Hey Friends! It’s EK, popping in today to share a new card making project using Ilse and Charlene’s stamps and dies. I have seen so many amazing projects using these products in both planners and art journals, and was wondering if I could create something easily awesome on an A2 card. With the combination of ECD’s Watercolor Palette, I think i came up with something pretty sweet!

Step One: One a piece of Watercolor Paper, watercolor an ombre of blue from the Watercolor Palette. Let dry.

Step Two: On another piece of Watercolor Paper, stamp using watercolor safe ink several images from the Spring Fling stamp set.

Step Three: Using the Watercolor Palette and a very loose hand, watercolor the stamped images.

Step Four: Fussy cut out the images.

Step Five: Using the Bubbles die, die cut the ombre watercolor paper.

Step Six: Adhere both the positive and negative Bubbles die cut onto an A2 card frame using a liquid adhesive. I used Kids Choice Glue.

Step Seven: Adhere the fussy cut Spring Fling floral images onto the card frame.

Step Eight: Die cut the sentiment from the ombre watercolor paper using the Words 2 -Thinking of You die set. I die cut each word three times so that the sentiment would have dimension. Adhere the words on top of each other.

Step Nine: Adhere the sentiment onto the card frame.

I Just love how the Bubbles die creates such a unique and interesting background with very little effort. If you haven’t check out the full line of Ilse and Charlene’s stamps and die make sure you pop over. It isn’t just for planners or art journals. It is perfect for all your crafting projects!

Imagine Wall Hanging

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Imagine Wall Hanging.

To create my Imagine Wall Hanging, I’ve used a variety of dies, stamps and stencils from Charlene and Ilse’s Art Journal Specials Collection as well as dies from Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my wall hanging at home.

Step One. Die cut a 4 3/4″ Stitched Indented Square out of Black Cardstock. Distress the edges of the square.

Step Two. Die cut a 4 1/4″ Stitched Indented Square out of a piece of book page. Place the Storytelling stencil in the middle of the square. Using a palette knife and Texture Paste Opaque Matte through the stencil. Remove the stencil and allow the stenciled area to dry. Once the square is dry, distress the edges of the square. Ink the edges of the square using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Die cut the Bubbles out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the entire surface of the bubbles. Sprinkle Burnt Copper Leaves embossing powder over the entire surface. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Four. Die cut the right Ornate Gateway die out of kraft cardstock. Ink the edges of the gateway using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. From the Streetlights die, die cut the street lamp out of black cardstock.

Step Six. Die cut one of the blooming branches from the Blooming Branches die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the other bloom out of a piece of book page.

Step Seven. Choose two of the leaves from the Spring Fling Stamp Set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to both stamps and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Colour the leaves in using the Watercolour Palette and a waterbrush. Once the images have dried, fussy cut them out. Ink the edges of the leaves using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eight. Next, you’ll need the cotton stamp from the First Sights of Spring Stamp Set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the stamp and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Colour the cotton in using the Watercolour Palette and a waterbrush. Once the image has dried, fussy cut it out. Ink the edges of the cotton using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Nine. From the Morning Letters Stamp Set, you’ll need the letters to spell out Imagine. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to each of the letters and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish cardstock to spell the word imagine. Fussy cut the word out. Ink the edges of the word using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Ten. Adhere the 4 1/4″ stitched indented square to the 4 3/4″ stitched indented square.

Step Eleven. Adhere the bubbles to the middle of the 4 1/4″ stitched indented square. Foam square the ornate gate to the middle of the bubbles. Adhere the street lamp to the middle of the ornate gate.

Step Twelve. Adhere the first blooming branch overtop and to the left of the street lamp. Adhere the other blooming branch overtop and to the right of the street lamp. Adhere one of the stamped branches slightly overtop of the left blooming branch. Adhere the other stamped branch slightly overtop of the right blooming branch.

Step Thirteen. Foam square the cotton image to the middle of the branches making sure that you can see part of the street lamp. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the imagine word to the right side of the cotton.

Step Fourteen. Punch two holes at the top of the 4 3/4″ stitched indented square. Tie a piece of twine through the two holes to create the hanging part for your wall hanging.

We Are Stronger Together Wall Hanging

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my We Are Stronger Together Wall Hanging.

To create my We Are Stronger Together Wall Hanging, I’ve used a variety of dies, stamps and stencils from the Art Journal Specials Collection as well as a couple of dies from Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my wall hanging at home.

