Love You Card with Striping Technique

March 8, 2018

Hello, y’all crafters. Happy Thursday! This is Siqi with another blog post for Elizabeth Craft Designs. In today’s card, I did a very simple but fun background with a technique that I called striping. It’s really easy and quick to do so let’s dive right in.

Step 1 – Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25″ x 5.5″.

  • Use several pink and red Distress Ink cubes to repeatedly swipe across the panel.

Step 2 – Die cut the Trio of Leaves twice from translucent vellum.

Step 3 – Cover a piece of  White Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. Die cut it using the “Love You” word dies from the Words 2 – Thinking of You die set, making sure that the adhesive is on the front of the words.  Peel off the release paper to expose the adhesive and cover with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. Brush off excess and return it to the jar. Polish the glitter into the adhesive using your fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.

  • Die cut “Love You” three more times from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Stack and adhere the die cuts with the glittered words on top to create a dimension.

Step 4 – Arrange and adhere the leves and words on the panel as shown above.

Step 5 – Adhere the panel onto an A2 size top-fold card base made from White Soft Finish Cardstock.

You can easily change the color scheme as well as the type of ink you use – pigment, dye, hybrid – for a fast and simple background that can be done within 5 minutes. (Some inks will need to be dried with a heat tool for speed.)Hope you like this idea. I will see you next time. Happy crafting!
