Deep Sea Adventure by Katie Porcina

June 8, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with todays blog post! I am super excited to use my Sea Creatures die set to create this super fun vacation planner set! so grab a coffee and lets get started!

Start with inking your edges of your first planner page base with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Next assemble your blue pocket and adhere as per the picture above. Ink all your pieces and assemble your fish.

I laid out my blue cheese cloth fish net and adhered my steering wheel, Seaweeds, Corals and Pop-dotted my fish.

On this page you have three pages the blue wood grain, acetate, and a light wood grain, start with inking your two pages. Next, assemble your fish and Octopus (See picture above) attach your acetate page to the back of your blue portal page, before you adhere your light wood grain page to the back slide your fish between the portal and the light grain paper. (Your fish is under the acetate) Now add your port windows and the “Black Summer” to the top window.  I added my coral and seaweed flat, the Octopus is pop-dotted.  Last step is to add your reinforcement rings and speckle with heavy white acrylic paint.

I hope today brought you some inspiration, Happy Creating!

If you have further questions in regards to how I created these pages, please send me a FB message at Katie Porcina!

Wishing you oceans of joy

June 7, 2023

Hii everyone,

Welcome at this new blogpost from me, Lisanne Geerdink. I made a sea/beach box for you this time. The weather is great to work with the sea collection from Joset. This blogpost will be full with step by step pictures because the box is made by myself. It is good to know that everything is in CM not inches.

So first we need a piece white cardstock from 9 x 30,5 cm and made scorelines at 9 cm and 18 cm.

At the same piece you have on the right a square from 9 cm x 9 cm. We need to cut out a window from 7 x 7 cm. This piece will be the back, bottum and front side.

Now we will cut the piece for the sides and top. For this part we need a piece of white cardstock from 28 x 10 cm. And we made a scoreline at 0,5 cm, 9,5 cm, 18,5 cm and 27,5 cm.

We also need to make two scorelines at the longest side at 0,5 cm and 9.5 cm. These lines will make the strip we can use to adhere everything together.

It is one long line now, we need to cut some pieces out of this line. You will see that in the next picture. All the grey parts need to cut out.

Now we need to make 5 squares with design papier from 8,9 x 8,9 cm. It is just a little bit smaller than the cardstock, but now it fits perfect. Two of this squares we adhere at the piece cardstock with 3 squares from 9 x 9 cm. It is also smart to put the double sided adhesive at all the strips, that will be easier later.

We also need a piece acetate from 8 x 8 cm. We will adhere this at the part we cut out a window.

Now we can adhere some parts together. You lay the piece with the window at your desk. First I adhere one strip at the left side at the bottom and the back. Once you do this you can adhere the three other strips. You have the box like the picture below.

Now we can put the pieces design paper in the box at the sides, bottom and top so you don’t see the stripes anymore. I also put a piece from the Mason Jar at one design paper. Now it looks like reef.

Now it is decorate time. So I coloured some weed, the sea turtle and the whale with Distress Ink for inside the box. I adhere these parts with the pop-up dies. You only need the put these dies through your machine with cardstock and cut the pieces out. Than you have one rectangle with a scoreline.

At the window I adhere sand that imagine the bottom of the sea. I used the dies from the sea weed set. In this set are also stones and weed. I coloured this also with Distress Ink and adhere this. Now we can adhere the front with window at the box. I also cut out a piece design paper from 9 x 9 cm and made the same window in it (7×7 cm).

I cut out 3 pieces from 9 x 9 cm, two for the left and right side and one for the top. For the back you need a piece of 9 x 12,4 cm. I made the oyster shell as base for the top of the box.

I made the light house and the sand crab for the beach part. Also with some shells and the sentiment ‘wishing you oceans of you’.

At least I put a shell and anchor at the front of the window. Now is everything done. I had so much fun making this project.

I hope you enjoyed it to, thanks for watching and see you next time!

Kind regards,

Lisanne Geerdink

Cut out the flowers and leaves and print the image on the Soft finished cardstock.

Color the leaves and the flowers

Take a stencil and blue Ink and decorate the Image with it.

Mat the Image on Blue Cardstock, and then place it on a card, put glossy accent on the glasses, I also had a piece of an earring, that’s fits on her ear.

On the next few photos you see how to place the flowers.

Put some stickles on the center of the big flower and draw stitches on the edge with a black marker.

By the Sea is where I want to be!

May 24, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with todays blog post. I wanted to change it up a bit using Esther Glasses Sea Creatures and create this super cool Steam Punk Easel Card. So grab your favorite beverage and lets begin.

Step 1: Start with creating the portal of your submarine, I used an older paper line from Stamperia, it has pipes and gears that would make it look like the inside of a sub. I cut the paper 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and used the circle from the pocket page fillers 2 and cut the Centre of the paper. The backside of this paper has the pipes and gears and I flipped the circle. Before adhering the circle, I placed a piece of acetate in-between the layers. Next, I took the two circle from the Pocket Pages filler 2 and created the black ring from card stock. I added the black bolts from Planner Essentials 48 to the 4 corners of the card.

Step 2: Cut out your Octopus and diving helmet from Seas Creatures out of your favorited designer paper or card stock, as well as the coordinating grasses and Sea Horse (I did use the Summer Art Journal collection but just realized it was discontinued, Sorry) But there are other sea horses out there. Ink your pieces with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and assemble.

Step 3: Create the rest of your easel card by use heavy white cardstock120lbs and cut your card base, 5 1/2 x 11 and score along the 11″ side at 5 1/2 and 2 3/4 and fold up your score lines, cut an extra 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 base page and attach your card front. If you take a look at my other blog post “A Pop-Up Shaker Snowman Card” you can see how to assemble. (Its very easy)

Step 4: Cut out your Happy Birthday from coordinating cardstock and Sea Accessories, and adhere to your card.

