Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here.
Today I want to share a Christmas card with non-traditional colors using the new Gift Card Accordion die. Let me show you how I made my card.
Instructions:
Cut two 4.25″ x 5.5″ pieces of Soft Finish Cardstock and back with Double-Sided Adhesive. Cut a 2 ½” x 5″ strip of coordinating cardstock and place Double-Sided Adhesive on the front of the piece.
Cut two Gift Card Accordion pages from heavy cardstock and one page from patterned paper. Cut two Flourish Gift Frames from the adhesive-backed soft finish cardstock, making sure to roll the die through the machine diagonally for best pressure. From one of the interior rectangles left after cutting the frames, die cut the Merry Christmas sentiment. Die cut various snowflakes from the coordinating cardstock, making sure to place the die on the adhesive side of the piece. Die cut one medium rectangle from the coordinating cardstock with the Flourish Gift Frame die set.
Trim the center from the patterned paper page. Using distress ink and a blending tool, ink the Flourish Gift Frame and the sentiment. (tip: it is easier to ink delicate dies such as words by leaving them in the negative surroundings)
Remove the adhesive liner from the snowflakes and top with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine glitter. Polish the glitter into the adhesive with your fingers.
For a deeper color, color with a matching alcohol marker.
Adhere the two Flourish Gift Frames to the front and back of one cardstock page. Adhere the patterned cardstock to the second page.
Adhere the two card pages together using the side tabs. Trim off the tabs from the right page. Adhere the layering rectangle and words to the left page.
Using the Merry & Bright Clear Stamps, stamp the sentiment to view when the gift card is removed, to the right panel while the card is flat. Adhere the glittered snowflakes to the card.
Attach the two inner rectangles to each other using the tab on the Merry Christmas page.
Slide a gift card under the tabs. The card will fit in an A2 envelope for mailing.
Happy Crafting,
Summer

Great colors, wonderful project, and a really smart tip about leaving the intricate cutouts in their surroundings while inking1
Whoops…That was supposed to be an exclamation point after the word ‘inking’ (not the number 1…) The tip deserves several exclamation points, but I was restraining myself!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the tutorial. I was getting ready to do that today and I like that you laid out all the parts, so even if I’m using different papers, I can see what I’m doing. Love your card, too.
