Cardmaking Paper Flowers

Live in the Moment

August 25, 2020

Karen here today sharing a card that was very fun to make as I got to get all inky to make it. The sentiment “Live in the Moment” seems to be excellent advice these days!

To create the background for this card, I used 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. I smeared some Distress Oxide in Spun Sugar on my craft mat and added some water and smooshed my paper into it. Then I did the same with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide. I finished it up with some splatters of Picked Raspberry. I cut this piece with a Stitched Rectangle die.

Then I colored up another piece of Soft Finish Cardstock with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide, add Double Sided Adhesive (101mm) and die cut the Symbol Background Die and stuck that to the card front.

Next, I die cut the flowers from the Cherry Blossom Branch with another piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock colored with Worn Lipstick. For these, I also dabbed them straight onto a Picked Raspberry Distress Ink as shown below then shaped the flowers a little.

For the leaves, I used Lucky Clover Distress Oxide. Then I dabbed them with Embossing Dabber and added some Weathered Wood Embossing Glaze. I also shaped the leaves just by pinching them together.

The branch is colored with Vintage Photo Distress ink. For the flower centers, I used Craft Drops in White. The sentiment is from the Zen Sentiments set and is die cut with a Diagonal Stitched Fishtails die.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen

Hugs And Kisses Card

July 6, 2020

Hi Everyone, It’s Tina here. Today I am sharing a card using the Cherry Blossom Branch and Parrot dies along with the Fitted and Stitched Rounded Rectangles die. Below is the steps to create your own Hugs & Kisses Card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Diecut Fitted Rounded Rectangles using Solid Patterned Paper. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 3 – Diecut Stitched Rounded Rectangles using a Leaf Patterned Paper. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 4 – Stamp Bear Hugs Sentiment using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink in the upper left corner.

Step 5 – Diecut Cherry Blossom Branch using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Colour in the pieces in any medium of your choice. I used inks with a blender brush. Assemble the Branch and adhere to card using Foam Tape. (Tip: Did you know the small Cherry Blossom die (new bud) can be used as a leaf) That is what I used behind the Cherry Blossoms.

Step 6 – Diecut Parrot using Coloured Cardstock. Assemble and adhere the parrot to the card. I used a wobble to have some dimension and movement to the parrot.

This card can be used for many occasions by simply changing the sentiment. Below you will find a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!
