So Much Nautical Fun

January 29, 2020

Karen here today from Craftily Yours! Eek! There’s a new release today! So much fun to SEA! It’s MERMAZING! No crab! Ok, yes – there is a crab! This new release from Joset is all about the nautical and the adorable! They can be used with colored paper or colored with any medium. In today’s post, I’ve used a few techniques.

First up today is the mermazing mermaid! She is colored with Copic markers. (Hair: E23, E25; Skin: E000, E00, E11, R4, C7; Clothes: Y13, Y11, B12, R83, Y26, Y23) She is framed in a Stitched Circle Die on top of a Rounded Rectangle die. The fun sentiment is from the NEW Splish Splash Sentiments, and I added a few sequins for fun.

Well, crab. That’s right. It’s the happiest crab anywhere cut from the new Sand Crab dies. (Don’t you just love that smile??!) The sand, chest, rocks and seaweed are from the Seaweed set. The crab and chest are colored with Distress Inks in Vintage Photo, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, and Hickory Smoke with the background done with Oxides in Broken China, Faded Denim and Salty Ocean. The sand diecut is colored Antique Linen, and the gold is glittered with Light Gold Silk Microfine Glitter. I adhered the sand to the blue ocean background and cut it with an Indented Rectangles Die. Again, the fun sentiment is from the Splish Splash Sentiments Set.

Let your light shine through with this fun new Lighthouse die. It is on top of the “ocean” cut with the new Ocean Edges set. The lighthouse is colored with Copics (B93, B000, R27, Y13, B12, C1 and E41. The ocean is Distress Oxide in Salty Ocean. The whole thing is cut with the Stitched Rectangles dies. Fun!

And finally, the Whale die makes it’s appearance on top of the Ocean Edges (with each layer being a different Distress Oxide Ink). I “colored” the whale with Silk Microfine Glitter in Faded Denim and Cool Diamond. The background is cut with the Stitched Rectangles. And the whale’s tongue is a Copic Marker R4 with a smidge of R14 just in the heart. Yes – an adorable little feature of this whale is that he has a sweet little heart on his tongue.

So cute! Thanks for stopping by today. You’re S-Whale!

Craftily yours, Karen\
