Lilacs

June 1, 2018

Good Morning.  This is Selma Stevenson today.  I have designed a card using Susan’s Garden Notes Lilac 2 die set and her new Garden Notes Frame-It Stitched Ovals dies.

Here is how to make this card.

Step 1.  Make a 5 x 6 1/2 inch card base from purple cardstock.  Cut a piece of white cardstock to fit front of card.  Use the Garden Notes Stitched Ovals die set and tape the three largest ovals, centered on this piece of  cardstock.  Run through the die cutting machine to create four pieces in one pass: A large frame (the 5 x 6 1/2 piece of cardstock), two die cut oval-shape frames, and a die cut oval. TIP: Back with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape before die cutting so all pieces will lie flat when assembled in step 3.

Step 2.  Use the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder to emboss the center oval.

Step 3.  Use a Score Board to score around the edges of the 5 x 6 1/2 inch piece to create decorative raised ridges on all four sides. Adhere to card front. Fit and adhere the die cut oval frames and embossed oval back inside the largest frame.

Step 4.  Use the Garden Notes Pottery Pitcher die set for the container.  Back a piece of lavender vellum with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet. Add a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive to the front of the white cardstock. Die cut both the vellum and white cardstock using the Pottery Pitcher die.  Use an embossing folder to add texture to the vellum.

Step 5.  Use the Garden Notes Bouquet Stems and Branches die set to die cut green stems.  Place the stems over the adhesive side of the white die cut pitcher, with the top of the stems above the top of the pitcher. Add the embossed pitcher. For added dimension and realism, adhere the pitcher to the card front using foam tape in the center and glue at the edges and bottom only so the pitcher will be curved (rounded). Leave the TOP edger of the pitcher OPEN.

Step 6.  Using the Garden Notes Lilac 2 die set, create 3 sets of lilacs.  Color, shade and shape as shown. Attach the lilacs over the stems at the top of the pitcher.  Attach the leaves as shown.

Step 7.  Stamp and die cut the sentiment using the word ‘love’ from the Sentiments 2 – Just Because stamp and die sets.
