Autumn is Calling

November 11, 2021

Hey Friends! It’s Ek, and today I am totally embracing all things fall. I am not gonna lie, my favorite two holidays to craft for are Halloween and Christmas, but Thanksgiving is hands down my actual most favorite calendar holiday. The idea of stoping and joining hands with the people you love and giving thanks for all that you have is something that each year always makes my heart warm. But crafting for this holiday has not always been easy. However, with the release of Joset’s die collection this fall, creating for my favorite holiday has gotten so much easier. Today I am playing with the Turkey die set, and falling right into autumn.

Step One: Die set the Turkey die set from 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Two: Using Distress Ink, blend color onto the Turkey body parts. I used Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo.

Step Three: Blend ink over the leaves and the rest of the Turkey accessories. I used Black Soot, Barn Door, Crackling Campfire, Ripe Persimmon, Scattered Straw, Shabby Shutters, and Peeled Paint.

Step Four: Using a liquid adhesive, such as Kids Choice Glue, adhere the Turkey pieces together.

Step Five: Using a black and white gel pen, fill in the eyes and add highlights.

Step Six: Die cut a background out of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock. Splatter Distress Ink in the colors of the leaves onto the background die cut. Using a piece of printed paper, such as one found in the Worn Wood paper collection, die cut it with the Stitched Rounded Square die set. Adhere both the background and the square die cut to a 6×6 inch card frame using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step Seven: Using a liquid adhesive, such as Kids Choice Glue, adhere the Turkey to the card frame.

Step Eight: Adhere the leaves around the Turkey with a liquid adhesive. Add a sentiment to the card by stamping fall themed sentiment from the Autumn Words stamp set. Finally add some Craft Drops to the card by adding fall colored Drops in Pearl Olive, Pearl Rose, and Metallic Gold.

I am so happy to have some crafting supplies that coordinate with Thanksgiving.

Let us know in the comments below what your favorite holiday is. Until then, happy crafting.

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. With Halloween around the corner and I have my last card to share using the new Witch die and a fun tutorial on how to create a moon effect. Below is the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 7” x 6”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim Watercolor Paper to 3 1/2” x 6”. Diecut Fitted Circles using Masking Paper. Apply the circle mask in the upper right hand corner. Apply Distress Oxide Ink in Wilted Violet, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. Remove the mask and spray with water. You will see the ink start to spread on the circle to create a moon effect. Let dry then adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

A Little Holiday Sparkle

October 17, 2021

Hi Friends, it’s Sandy Diller here to share a fun take on a holiday card. Which holiday? Halloween of course! I know it’s not really a holiday but it should be. I simply love the colors and feel of Halloween with the cute images and the orange, purple and greens, my favorite colors.

I had a black panel on my desk that measures 3.50″ X 8.50″. It had already been stenciled and foiled so I decided to use it. If you do not have or use foil you could always use glitter or Shimmer Sheetz. Anything sparkly will work. This is a slimline card so the finished size is 4″X9″.

Most times I do not finish the inside of a card with stamps or die cuts but this time the occasion just called for a fun stamp on the inside as well as the outside. This stamp is from the Classic Christmas Special Kit but with all the shinny stars on this card the stamp was perfect. More shinny stars were added for some sparkly fun on the inside.

I used die sets that are both old and new cutting them all out of white Soft Finish Cardstock. Then all the pieces were colored with Copic Pens but if you don’t like to color, colored cardstock could be used or some simple ink blending could be done for a fabulous result. If you are a Copic user – I highly recommend the Soft Finish Cardstock, it blends beautifully. Although you will not see a purple, green or turquoise pumpkin in the pumpkin patch the added color is just right for this card.

All the elements were added to the front of the card and then the entire panel was added to a turquoise panel that measures 3.75″X8.75″. Happy Halloween from the Autumn Words set was stamped and heat embossed to finish off the front.

Thanks for joining me today and I will see you soon – until then – stay crafty,

Sandy
