Happy Christmas Card by Suzanne Cannon

Hi there! It’s Suzanne here today, with a card that is a shout out to all the fine people in the U.K. who greet one another with the joyful “Happy Christmas”!  Although there is no Happy Christmas set in the A Way With Words line, you can easily mix and match dies to get many perfect combinations, so today I’ve added “happy” from the Happy Birthday 2 set to “Christmas” from Merry Christmas (#1235).

Here is how you can make this card:

  1. Form a 6×6” tent-fold card from Misty Mauve Cardstock.
  2. Die cut “happy” and “Christmas from cardstock which has Clear Double Sided Adhesive adhered to the front of the cardstock. Removed the release paper and cover in glitter. Brush off excess glitter and return to container. Polish the glittered surface with your finger to bring out the sparkle.Happy Christmas detail Suzanne Cannon
  3. Cut a panel from mauve patterned paper measuring 5.5 x 4.5”. Die cut the largest Postage Stamp Rectangle from pale green patterned paper. Position larger Entwined Circle die in the center of this panel and die cut.
  4. Die cut larger Entwined Oval from darker green paper and discard the negative space diecuts. Die cut Flourishes from mauve paper and leaves from dark green paper.
  5. Assemble the panel by adhering the Postage Stamp Rectangle panel centered on the larger mauve panel. Inlay and adhere the dark green Entwined Oval first and then the negative space piece from the light green as shown.Happy Christmas Card detail by Suzanne Cannon
  6. Adhere glittered words. If you need some tips for keeping the words straight as you apply them to the panel, watch this short video!
  7. Adhere flourishes, leaves and bow to the bottom of the panel. Adhere the panel to the card front using foam adhesive tape to give it some dimension. Designer Tip: If you have Glitter Dots handy, they are perfect for the little dots on the Entwined Ovals! I substituted dots made from Clear Double Sided Adhesive (see photo at the top of this post) which I glittered with the same colour I used for the words.

Happy Christmas wherever you may be!
