Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. I struggle with male cards and I know lots of people who do to. With the Birthday Flip Card die you just have to choose patterned paper, assemble and add a cake and your done. Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Diecut Birthday Flip Card (Base Solid) using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fold all the score lines where the diecut scored. You now have your base card.

Step 2 – Diecut Birthday Flip Card (Top and Bottom Shapes) using Patterned Paper of your choice. This is a great way to use up your stash. Adhere to top and bottom of card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 3 – Diecut Birthday Flip Card (Base Solid using only the center rectangle portion) using Patterned Paper of your choice. Trim where the score lines are so you have the center only. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Party Time (cake) using colored cardstock of your choice and (horn) using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Adhere to card using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Happy Birthday Pennants

August 31, 2022

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. I wanted to make a birthday slimline card using the words from the Birthday Flip Card die set.

Preparation:

From white cardstock, cut a slimline card base measuring 8 1/2″ x 7″. Along the 7″ side, score the card base at 3 1/2″. Cut the Happy Birthday from the Birthday Flip Card die set from colored cardstock of your choice. From the Party Time die set, cut some party hats from you favorite coordinating cardstock along with the paper fans from the same cardstock. Finally, cut a piece of twine from a coordinating color.

Instructions:
Using yellow ink and a blending brush, softly ink the center of the card.

Using black ink/paint, add splatters using a paint brush and acrylic block

String the twine across the top of the card. Be sure not to go too high as the can cause the party hats/pennants to go above the card. At thin foam tape to the pointed end of the pennants and adhere to the twine. Also at the thin foam tape to the bottom of the paper fans. The thin foam tape helps to compensate for the height added to these pieces from the twine

Adhere the Happy Birthday from the Birthday Flip Card die set. Optionally, you can add sequins to help finish the card

I hope you enjoyed creating this card with me today.

Boy Birthday Flip Card

July 31, 2022

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. My son finally reached the TEEN stage so I wanted to make him a special card for his birthday.  I really like the Birthday Flip Card die set and could not wait to give it a try.

Preparation:

From white cardstock, cut the card base and the two accessory layers from the Birthday Flip Card die set. Using the Fitted Rectangles die set, cut two rectangles out of the same white cardstock. Using the happy birthday from Birthday Flip Card die set, cut out the happy birthday from colored cardstock of your choice. From the Party Time die set, cut some confetti pieces from the same colored cardstock. Cut the balloon from the Party Time die set, cut a balloon from clear stencil material. Also cut the balloon from masking paper. I like to use full adhesive Post-It notes. Using the number tag from Planner Essentials 26 , cut out the number tag topper from scrap cardstock. Finally, cut the birthday number from black cardstock using the Planner Essentials 37 die set. I like to cut them 3 times because I adhere them together allowing for dimension to the numbers without having to use foam tape.

Instructions:
Using the tag topper die cut, stencil numbers randomly on the card layering pieces and one of the Fitted Rectangles die cuts. Also ink the edges of the pieces with the same colored ink.

Using the other Fitted Rectangle die cut, lay the balloon stencil created from the Party Time die set and adhere with low tack tape. Using the same colored ink from the previous set and in a balloon onto the rectangle. Be sure to wipe the ink off of your stencil before moving to the next step.

Using the balloon mask, lay the mask over the first inked balloon. Shift the stencil to the left to create another balloon. Ink the balloon with another ink and then clean the stencil.

Shift the stencil to the right and repeat the same process.

Once all of the stenciling is completed, use a black pen to draw in balloon strings.

Adhere the number to the rectangle

On the stenciled rectangle, stamp happy from the Sentiments 1 – Celebrations stamp set. From the happy birthday die cut, adhere be day. For the hyphen, is the knock out from the letter “A”.

Adhere the layering pieces and the stenciled rectangle to the flip card base

Fold the card base on the score lines to activate the flipping mechanism

Adhere the balloon panel to the flip card. Randomly add confetti pieces. Optionally, add white highlights to the balloon using a white gel pen. The card I now complete

My Eyes on You

July 15, 2022

Karen here with a super fun creation using dies from the new monster designs by Joset. These monsters are SO fun, and the sentiments to go with them are just perfect!

I die cut the Birthday Flip Card from 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. The die cuts and scores in all the right places to make the rest of the card so easy to make. The green flower cardstock are also cut with dies that are part of the set, and I just taped them to some pink cardstock and fussy cut a tiny edge.

All of the eyes are different eyes from the monsters. I cut them with 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock and colored the “black” in with a very dark grey copic. To make them easy to apply, I cut them all out with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive. I sometimes added a white or black gel pen dot to the middles of the eyes.

on the inside of the flip, I put one of the Monster 1s. How cute is he? The sentiment from the new Monster Hugs set, I thought, was perfect with this card!

Thank you for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen
