Hey Everyone! It’s EK and today I am playing around with a stamp set from the Way with Words collection by Suzanne Cannon. These stamp sets have such great sentiments that make such a great focal images. Make sure you go check out the full collection before they are gone.
Step One: Trim a piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×5.5 inches. Hand stamp two of the heart images from the Love & Hearts Collection stamp set in repeating patterns in colored ink. I used Kitsch Flamingo and Seedless Preserves Distress Ink.
Step Two: Die cut the background with one of the Stitched Rounded Rectangle die set.
Step Three: Die cut two different sized banner pieces from the Diagonal Stitched Fishtails die set out of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock. Line the fishtails die cuts up with the background piece and in a stamping platform, line up the heart stamps over a background stamp. Remove the background cardstock and stamp the image onto the fishtails in black ink.
Step Four: Adhere the background to an A2 card frame using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Line up the fishtail banners and adhere them to the card frame.
Step Five: Stamp a sentiment from the Love & Hearts Collection stamp set onto some 90b Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the sentiment with the Stitched Rounded Rectangle and outline the die cut with colored ink. I used Kitsch Flamingo. Adhere to the card using three dimensional tape.
Step Six: Add some Craft Drops in Transparent Crystal to the sentiment banner. Let Dry.

Christmas may be over, but that doesn’t mean the need for a few more holiday thank you cards is done. Today I have whipped up four holiday thank notes for family members who thought of us this year.
Step One: Using Elizabeth Craft Designs Watercolor Palette, lay down a layer of color onto some watercolor paper. Each color spot has two or three different colors to create the spot.
Step Two: Die cut the color spots using both A Way With Words Flourished Christmas Minis and Flourished Christmas Minis 2.
Step Three: Using 90lb Soft Finished Cardstock, die cut A Way With Words Family four times.
Step Four: Trim a piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×5.5 inches to create four backgrounds of the cards. Blend Distress Oxides around the edges using the darkest on the outside and going lighter to the the middle. I used Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire and Speckled Egg.
Step Five: Repeat four each of the four backgrounds.
Step Six: Spray and splatter the cardstock with a silver shimmer spray.
Step Seven: Die cut the four background pieces with the Stitched Rounded Rectangle die set.
Step Eight: Using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the background to an A2 card frame.
Step Nine: Using a stamping platform, add the sentiments to the four card frames. I used both the Love & Hearts Collection stamp set and the Build Your Own Sentiments 1 stamp set.
Step Ten: Using Kids Choice Glue, adhere both the Family die cut and Minis to the four card frames.
Step Eleven: Add little heart flourishes from the Love & Hearts Collection stamp set to the four cards.

I love how each of these cards came out, looking a lot like winter with just a touch of the lingering holidays.

Hi Friends! It’s EK, and I am popping in today to share a new card I crafted using some long neglected crafting supplies and A Way with Words Butterfly Flourish. I just love how elegant the flourishes of this die set make creating something special so simple.
Step One: On a crafting mat or glass, drop three similar liquid watercolors. I used Dr. Ph Martins Hydrus (just unearthed from my moving boxes) in two shades of red and one dark pink.
Step Two: Spray the liquid watercolor with plenty of water.
Step Three: Dip a piece of Watercolor Paper into the liquid watercolor and completely saturated with color. I was able to get three dips out of the puddle.
Step Four: Heat set the watercolor paper. Then spray with a iridescent watercolor spray. I used Perfect Pearls Mists.
Step Five: Die cut the watercolor paper using the Butterfly Flourish die set. I used just the large flourish once and the small flourish twice for this step.
Step Six: Add a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive to the watercolor paper. Die cut the detailed butterfly from the Butterfly Flourish die set.
Step Seven: Peel off the backing paper to the Clear Double Sided Adhesive and add Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the detailed butterfly.
Step Eight: On a second piece of watercolor paper, die cut a frame using both the Stitched Indented Rectangle die set and Fitted Indented Rectangle die set.
Step Nine: Using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the die cut frame to an A2 card frame. Using a combination of 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive and Kids Choice Glue, add the flourished butterfly. Using Kids Kids Choice Glue add the glittered butterfly to the flourished butterfly.
Step Ten: Add a sentiment using the Love & Hearts Collection stamp set and two tones of ink. I used both Picked Raspberry and Festive Berries Distress Oxide.
Step Eleven: Adhere the two smaller butterfly flourishes. Add three drops of Pearl Rose Craft Drops and three drops of Transparent Crystal Craft Drops.
I love how this is a surprising simple this card was to create but how elegant it looks.
Let us know in the comments below what A Way With Words dies you would use with your long neglected supplies. Until then, happy crafting.
Hey Friends! It’s EK, and today I am make some unique graduation cards for a very unique time. Right now nothing feels or looks normal, so crafting a few high school graduation cards in the traditional way seemed inappropriate. So I thought, it might be fun to create a unique look for these graduates who are learning to grow up too fast. I found that designer Suzanne’s A Way With Words Be Brave Bold Yourself die set was perfect for the look for which I was aiming.
Step One: Blend some water soluble ink over WatercolorPaper trimmed to 4.25×5.5 inches. I used Distress Oxides in Victorian Velvet, Dusty Concord, and Frayed Burlap in an ombre corner to corner blend.
Step Two: Spray the Watercolor Paper with watercolor spray. I used Distress Oxide in Tattered Rose.
Step Three: Let the ink spray dry. I just love how this turned out and find the look a little romantic.
Step Four: Die cut the inked paper with the Stitched Indented Rectangle die set.
Step Five: Die cut the graduation sentiment from the inked paper with the Be Brave Bold Yourself die set. I choose to use the sentiment ‘Be Brave, Be Yourself’. The really cool thing about die cutting the way I have, is that you can make two separate cards from this one die cut. You can use the negative inked paper and the die cut works to create two unique cards.
Step Six: Using 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the inked cardstock to a piece of Lavender Soft Finish Cardstock trimmed to 4.25×5.5 inches.
Step Seven: Set the die cut sentiment back into the open spaces, and adhere the negative die cut pieces back into the open places using some Kids Choice Glue.
Step Eight: Adhere the the lavender cardstock to an A2 card frame using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive. To finish the first card, add a few drop of Transparent Crystal Craft Drops.
Here is the finished look of the first card using the negative pieces of the die cut from the Be Brave Bold Yourself die set.
Step Nine: To create the second card, die cut a second trimmed piece of Lavender Soft Finish Cardstock with the Stitched Indented Rectangle die set. Adhere the Be Brave Bold Yourself die set die cut piece onto the cardstock using Kids Choice Glue.
Step Ten: Add some heart stamping from Susanne’s A Way With Words Love & Hearts Collection stamp set using some pale purple ink. I used Distress Oxide ink in Victorian Velvet.
Step Eleven: Adhere the cardstock to an A2 card frame for the finished look.
I just adore how these two cards came out and think they will be a fun card for these special 2020 graduates. Are you creating cards for graduates this year? Are you creating a traditional looking card or are you creating a unique one to symbolize the uniqueness of these times? Let us know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting.
Can you believe it is February already? Time is flying in 2018! Although time is flying by, I have made sure to take the time to unwind and happily craft away. It feels great to create as I forget about the snow on the ground and the shorter days. Coming home when it is dark is not a problem when I think of the bright light on my craft table!
This week I created a card using a stamp from Suzanne Cannon’s Love & Hearts Collection. What a sweet quote! Would you like to make a similar card? Well, grab a cup of warm tea or coffee and enjoy the instructions.
