Happy Birthday To You Card

August 3, 2020

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. The new Fairy release has 3 new Background dies. Organic Triangles, Floral Burst and Leaf Pattern. I love background dies because you can diecut and use them as is or they can be used as a stencil. Background dies make it super easy to create any occasion cards in no time at all. Just diecut the background die, applying ink before or after and add a big bold sentiment. Below you will find the steps to create your own Happy Birthday to You card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”. Diecut Floral Burst Background. The diecut will be your stencil.

Step 3 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”. Apply Ink of your choice filling the Cardstock. I inked using the colours of a rainbow. I used Distress Oxide Inks. Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Ripe Persimmon, Dusty Concord, Tumbled Glass, Moved Lawn, Cracked Pistachio.

Step 4 – Place the stencil created from Step 2 on top of the panel. I used some Pixie Spray on the backside and some Painter’s Tape to secure it. Apply Black Ink all over. Remove the stencil. This technique is called a Reverse Stencil Technique. Trim the edges and adhere to the card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 5 – Stamp Hello sentiment onto White Soft Finish Cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Trim the edges and adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 6 – Optional – For added interest and sparkle randomly adhere Jewels.

This card can be used for many occasions by changing the colours and sentiment. The Floral Burst Background die will be available in the shop this week. Below is a link to the product list. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting.
