Hi Friends,
Melanie here today to share with you a fun bookmark that I made as a gift for my mother. I have created it using the NEWLY released Peacock Feather die from Joset Designs.
As soon as I saw the new Stitched Fishtail Banners die set it screamed to me “Bookmarks!” so that is my focus with this project.
Step 1:
Back 2 different solid colors of cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet (shown: white and blue). Use the Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet on the front of a third color (green). Die cut 3 peacock feathers, one of each color.
Step 2:
Trim the white and blue feathers because you only need a tiny bit from each to create the focal portion of the feather (the ‘eye’).
Step 3:
Set up a glitter work station with a coffee filter and the Elizabeth Craft Designs Silk Microfine Glitter. Peel off the release sheet from the green feather to reveal the adhesive and cover with Go To Green Silk Microfine Glitter. Brush off the excess and put it back in the jar. Carefully polish the glitter with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.
Step 4:
Assemble the feather as shown in the photo below. Optional: Use Antique Silver Silk Microfine Glitter on the white piece for even more sparkle.
Step 5:
Using the Tags and More 1 – Lace, die cut the top portion of the bookmark. The bookmark is made with patterned paper and blue cardstock using the Stitched Fishtail Banners dies.
Step 6:
Using the same Tag die set cut two circles to reinforce the hole, one for each side of the bookmark. Tip: Back the cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape before die cutting the circles. Add die cut words ‘love you’ at an angle. Also add a ribbon of your choice.
Here is the finished project:

My sisters business is theproudpeacock and I would love to get this for her. The problem is it’s not a stamp it’s a die cut and I don’t have a die cutter. Any chance you will make it into a stamp? I love this bookmark!
I will mention this to the designers. Thank you for your interest Gail!
Stunning! I love Peacocks. This die is now on my wish list. Creative Blessings, Tracy x
Thank you Tracy!
Beautiful project Melanie! Love the colors Silk Microfine Glitter you used for the feather. Just stunning!
Joset, Thank you sweet friend. Did you by chance see Gail’s question above about the idea of a peacock stamp set? She does not have a die cut machine but loves the idea of a Peacock stamp 😉
