Take it easy

May 26, 2022

Hi all! I have a new planner page to share with you. I’ve made the right side another time so now I need to make the left side. When I make pages next to each other I use the same colors and the same elements. For this page I used the new Special Kit ‘Suitcase’, some Planner Essentials stencils, Planner Essentials dies and the cute Octopus from Joset.

For this page I used some older dies and Planner Essentials 1 with a tab at the top. I used Paint On Denim paper for this part. Then I used the dies from Planner Essentials 29 as layer. For this piece I added some structure with the newest Planner Essentials Stencils and Distress Oxide ‘Walnut Stain’.

Before I adhere this part at the base I gave the sides some Distress Ink Frayed Burlap. All the pieces I used are inked with the same color. At the right side I added a strip from an older die.

The next step is making the suitcase. I need 2 suitcases for this card because I want to open the suitcase.

As you can see I added a blue wave at the bottom of the suitcase which is included in the kit. I made a score line in this die so you can adhere this at the back and front of the suitcase.

So back to the front. First I made some structure again the Planner Essentials Stencils and Distress Oxide Ink Stormy Sky. Then I made the boat and the suitcase straps. To close the suitcase I used a piece of hemp cord.

Then the inside of the suitcase. At the top I made a little pocket with on top the new stamp from CS269 which is in the suitcase. I also used some leftover pieces and a little tab.

At the bottom I used the same colors.

For this part I used the Octopus with his wheel and also stamp CS269. I stamped ‘take it easy’ in 2 pieces so you can make it smaller.

Before I adhere the suitcase at the page I made something behind it. I used the fishtail dies from the suitcase kit. Behind this dies I put some elements from the Reminiscene the Book 4 but also some dies which I kept from other projects, like the Photo Film Slides and the structure die.

Here you can see the whole page when the suitcase is folded out.

I hope you like this page. I had a lot of fun making this page.

Thank you for reading! See you soon!

Kind regards Lisanne Geerdink

Happy Birthday

May 18, 2022

Good Morning Friends today i have a card to share with you designed using the Volume 4 Florals Release using Florals 15.

Cutting the florals out using Soft finished cardstock, i colored them with saltwater Taffy Distress ink and the leaves with Peeled Paint

Shaping them using my shaping mat, i added some stamens to the center.  Then lightly added some snow paste on top to add more detail.

To create the dress i took a 5.75 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper and scored every 1/2 inch. Making sure to fold so that the ends were able to be folded inward. I free hand drew the top of the dress to create a tank style top and wrapped gold thread and colored seam binding to coordinate with the card.

Thank you for dropping by today, I hope i have inspired you to create some dress cards of your own.

Create a Garden Mini Album using Sidekick Essentials Planner Dies

May 10, 2022
Hello everyone, Annette Green back again today with a fun little mini album project you can create in an afternoon using three Sidekick Essentials dies, a few stamp sets, your favorite papers and some chipboard. I’ve created a video tutorial so you can follow along and hopefully make one of these yourself!
I’ve used the Sidekick Essentials 1, 12 and 16 for this album because each one has a base page to use along with very versatile embellishment pieces. I’ve used Graphic 45 papers in my stash, but really any papers will do, so I encourage you to go to your supplies you have on hand.
I ended up using images from five different stamp sets (Memorable, Paper Love, Planted with Love, Home & Nature and In My Garden) but you can use whatever you have to make this album work for you. I’ve linked everything below if you’re looking to expand your collection.
As I describe in the video, I mixed Graphic 45 collections along with 49 & Market to make a really feminine, garden-themed album, but I can imagine this album with masculine papers too. So in the video, I share the basic assembly of the base album first, then I show how I decorated it toward the end of the video. I hope you find it interesting to watch and that it inspires you to give it a try. Thanks for stopping in today.

Hakuna Matata

May 5, 2022

Hii everyone! Here Lisanne and back with a new blogpost. This blogpost will be a short post but I realy like the result.

First I made the cute Giraffe with Soft Finish Cardstock and Distress Ink. The little spots are diecut with Double Sided Adhesive at the back.

Then the background. I think it was time to use the Silk Microfine Glitter. For this card I want to create a jungle scene. So I used the Leaf background. For the base I used Soft Finish Cardstock and Double Sided Adhesive at the top so I can put Anitque Gold glitter at it.

The leaf is colored with Distress Ink.

The next step is adhere the Giraffe at the back ground. As you can see I made Jungle leaves at the top of the card. The left corner is realy empty so I decided to make the party lanterns, make a leave and a banner with Hakuna Matata at it.

So this was my short post about this card, but I hope you liked it. Thankyou for reading and hopefully see you soon.