Step One. Die cut a 4″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Place the Spring Flower Mandala Stencil on the left hand side of the rectangle. Use a palette knife and put Texture Paste Opaque Matte through the stencil. Remove the stencil. Allow the stenciled image to dry. Once the image is dry, spray Distress Spray Stain in Cracked Pistachio and Wilted Violet over the stenciled image. Once dry, ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. From a piece of book page, die cut a 4 1/2″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle Die. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Die cut a 1 1/2″ Diagonal Stitched Fishtail out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut a 1 1/8″ Diagonal Stitched Fishtail out of Book page. Ink the edges of both fishtails out of Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. From the Budding Florals die, die cut the single bud out of black cardstock.

Step Five. From the Blooming Branches die, die cut the heart branch out of a piece of book page.

Step Six. Die cut the the lamp standard from the Streetlights die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the lamp standard. Sprinkle Boho Blends – Wrought Iron Embossing Powder over the entire surface of the lamp standard. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Seven. Die cut the the Bubbles from the Bubbles die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the Bubbles. Sprinkle Peppered Chantilly Embossing Powder over the entire surface of the bubbles. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Eight. From the Budding Florals die. Die cut the bud strip out of kraft cardstock.

Step Nine. Die cut the left hand side of the Ornate Gateway out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the gate. Sprinkle Hammered Metal Embossing Powder over the entire surface of the gate. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Ten. Choose one of the girls from the Floral Girls stamp set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the girl stamp and stamp onto a piece of watercolor paper. Colour the girl in using the Watercolor Palette. Once the image has dried, fussy cut the girl out. Ink the edges of the girl using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eleven. Apply Emboss It Ink to the We Are stamp from the Words & Layers stamp and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the stronger together words from the same stamp set and stamp onto the same piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Boho Blends – Wrought Iron Embossing Powder over the We Are and stronger together words. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Fussy cut the We Are out and cut the stronger together into a strip. Ink the edges of the We Are and strip using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Twelve. Adhere the 4″ stitched rounded rectangle to the 4 1/2″ stitched rounded rectangle.

Step Thirteen. Adhere the 1 1/2″ fishtail 1/4″ from the left and 1/4″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle. Adhere the 1 1/8″ fishtail 3/4″ from the left and 1/2″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle. Adhere the bubbles die cut 1/8″ from the left and 1/4″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle.

Step Fourteen. Adhere the gate overtop of the bubbles and fishtails. Foam square the bud strip to the middle of the gate. Adhere the light standard and single bud as desired to the middle of the bud strip.

Step Fifteen. Foam square the girl 1″ from the right and 1/2″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle. Use foam squares to adhere the We Are words 1″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle and close to the girl. Adhere the stronger together word strip 3/8″ from the right and 3/4″ from the bottom of the 4″ rectangle.

Step Sixteen. To finish the wall hanging, punch two holes at the top of the 4″ rectangle. Tie a piece of twine through the top of each hole.

You, Me & The Sea

Hey Friends! It’s EK and I am back today with a brand new card where I not only mix coloring mediums, but also mix different releases. Today I have combine both an old stamp set and a new die set. I thought it would be really fun to take one of Joset’s recently released die sets and combined it with a separate older line stamp set. Together, the two, I think the the two make the perfect pair. I just love how fresh and fun Joset’s Mermaid die set looks with the Color My Flowers stamp set.

Step One: Die cut the Mermaid die set from some 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Two: Using alcohol markers, color the different pieces of the Mermaid. I used my copics. Using Kids Choice Glue, assemble the pieces to make the mermaid.

Step Three: On a piece of watercolor paper, stamp the flowers and leaves from the Color My Flower stamp set around the edges using a watercolor safe ink. Float a few time the smallest flower in the middle of the cardstock.

Step Four: Using ECD’s new Watercolor Pallette, watercolor the background of the cardstock with Prussian Blue. Let dry.

Step Five: Using a combination of other watercolors, paint the flowers and leaves, keeping it light and pale.

Step Six: Stamp a sentiment from the Splish Splash Sentiments stamp set onto the card using black ink.

Step Seven: For some extra fun, adhere an action wobbler onto the back of the mermaid.

Step Eight: Using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the watercolor paper to an A2 card frame. Then adhere the action wobbler to the card frame.

I just love how much extra fun the wobbler adds to the card.

Good morning! Laura here today to share a beach layout I created using the new stencils and watercolor paints!

To Create this layout;

Step 1: Cover your white soft finish cardstock with clear gesso on both front and back to help stop warping allow to dry or heat set with your heat gun.
Step 2: Use your Spring Flower Mandala stencil on the left side of your paper and a few of the leaves in the upper right corner of your sheet and your Dot Dot Dot stencil with texture paste along the middle. Heat set or allow to dry.

Step 3: Using the Prussian Blue from the watercolor palette cover the stencil areas and around the stenciled areas. Apply as many layers as you want to achieve your desired look. I went over it three times heat setting in between layers.
Step 4: Using the turquoise blue from the same palette apply to the outside of the darker blue area and along the left hand side of the page.

