How to Create a Inspire Pocket for your Planner

July 23, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you How to Create a Inspire Pocket for your Planner.

To create my Inspire Pocket, I’ve used a variety of dies and stamps from the Planner Essentials Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my pocket at home.

Step One. From the Planner Essentials 26 – Planner Pocket 4 – Tag & Toppers, die cut the pocket twice out of kraft cardstock. Place the pockets in front of you, making sure that on one pocket the angle faces right and on the other pocket the angle faces left. From the Background Stamps 1, you’ll need the chicken wire stamp. Apply Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink to the stamp and stamp randomly over the entire surface of both pockets. Fold the edges and then ink the edges of both pockets using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Add adhesive to the flaps on each pocket and adhere the two pockets together.

Step Three. Mark three holes on your pocket. One hole will be 1″ from the top and 1/4″ from the left of the pocket. The second hole will be 1 3/4″ from the top and 1/4″ from the left of the pocket. The third hole will be 1 1/8″ from the bottom and 1/4″ from the left of the pocket. Using a 1/4″ hole punch, punch the three holes you just marked.

Step Four. Choose a reinforcement from the Reinforcement Variety Pack. Die cut the reinforcements out of a piece of black cardstock. You’ll need a total of six reinforcements.

Step Five. From the Planner Essentials 26 – Planner Pocket 4 – Tag & Toppers die, die cut the stitched banner out of White Soft Finish Cardstock, the inspire word out of kraft cardstock and the tab out of whatever colour you want. I went with a yellow/orange colour cardstock. Ink the edges of the banner and tab using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Six. From the Planner Label die, die cut the 1 3/8″ square label out of black cardstock.

Step Seven. Adhere three of the reinforcements over the three holes at the front of your pocket.

Step Eight. Flip the pocket over and adhere the other three reinforcements over top of the holes on the pocket.

Step Nine. Adhere the tab to the top of the 1 3/8″ square. Foam square the 1 3/8″ square 3/4″ from the right and 1/2″ from the bottom of the pocket.

Step Ten. Adhere the stitched banner to the middle of the 1 3/8″ square. Adhere the inspire word to the middle of the stitched banner.

Step Eleven. Slide in whatever you want in your pocket, I put in a note piece that I made a while back. For some extra reinforcement, I add mini staples to the top left, bottom left, top right and bottom right of the pocket.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Inspire Pocket.

Katelyn
