Hi everyone,

It’s my turn to post a tutorial on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog today. Christmas is now only a month away, and in my family we like to start decorating our house on December 1st so for my tutorial today I have created a fun decoration using the Gingerbread Man and Lollypop die sets.

I have made my banner using three Gingerbread Men and four lollypops, but of course you can make yours as long as you want depending on where you wish to use it. I have also made my decoration double-sided so it can be hung on a window, in a doorway, etc., so looks good whichever side you look at it. This, of course, is optional depending again on where you will be using the decoration.

Here’s how I created my project:

1. Using the Gingerbread Man die set, die cut the following:

  • (3) Solid Gingerbread Men from White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back
  • (6) Detail Gingerbread Men from White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back
  • (6) Sets of Icing Trim from White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back
  • (6) Sets of Buttons from White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back

Using a blending tool and ink pad, add color to all the pieces:

  • Solid Gingerbread Men – add brown ink to both sides of card
  • Detail Gingerbread Men – add brown ink to front of image
  • Eyes & Mouth – add black ink
  • Buttons – add green ink
  • Ribbon – add red ink
  • Icing – leave white.
  • Assemble the Gingerbread Men using the 3 solid bodies and 3 detail bodies as per photo above. (do not assemble the back at this stage)

2. Using the Lollypop die set, die cut the following:
  • (8) Solid Lollypops from White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double  Sided Adhesive Tape on the back
  • (8) Pinwheel Lollypop Layer from White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double  Sided Adhesive Tape on the back
  • (3) Bow from White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double  Sided Adhesive Tape on the back
Using a blending tool and ink pad, add color to all the pieces:
  • Solid Lollypops – leave white
  • Pinwheel Lollypop Layer – add red ink
  • Bows – add red ink
  • Trim off the bump from the Solid Lollypop. Layer the red Pinwheel Layer to white solid lollypop.
  • Use the bows to decorate the Gingerbread we created in step 1.

3. Cut a length of red ribbon long enough to fit all the Lollypops and Gingerbread Men plus enough to tie a loop on each end. (mine is about 20 inches)

  • Tie a loop on one end of ribbon.
  • Remove protection backing from one of the lollypops and lay the ribbon to the centre of the lollypop.
  • Add a strip of Clear Double Sided Tape across the arms of the Gingerbread Man and attach it to the ribbon next to the lollypop.
  • Continue alternating lollypops and Gingerbread Men until you have added all three Gingerbread Men and 4 lollypops.
  • Tie a loop at the other end of the ribbon.

  • Add the remaining Gingerbread Man detail layers and lollypops to the back of the banner.
  • Add a Gold/Silver Glitter Dot Peel Off Sticker to the centre of each lollypop.