Step 5: Die cut many flowers using your favorite ECD flowers dies using coffee filters. I used the small flower set, large flower set, and bunch of flowers. Color them using the same blues from the palette.
Step 7: Using foam dots or cardboard to add dimension add your matted photo.
Step 7: Add your flowers, shells, sequins beads and art stones.

Step 7: Add your title piece.
Step 8: Cover only your photo with a piece of paper. Using watered down white gesso, paint or white mist create splatters.

Karen here today from Craftily Yours! I hope everyone is finding reasons to stay positive during this difficult time. Scrapbooking good memories is a great way to do just that. Today’s Planner Essentials page is about a great time I had meeting an online crafty friend during my trip to DC last Winter. She and I had known each other for many years but had never met! On top of thinking about that fun memory, I used the new Art Journal line by Ilse and Charlene to make the page extra pretty!

Cardmaking Stamping Watercolor Palette

We can all use a little sunshine in our lives right now. It’s Sandy Diller here with you today. I just received my ECD Watercolors in the mail and had to use them right away. I am not a watercolor artist by any stretch of the imagination, I’m a crafter. That being said, I had lots of fun creating this card and love how bright and sunny it is.

There are some fun details to share with you – so let’s get started!

I began with the ECD Watercolor Paper. It is 4″ wide so it’s perfect for an A2 card.

I put the paper in my Misti tool and placed this lovely background stamp where I wanted it. The stamp is much bigger than the paper so it was positioned where I have the images I want. The stamp was inked up with VirsaMark ink and stamped. I added white embossing powder then heat set it.

Since I’m new to watercolor, I had to go out to the garage and find a board that would work. I found an old shelf from a wall unit we no longer have so it was perfect for this use. The shelf is laminated – so it’s great for watercolor. The paper was taped to the board in order to keep it flat. OK, ready to go!

The watercolor set comes with a water brush so mixing up the paint couldn’t be easier. I simply dropped some water on the color. The only extra thing I needed was a piece of paper towel. I covered the entire embossed image with pink and then dropped a little yellow here and there. Then came the hardest part, waiting for it to become completely dry.

Once the background was dry, I began painting the additional colors on the flowers and leaves. When adding the additional colors, you will see how the pink and yellow base coat combines with the new colors. Then once again, wait for it to dry.

While my watercolor panel was drying I gathered up the rest of the card elements. I made the base of the A2 card by cutting a panel from a pretty yellow cardstock that was 5.5″ by 8.5″ and then scored down the center. Using the Rounded Stitched Rectangles – a white panel and then the watercolor panel was cut. “hello sunshine” was stamped and then cut with the Stitched Fishtail Banner die set. Now all we need is easy assembly for a bright and sunny card.

Once everything was dry, some clear ECD Craft Drops were added. Weather you are an artist or crafter, this watercolor set is something you will want to add to your supplies.

Hello Crafters, today it is Luciana here with a planner spread. This is an example on how you could make several planner inserts using the same technique.

Cut out the ticket page from the set Planner Essential – 11, using the white soft cardstock. Use the distress oxide ink pad to color the edges of the ticket.
Than cut a rectangle and the pattern with the letters from the Planner Essential – Planner Patterns. and color both with the same color. Use the stamp from the set Planner Essential – Patterns 2 to create a more interessing background. Distress the edge of the rectangle with a distress tool ( the edge of the scissors eventually works too ).

Glue together the three layers, it will seem like and embossed background.

Prepare the decoration for the planner insert. Die cut from the white soft cardstock 4 pieces of photoframe, using the die from the set Planner Essential – Planner Filmstrip. Adhere together the 4 pieces, to create a heavy frame.

Stamp on a watercolor sheet the leaves from the stamps set A Field of Flowers. Color the leaves with the watercolors, and than cut the twigs with the scissors

Adhere the frame on the ticket insert, and use the twigs to embellish it, as shown in the pictures below.

Stamp the sentiment “Remember the now” from the stamps set Planner Essential – Remember, on a white soft cardstock. Cut out the rectangle and adhere it on the frame of the insert.

I used the same technique to create other two planner insert.
In the first on the left I used:
the tag die from the set Planner Essential – 4 ;
the photo frame die from the set Planner Essential – 4 ;
the patterns with the numbers from the set Planner Essential – Planner Patterns ;
the sentiment “Hello Everyday life” from the set Planner Essential – Retro Labels Sayings ;

For the insert on the right side, I used:
the die from the set Planner Essential – 5 ;
the photo frame die from the set Planner Essential – 4 ;
the patterns with the rose from the set Planner Essential – 6 .
