You Are Pandastic Card

June 30, 2020

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Panda’s are one of my favourite animals and I used the Panda Bear die to create today’s card. I used it along with the Bridge & Lotus and Adventure Edges Dies with the Bear Hugs Stamp set. Below you will find the steps to create your own You Are Pandastic card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/2” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim Light Green Cardstock to 5 1/2” x 4 1/2” and adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 3 – Stamp Bear Hugs sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink to the center bottom of the card.

Step 4 – Diecut Adventure Edges (Clouds) x 2using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink up the edges using any ink of your choice. I used Distress Oxide Tumbled Glass. Adhere to the card front the bottom layer using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive and the top layer using Foam Tape.

Step 5 – Diecut Bridge & Lotus in various colours of Cardstock. Assemble then adhere to card using Foam Tape for the everything except the Lotus and Leaves use Kid’s Choice Glue. A trick.

Step 6 – Diecut Panda using White and Black Cardstock. Assemble then adhere to card using Foam Tape. A tip: Place the images on your card and once you are happy with the design use Press ‘N Seal to pick up the pieces. Add the adhesive to the backside and then place on top of your card. Doing this step will ensure that your images will remain in the same place.

This can be used for many occasions by changing the sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge

December 4, 2019

Hey Friends! It’s EK Gorman, and I am sneaking in with a project just a little different than normal today. When I started card making, I viewed my cards as a little piece of art. Now years later, I haven’t really stopped thinking of my homemade cards as art, but today’s project takes that idea to a whole new level. When I saw the new Bridge & Lotus dies set from Joset, I immediately new I had to channel my inner Monet and create my own version of his Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge.

Step One: Die cut some 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock with the Bridge & Lotus die set.

Step Two: Using alcohol markers, color in the die cuts. I used copics and tried to channel colors from the original Monet piece.

Step Three: To create the background, trim a piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 5.5×5.5 inches. Then using alcohol markers fill the cardstock with color. I used copics and used geometrical diagonal lines.

Step Four: Drip colorless blend onto the colored cardstock.

**On a personal note, I just love how much color you can to Soft Finish Cardstock with your alcohol markers. This is not true of all cardstock, but I really love how Soft Finish Cardstock holds up to copic coloring.

Step Five: Using Kids Choice Glue and 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the die cuts to the background.

Step Six: Using the new Zen Sentiments stamp set, add a sentiment to your project. I double stamped my sentiment with some olive green ink.

Step Seven: Trim a piece of Soft Sky Soft Finish Cardstock to 6x12inches, and score and fold it to create a 6×6 inch card. Adhere the background cardstock to card frame using some 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

I think I really got close to capturing the soft beauty of Monet’s work on this card.

I cannot wait to use this new die set again, and see what other pieces of art I can create on my homemade cards. Let me know in the comments below, what artist you see when you look at the Bridge & Lotus die set. Until then, Happy Crafting.