Last step I always like to speckle with Heavy White Acrylic paint.

I hope todays blog post brought you some inspiration, as its just another way to use this awesome Sea Creatures Planner die set from Esther Glass! Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!

Just Breathe

May 16, 2023

Hi everyone, It’s Tina here. I played with the Stencil Planners 3 to create Background and topped it off with the Daffodils Dies and the Honey Bear Dies for the Bees. Below are the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/2″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″ and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Add Distress Oxide Inks onto a Gel Plate. I used Uncharted Mariner, Rusty Hinge, and Lost Shadow. Use a brayer to spread and mix the inks. Place a Planner Stencil 3 on top of the inks. Remove the stencil and trimmed White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ on top. Remove the cardstock and let it dry for a few minutes.

Step 3 – Diecut Stitched Indented Rectangles using the panel created from Step 2. To add dimension diecut Stitched Indented Rectangles 2 times and adhere to the back of the panel. Adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Daffodils in various colors of Cardstock. Assemble and adhere to card front using Kid’s Choice Glue. For added dimension add some Foam Tape to the backside of the Daffodils.

Step 5 – Diecut Honey Bear (bees) in various colors of cardstock. Assemble using Kid’s Choice Glue and adhere to card front using Foam Tape.

Step 6 – Stamp Zen Sentiment on White Soft Finish Cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Diecut the sentiment using Fitted Fishtails. Optional: flip the sentiment and diecut a second time on the other side. Now you have both sides with fishtails. Adhere to card using Foam Tape on the edges and 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape in the center.

This card can be used for occasions by simply changing the sentiment and/or colors. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Cinco de mayo

May 5, 2023

Hi all, it’s Sylvia here again. Happy Cinco de Mayo! By mistake my blogpost from yesterday got switched with the one that should have been on the blog in 2 weeks so therefore you see me here 2 days in a row! Isn’t that fun?! 😉 So today I would like to show you this festive card, that can also be used as a square pocket page in your planner. Many people in the US and Mexico will celebrate ‘Cinco de Mayo’, so let’s have a little fiësta.

First cut a piece of cardstock 10×20 cm and fold it in half to get a 10×10 cm square card. Keep the fold at the top. Cut a mat of 9,7×9,7 cm in black.

Diecut from Soft Finish Cardstock as follows:

1859 farmer: hat rim

1995 holiday stocking: toe and decorative trims

1931 beaver: tail, hind legs you might want to opt for the arms instead of the legs, your choice

1982 filefolder 1: banner

1670 camping accessories: guitar, other option is the guitar from the retro bus set 1928

1991 mrs claus: trimmings

1707 halloween accessories: spoon 2 x (not in this photo, I added them later)

Diecut from set 2012 food truck both wheels (fold almost in half for the taco shell) from set 2013 the lettuce from the hotdog and the swirl sauce, from set 1990 (santa) all fluffy trims (for lettuce and meat) and from set 1931 (beaver) the 4 circles (2x) (for tomato and cucumber slices) and colour all parts to create a taco or 2. Arrange the food in the taco and glue it shut.

Diecut all separate letters ‘happy cinco de mayo’ from the month dies in set 2008 tickets & tabs.

Use a colour medium of your choice to colour all pieces in the main colours red, green and yellow. I used my markers for the small parts and distress ink for the larger ones.

Glue the stocking toe to the hat rim to form a sombrero. Use both the loop trimmings at the rim (trim off the extra) and use Mrs. Claus’ trimmings to decorate the top.

Glue the beaver legs on either side of the beaver tail to make a cactus. Decorate the spoons (see photo) to become samba balls /maracas. You might want to shorten them a bit.

Arrange the front of the card with the banner, cactus, guitar and samba balls. The sombrero will go on the in side.

Happy cinco de mayo to everyone and happy crafting to you all. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Love, Sylvia

Bee Tag Planner Page-By Katie Porcina

Hi everyone, Katie here with todays post. I wanted to create a small planner insert using Annette Greens New Everyday Elements Collection. So grab a coffee or your favorite beverage and lets get started.

Step 2: Cut your base page from your choice of designer paper (I used 49 & Market), Ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. S.W.A.K.

April 2, 2023

Hi all. Sylvia here. It’s my turn on the blog again. With Mother’s Day just around the corner in my part of the world, I would like to show you a sweet card that can be sent to all moms or MIL’s that do not live close to you. Are you ready to craft with me?

First diecut the birthday flip card from set 1980 in Soft Finish Cardstock and diecut the layers/mats from design paper of your choice. Also diecut the small envelop from David’s set 2015 Journal file XL 2 in a matching colour. (Photo 1)

Next cut a giftcard holder in designpaper and cut the slots in. For the slots you use the die that comes with the birthday flip card set. Also diecut 2 letters M from set 1863 stitched alphabet in coloured cardstock, 2 x a kiss (lips) from set 2009 in coloured cardstock plus the corresponding solid 2x in Soft Finish Cardstock and optional: the smallest heart from set 1265 (also in coloured cardstock). (photo 2, I added the second kiss afterwards, so it is not in this photo)

Step 3: glue the mats from designpaper to the flip card and assemble the little envelop and both of the kisses. Align both M’s with one of the kisses to form the word Mom, one kiss representing the O in the word MOM and centre it on the card (photo 3).

Use the second kiss as closure to the little envelop. In the envelop you can put a sweet note for your mom to tell her how much you love her! Finally another option: diecut a banner from set 1390 in coloured cardstock, stamp I love you on it, and adhere that right under the word Mom. This is optional.

Instead of a giftcard, you could also put an extra note card at the position of the giftcard and glue the little heart on it. (photo 4)

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Crafting

Sylvia
