Pop it Ups Wednesday With Sandy – Happy Halloween

October 26, 2016

Hi, it’s Sandy Diller here with you today. We are at the end of October already but I think there is still time for one more Halloween Card. I kept this card simple, yet fun, with some flying bats and a spooky graveyard. I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card for the base and then added some great elements from Karen Burniston’s Halloween Collection.

1.  The finished size of this card is 6″ X 6″.  You will need a larger envelope because the ghost adds about an inch to the card width.

2.  Cut paper 6″ X 9″ then score at 4.5″.

3.  Using the Spiral Circle Pull Card – place die on crease lining up the alignment nubs on crease. Run through die cutting machine. I wanted the circle to be the moon so I placed my die near the top of the card but you can place it anywhere on the fold

4.  Remove die from paper and fold at crease and then back again at score line made by the die.

5.  The die will cut two tabs that keep the card closed until pulled. Shown in the white circles above. Simply tuck the fold of the card into the tabs.

6.  Using the Halloween Scene die set – cut 3 trees and 2 graveyards (for this card the paper was folded and then cut to make the graveyard a mirror image).

7.  Using the Halloween Charms – cut ghost and jack -o- lanterns (only 2 were needed so I have one for another project).

8.  Using the Clock and Gears die – cut one more moon.  This circle is the perfect size to fit on the Spiral Circle.

9.  Using Midnight the Bat – cut several bats.

10.  Using the Spiral Circle Pull Card – cut one spiral, transparent film was used here, sorry it is so hard to see on photo.

11.  Using the Halloween Clear Stamps – stamp out the “31” and cut using the oval from the Anita Frame die set.

12.  Assemble ghost, jack -o- lanterns and add eyes to bats. The graveyard pieces were edged with ink.

13.  Start adding elements to card being careful not to put the grave stones higher than the opening, so they don’t interfere with the movement of the circle.

14.  Add one tree at the right side of card so it will be under the grass line. leaving one limb hanging off the edge of the card to hang the ghost.

15.  Add the rest of the graveyard lining up pieces next to the crease but not over it.

16.  Using the Halloween Clear Stamps – stamp greeting.

17.  Add the rest of the trees.

18.  Open card to add spiral.  White is shown here so it is easier to see but transparent film was used on the card. Add a dab of strong glue under the piece that is shown by the red arrow.

19.  Add a dab of strong glue on top of the piece shown by the white arrow. Close card. Wait for glue to dry!  (the hardest part for me)

20.  When glue has dried and card is opened there will be a spiral connecting the two panels. Add bats, jack -o- lanterns and “31”.

21.  Add the cute little ghost and you’re done.

Wishing you the spookiest Halloween ever,

Sandy
