Happy 4th of July

June 21, 2020

Hello everyone,

It’s Sandy Diller with you today to share a fun, colorful and easy 4th of July easel card. I love the crisp patriotic colors of this card and hope that you do as well. One of our favorite things to do in the summer is to have friends over for a BBQ. My hubby is an excellent griller so his talents are put to work in the best way for these events.

Let’s get started on the card –

The card base for this card is 5.5″ X 11″, scored on the long side at 5.5″ and 2.75″. Shown above – cut from white Soft Finish Cardstock.

Using the Stitched Hexagons, cut the largest one from red, the next size down from blue and the next sized down from white. Using the Happy Birthday Collection stamp set – stamp “Have an awesome Day”

Using the Stitched Rectangles, cut one panel from red and one panel from white. Using the Summer Sentiments stamp set – stamp “Happy 4th of July”.

Using the Backyard Barbeque die set – cut the BBQ, the flames, the cooking utensils and watermelon from colors of choice.

Fold card base on crease lines. Add largest hexagon (lining up points on crease) – glue only half of hexagon to smallest section of card base.

Add blue hexagon – turning it in opposite direction.

Add white panel to top of blue panel.

Add BBQ with flames. Optional, cut partial BBQ from contrasting color to add to legs and lid.

Assemble watermelon – add to greeting panel.

Add greeting panel (using pop up dots or foam tape) to inside lower section of card.

Add final touches and open card to standing position.

Enjoy your 4th of July and eat some barbeque,

Sandy
