Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here.
Today I want to share with you the technique of creating glitter plaid patterned paper using the Pop It Ups Stripes/ Plaid Stage It stencil and Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Adhesive with the Silk Microfine Glitter.Instructions:
1. Cut 2 pieces of ivory cardstock to 5 ¼” x 4” and tape one piece under the stencil using temporary adhesive
2. Using the stage it stencil, ink green ink using a finger dauber on the thin stripes. The ink the larger strips with the red ink
3. Repeat the process with the second piece of cardstock.
4. Clean the stencil and flip it over and repeat the process using the green and red inks.
6. Remove the backing strips from the DSA. Sprinkle Antique Gold Silk Microfine Glitter onto the cardstock. Tap off the excess, brush, and polish the glitter.
7. Add stripes of 3 mm DSA on the remaining open areas. Remove the backing and add Regal Green Silk Mircofine Glitter.
8. Rotate the stripes of DSA and repeat the glittering process using the Antique Gold Silk Mircofine Glitter
- Add your 3mm DSA and glitter with the Regal Green Silk Microfine Glitter.
Your patterned paper is complete and ready for a project. Here I have added it to the front and inside up my Merry Christmas Pop Up Card.

Beautifully done. I can see so many different uses for this stencil – Shades of blue and green for St. Patties day, etc. Looking forward to giving it a go.
