You’re Cool!

December 27, 2020

Hello! Welcome – Samantha here. With Christmas done for another year I wanted to share a card that stretches the use of Christmas themed dies. I’ve partnered the Jack Frost die with Cute Winter Sentiment stamp to create this fun general card perfect for any time of the year.

Card Instructions:

Step 1: Create a card front using light blue card (Card Measurement: 10.5cm x 14.5cm).

Step 2: Using white soft finish card die cut the snowy ground using Adventure Edges dies. Adhere these to the card as shown below.

Step 3: Using a different shade of light blue die cut the three snowflakes from the Snow Globe die – adhere these to the card.

Step 4: (Optional) Add machine stitched details.

Step 5: Die cut all the Jack Frost pieces and assemble him onto the card front.

TIP: I enjoy adding texture to a card – using felt material was an great way to make Jack Frost look and feel like a fluffy snowman and it die cut perfectly with Elizabeth Craft Design dies.

Step 6: Stamp the sentiment, trim and using foam tape adhere it to the card front.

Step 7: Adhere the googly eyes. Die cut additional Jack Frost buttons to use as snow drops on your background.

Step 8: Embellish with some sequins, and a twine bow. Switch out the die cut Jack Frost paper buttons for some gems/enamel dots to add additional interest to the card.

Step 9: Adhere card front to an A6 card base.

Thank you for stopping by – I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that you get some time during the holiday season to continue using these beautiful Christmas themed dies for some not so Christmassy cards.

Happy Crafting!

Samantha

It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year! Slimline Card

November 3, 2020

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. With Slimline cards quickly becoming the go to size in card making I thought I would revisit product I already had in my stash originally intended for A2 size cards. I am so happy I did. I used the Holiday Birdhouse, Adventure Edges dies and the Joyful Wishes Sentiment Stamps. Below you will find the steps to create your own It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year! Slimline Card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 7″, score at 3 1/2″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim Gold Metallic Cardstock to 3″ x 8″. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 3 – Diecut Adventure Edges (cloud die) using a scrap piece of Cardstock. Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 2 7/8″ x 7 7/8″. Place the cloud diecut on top of the blank cardstock and using a Blender Brush apply ink to the edges. I used Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass for a soft subtle sky. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Holiday Birdhouse using Gold Metallic Cardstock for the ornament cord and Glitter Cardstock for the ornament lights. Assemble using tweezers and Kid’s Choice Glue. Diecut the rest of the Holiday Birdhouse images using various colors of Cardstock and assemble.

Step 5 – Stamp Joyful Wishes sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink to the bottom of the card front.

Step 6 – Adhere the ornaments to the top of the card front using Kid’s Choice Glue. Adhere the birdhouse using Foam Tape.

I hope you will give Slimline cards a try. It can be a little intimidating at first but once you do your first one you will love the real estate this size offers you. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Smile Flower Tag

September 8, 2020

Hi there,

it’s Tanja here and I created this watercolor flower tag using the whimsical Once upon a Time Accessories die set:

Step 1: Die Cutting

  • cut out a tag with the help of the smaller tag die from the Planner Essentials 26 set and the flower, the sun and some clouds from the Once upon a Time Accessories set

Step 2: Coloring

  • normally, I use Alcohol Markers to color my die cuts and add extra shading with Distress Ink but this time I tried something different
  • color all the elements with watercolors
  • I realized that I needed some grass too so I also cut two grass borders using the Adventure Edges die set

Step 3: Assembly

  • add some color to the background of the tag with Distress Oxide Ink Tumbled Glass and a Blending Brush
  • assemble the tag using liquid glue and double-sided foam adhesive

Step 4: Sentiment Stamping and Finishing Touches

  • stamp the sentiment from the Build your own Sentiments 1 set with Versafine Deep Lagoon into one of the clouds
  • thread a piece of natural and a piece of turquoise twine through the hole of the tag

I hope you got inspired.

Hugs,

You Are Pandastic Card

June 30, 2020

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Panda’s are one of my favourite animals and I used the Panda Bear die to create today’s card. I used it along with the Bridge & Lotus and Adventure Edges Dies with the Bear Hugs Stamp set. Below you will find the steps to create your own You Are Pandastic card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/2” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim Light Green Cardstock to 5 1/2” x 4 1/2” and adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 3 – Stamp Bear Hugs sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink to the center bottom of the card.

