Bee-jewelled

May 15, 2023

Hello everyone. Jackie here today sharing a jewellery box idea made from the book box die set. inside has two compartments, one for rings and one for loose jewellery. This would also make a lovely gift idea for a special occasion.

Step One:

Start by die cutting and building both parts of the book box keeping the two part separate for now.

Step Two:

Using the picture frame die set. Die cut two sides and trim off the angled ends, make sure they fit snugly inside the book box. glue them both in position leaving a tiny gap between that will fit the rings.

Step Three:

Create a magnetic catch. Glue a small piece of metal or magnetic sheet to the inside of one of the catch ends then cover over with a piece of card fussy cut to the same shape. Fix a small magnet to the other flap.

Step Four:

Glue the book box part inside the outer cover. Die cut the bee and decorate the lid using honeycomb, gems and what ever you fancy.

Step Five:

Use the fall out honeycomb pieces to add a button to the catch flap. Stack 4 or 5 pieces together then glue in place.

Step Six:

Decorate the inside in a similar theme then add a piece of gold coloured paper to the front compartment.

There would be lots of way to change the way I have created the inside of this box, you can add more ring parts or ever change the orientation. I hope I have inspired you to make your own jewellery box.

Happy crafting Jackie xx

Stuff that matters

March 27, 2023

Hello everyone, Marjolijn here. For today’s blog post I made this box to store my tickets in. Just a cozy box on the table where I can grab a ticket if I need it. For the box I used the book box. Let me explain to you how I created this box.

I decorated this Book box with jute and incorporated an embroidery ring in which I incorporated a shaker. The sweet girl would also like to be a fairy but lacks the wings. That’s why she’s standing on a twig.

The box contains all sorts of treasures like tickets and other nice little things to process in my planners.

I made the shaker with the fuse from “we’r memerykeepers”. I cut 2 circles from a plastic cover with a round die slightly larger than the die from the craft lover set. I put the picture of the fairy in between and put some shaking material on it. Then I put the ring on it from the craftlover set and welded the circle closed with the fuse.

This way you can easily make a flat shaker without tape or foam and nothing will fall out. Doesn’t it look pretty?!

I hope my project today gave you some inspiration to make your own keep sake memory box using the beautiful Book box die from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I had so much fun creating mine and I love storing all sort of little things that I want keep in it.

Thank you for your visit!

With love,

Marjolijn.

Shaker Bookbox

June 16, 2022

Hi Everyone, Irina here! Today it is my turn to write a blog. I love shaker cards, so I decided to create a shaker part on the bookbox. I only used black and white, but I think it is very beautiful in different colors!

Let’s start!

Die cut 2 covers from the bookbox out of cardstock.

Cut one of them as in the picture below (step 1) and also cut off the lock.

– Diecut the rectangle out of that part. ( step 2 in picture above)

– Put acetate behind.

– Add double sided foamtape on the back (step 3 in picture)

– Take your other cover and put some shaker material on it ( step 4 in picture)

– Glue the part with the acetate window on it

Now make the inside part of the bookbox as usual.

Make some paperflowers and glue them around the acetate window.

Now your shaker bookbox is finished! I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by the blog. Until next time!

Xoxo Irina
