Hello everyone, it´s Sanna Lippert here and it´s time for my December guest blog post tutorial. It has been snowing a little here in Austria the past few days which inspired me to create a set of clean and simple Christmas cards using Shimmer Sheetz, the Ornate Snowflakes die set and Holiday Cheer clear stamp set.
Here is how I created the cards:
Step 1: Die cut one or two snowflakes from White Soft Finish Cardstock as shown in the photo below.
Step 2: Release the die cut snowflakes from the dies and poke out the little pieces.
Step 3: Apply Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape onto the rectangle from which the snowflake (or snowflakes) were die cut to create the background for the card front.
Step 4: Adhere a piece of Shimmer Sheetz behind the open areas.
Step 5: Add more Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape onto the back of the Shimmer Sheetz and adhere to a white card base.
Step 6: Adhere the die cut snowflakes onto the open areas with small dots of Kids Choice Glue. (Apply with a corsage pin or toothpick – only a tiny amount is needed.)
Step 7: Place the card into a stamping platform/positioner tool and stamp a sentiment with black ink.
Step 8: Decorate the card with faux stitching, star-shaped gems or other embellishments. Other options – Change to other Shimmer Sheetz colors, heat-emboss a sentiment in gold or silver.
Shimmer Sheetz adds an elegant touch to the simple card idea – just take a look at the lovely sparkle peeking through the snowflakes!
Here are the finished cards:
