Hoppy Pop It Ups Wednesday with Fran

June 22, 2016

Hi crafters! It’s Fran from Karen Burniston’s Design team for another Pop It Ups Wednesday. Today I’m going to show you a shaker card with Hoppy the Frog Pop It Up.

PIU Hoppy Shaker 01

This is the front – using the heart from the Oval Pull Card and sentiment from Karen’s new Clear Stamp – Baby.

PIU Hoppy Shaker 01 open

On the inside is Hoppy – just waiting to be kissed while he sits on the Lucy Label Pop Up. Here’s how it goes together.

PIUW step 01  PIUW Step 2

I started with a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of White Soft Finish Card stock and drew some lines on the back to give me my spacing. The lines, from the bottom up, are 1/4, 1/2, 1 3/4, 2, 3 1/4, 3 1/2, 4 3/4 and 5.  I placed the heart die from the Oval Pull Card in the larger spaces and die cut the shape – 3 spaces, 3 times.  See photo!

PIUW Step 3  PIUW Step 4

I covered the openings with some acetate and used a thick, foam tape to outline the hearts. I’m using a very “off” contrast in the photo to better show what I did. Then I filled the little blocks with sequins.

PIUW Step 5  PIUW Step 6

Cover the back of the sequin area with another piece of white card stock (mine was 2 x 4 3/4) making sure to trap the sequins inside.

PIUW Step 7

Use a strong adhesive on the backing and adhere to the front of your card and shake!

For Hoppy the Frog, I added a glittered heart to his front and some small hearts to the background. The sentiment was computer generated and place on a piece of silver paper.

Now to pop it in the mail to my newly engaged friend!  Hope you’ve enjoyed this card!

Hugs, Fran
