here today. As things are starting to open back up, I’m getting more and more excited about the possibility of travel, and I’m still enjoying adding to my “Places I’ve Been” Journal. Today, I used the BEAUTIFUL new Rainbow of Happiness Papers to create a couple journal pages of my trip to Florida in 2006.

I love this fun, bright colorful paper and thought it perfect to use for pictures of fun, bright and colorful theme parks we visited in Florida! For the page base, I used Planner Essentials 3. I die cut a Fitted Heart and placed it off to one side and used letters from Planner Essentials 23 to cut the word “Florida” after backing that piece of paper with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive. (Makes assembly SO easy). I added a couple postage stamps and the little banners that were part of the Planner Essentials 3 set. Finally, I added a funny little sentiment using my Dymo labeler. And of course, no lay-out is done without some fun reinforcements. The small circles are part of the Reinforcement Variety Pack. The stars are part of a Planner Essentials that is no longer offered. The sentiment stamped into the tab is from the Family Stamps.

On the back of the page, I added a Giraffe (so cute) and used similar products to the front side. On our trip, we had the opportunity to pet and feed giraffes, and that adorable die marks that occasion perfectly. The “Wow Moment” stamp is from the Months Stamps.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today.

Craftily yours, Karen

Good Job – Graduation Layout

May 4, 2021

Good morning!
I am not a chronological scrapbooker. I scrapbook whatever I am inspired to, whenever I am inspired to, so I may scrapbook a photo from when our boys were little or from a couple of years ago when one of them graduated from high school. I find that I am much happier with my creations when I am inspired to create something. The beautiful colors from the Rusty Weather paper inspired me for this layout.

To create this layout:
Step 1 – Trim our papers to the following sizes: 1 at 12″x12″, 1 at 12″x11″, 1 at 12″x7″ and 1 at 12″x6″ and a photo mat. Distress all edges.

Step 2 – Die cut, ink and assemble 10 flowers and 4 leaves. I used florals 6, 8, 9, 1, 2, and 4.

Step 3 – Create your title and assemble as shown!

The Good Life – Seed Packet Mini Album

March 22, 2021

Hello Friends and welcome! It is Karan here to share a project I designed using the new Sidekick Release. For those who know how much I love albums, I also love to create mini albums too.

This one is designed using the Seed Packet Die from Sidekick Essentials 16.

To begin with I cut the seed pack out five times using paper from 49 and Market. I cut vellum to go on the inside of the packet for the window. I cut out extras thinking I might make the album larger but ended up going with 5 packets instead of 8.

Then I assembled them.

I then cut the side panel from the same sidekick set and created the pages and continued to decorate them. I love tags and cut out a tag for each page just as an added layer and photo mat for some of my photos. This tag was cut from Planner Essentials 2, which I also cut to go inside each opening of the Seed Packet page. I am going to share images from this little mini and then add the dies I used below. Hope you enjoy this mini project.

And then details for the cover:

I cut doubles for the large floral and the medium size floral for the cover, two sets of leaves and then I used the skeleton leaf from the Sidekick Essential 16 set. Ii love how the florals shape so beautifully.

I hope that I inspired you to create a mini album using this Seed Pocket Set. It makes a perfect little mini album.

Until Next time

Happy Scrapping!

My Virtual Travel to Illinois

March 5, 2021

Karen here. I’m still doing some virtual travel through my “Places I’ve Been” planner/journal. It’s been a kick to look back through old pictures and to create pages. Today’s creation is all about a trip to Chicago back in 2007. One of the highlights of the trip was a Cubs game at historic Wrigley Field, so I chose a color palette of blue and red.

I’ve been creating two-page layouts (front and back) for each place I document. The paper I used in this lay-out is from Reminiscence, The Book. Gorgeous papers in blue and red!

The page base I used in the lay-out is from Planner Essentials 28. I love the beautiful deckled edge on this particular base. The letters are from the Butterfly Pocket Insert dies.

On the backside, there was some words on the paper that I didn’t really want in my page, so I added the polkadot paper that I die cut with the Fitted Circles dies and then ran back through with the page base.

And I LoVe playing with reinforcements. I always add 101mm Double Sided Adhesive to the back of the paper before die cutting. The beige banners are cut from a die in the Reinforcement Variety Pack 1, and the stars are part of Planner Essentials 14.

Thank you for stopping by today. I have linked up the supplies below.

Craftily yours, Karen