Step 4 – Diecut Adventure Edges (Clouds) x 2using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink up the edges using any ink of your choice. I used Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass. Adhere to the card front the bottom layer using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive and the top layer using Foam Tape.

Step 5 – Diecut Bridge & Lotus in various colours of Cardstock. Assemble then adhere to card using Foam Tape for the everything except the Lotus and Leaves use Kid’s Choice Glue. A trick.

Step 6 – Diecut Panda using White and Black Cardstock. Assemble then adhere to card using Foam Tape. A tip: Place the images on your card and once you are happy with the design use Press ‘N Seal to pick up the pieces. Add the adhesive to the backside and then place on top of your card. Doing this step will ensure that your images will remain in the same place.

This can be used for many occasions by changing the sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Retirement cards

May 7, 2020

Hello everyone, it´s Sanna Lippert here again today with my May guest design team card tutorial. I needed two retiment cards for colleagues and wanted to use Elizabeth Craft Designs dies for creating them, because they have several that are just perfect for this occasion.

Here are the steps, on how to create this card:

Step 1: Take a white card base and die cut piece of additional carstock with Adventure Edges to create a DIY stencil. Then using the self-made stencil, apply yellow Distress Ink onto the background to create a cloud pattern.
Step 2: Die cut the waves and the palm tree scenery from white Soft Finish Cardstock using the Palm Trees and Ocean Edges die cut dies.
Step 3: Ink the various pieces with blue, yellow, green and brown Distress Ink tones.

Step 4: Adhere the inked pieces onto the card, starting with the waves. Use Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape for the bigger parts and Kids Choice Glue for the smaller pieces. Also, the tweezers are very helpful, when adhering (or inking) tiny pieces on place.
Step 5: Now add a stamped sentiment and sun onto the card. For this card I used the Beach Sentiments (the sun) and the Build Your Own Sentiments 1 clear stamp sets.
Step 6 (optional): Add some white splatterns onto the waves using white acrylic paint or like I did, pigment sticks and water.

I also created a second card using the exactly same steps, but instead of using the island, I used a sailboat die cut die. Sadly, this die cut die is discontinued, but I added links to altenative products into the supply list that would work on a retirement card as well.

I did the exact same steps, like on the first card, but instead of using the Build Your Own Sentiment 1 stamp set I replaced it with Ahoy Sentiments, because it better suited the boat theme. I hope you don´t mind me using a discontinued die cut die on this card? I tried to find you nice alternatives from the store and also did! You could use the Sailor´s Life stamp and die sets to create a fun sailboat image for this card or replace the boat with a hot air balloon – also listed in the supply list. Both these products would fit the theme of retirement and new adventures very well.

Like always, I´ve again recorded a star-to-finish video for you to watch. I hope you like it!

See you soon with another fun project share! Happy crafting!
xxx, Sanna

Balloon Cards

March 2, 2020

Hello everyone, it’s Sanna Lippert here again today with another card idea to share. I always keep a box of cards for various occasions ready and constantly keep on adding cards to the collection –– you never know when you need a handmade card! The cards I share today will be an addition to that particular card box.

And here is how they were made:

Step 1: Take the Adventure Edges and die cut a piece of white cardstock with the cloud edge die. Now you have a DIY stencil ready to be used!
Step 2: Place the DIY stencil onto a piece of white cardstock and wipe blue stamp ink onto the background with an ink blending tool along the edge of the cloud pattern. Move a few centimeters down and create a second row of clouds. Repeat throughout the background.
Step 3: Die cut grass from green Soft Finish Cardstock with the grass edge die. Adhere on place overlapping the layers.

Step 4: Take a piece of ModaScrap patterned paper from Fly & Scrap paper pack and die cut balloons from it. Adhere on place.
Step 5: Apply Clear Double Sided Adhesive onto a piece of light blue Soft Finish Cardstock and die cut the balloon strings and bows from it. Adhere on place.
Step 6: Stamp a sentiment with Build Your Own Sentiments 1 stamp set stamps and black stamp ink onto white Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut into a banner or use scissors for cutting. Adhere on place and the card is done.

For the option of creating glitter balloon cards, see the end of the start-to-finish video. Also the patterned paper balloon card steps are shown on this video.

I hope I could inspire you to create fun balloon cards and make several variations of them, while you are at it!

Wishing you all a great, crafty day! See you next month again!
xxx, Sanna