Kind regards Lisanne

Happy Easter Interactive Mini Slimline Card

April 5, 2022

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. With Easter coming up quickly I managed to squeeze in one last Easter card. Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish to 7” x 6”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish to 3 1/2” x 6”. Apply Inks of your choice onto a Gel Plate. I used Distress Oxide in Broken China and Cracked Pistachio. Broken China on top and Cracked on the bottom. Place the Cardstock on top of the Inked Gel Plate. Remove the Cardstock and spray some water to create some faux clouds. Diecut Adventure Edges (cloud die) on scrap cardstock to use as a stencil. Apply Unicorn White Ink on top of the panel to create clouds.

Step 3 – Diecut Pull Tab (half circle die) to the panel created in Step 2. This will create the slit to be able to pull the tab. Diecut Pull Tab (thin rectangular die) to the panel created in Step 2, making sure to align with the panel diecut. Diecut Pull Tab (T shape die) & (rectangle with slight angles at edge die) using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Diecut Pull Tab (circle with arrow). Adhere to the top of the pull tab. When assembled the panel should look like the below photo. Adhere to the card front making sure to leave space around the pull tab mechanism.

Step 4 – Stamp Spring Sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink to the right side of the card front.

Step 5 – Diecut Easter Basket (eggs, flowers and leaf stems dies) in various colors of cardstock. Adhere to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 6 – Diecut Bunny various colors of Cardstock. Assemble using Kids Choice Blue. Make sure to adhere an egg to the arms of the Bunny. Adhere the Bunny to the top of the pull tab flaps.

Step 7 – Diecut Slimlne Adventure Edges using Green Cardstock. Adhere to card front using Foam Tape leaving a gap at the center where the movable egg is.

I love how it looks like the Bunny is taking an egg. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Winter Blues

December 9, 2021

Hello friends! It’s EK and I am popping in with a super simple card created using Joset’s Classic Christmas Special Kit. I just love how this all inclusive kit can easily create a whole range of stunning slimline cards.

Step One: Using three different shade of water activated blue ink, smear them onto a craft mat or glass and spray with water. I used Distress Oxide in Mermaid Lagoon, Stormy Weather, and Tumbled Glass.

Step Two: Using Watercolor Paper, smooch the ink onto the paper. Let dry.

Step Three: Trim the Watercolor Paper to the slimline card frame size of 8.5×3.5 inches. Spray with shimmer spray to create a frosted look. Using 10mm Clear Double Sided Tape, adhere the Watercolor Paper to the slimline card frame.

Step Four: Line the back of a piece of Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet and die cut the paper with the Slimline Background from the Classic Christmas Special Kit.

Step Five: Adhere the die cut to the watercolor paper.

Step Six: Blend some bright blue ink onto a piece of Soft Finish Cardstock and die cut several snowflakes from the Classic Christmas Special Kit. I used Mermaid Lagoon.

Step Seven: Rub some darker blue ink onto the snowflakes. I used Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide.

Step Eight: Using the same darker blue ink, blend some onto Soft Finish Cardstock and die cut one of the ornaments from the Classic Christmas Special Kit. Rub some gold pigment ink onto cardstock and die cut the ornament topper.

Step Nine: Stamp a sentiment from the Holiday Sparkle stamp set onto some Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut with the Diagonal Stitched Fishtails.

Step Nine: Adhere the sentiment to the card frame.

Step Ten: Adhere the ornament and snowflakes to the card frame.

I love how easy it is to create beautiful holiday cards using this all in one kit. If you are into slimline cards this kit really is perfect.

Believe

December 7, 2021

Good morning!
The holiday season is upon us and its often a time for reflecting on Christmas past!
The little guy on the photo is our oldest who is now 21 and I was almost 9 months pregnant with our youngest. I really feel sorry for Santa in this photo – his poor knee!

To create this layout:

Step 1 – Ink the edges of a 12×12 sheet, and fussy cut images or die cut images for the bottom

Step 2 – Die cut 4 poinsettia’s from cardstock, ink, mold and assemble
Step 3 – Die cut 4 poinsettia’s from double sided sheets of adhesive, use silk micro fine glitter in the die cuts then mold and assemble
Step 4 – take texture paste and make ‘snow’ on the poinsettia’s then use cool diamond silk microfine glitter on the paste to make it look more like snow.
Step 5 – assemble and enjoy

Full-on sparkly Christmas cards

December 1, 2021

Hello everyone! It´s Sanna here again with my December card tutorial. I find that sparkly cards during the holiday season are the best choice – always. Therefore I have created a set of six card with the same basic idea today, just modifying the technique from one set to another just a little bit.

For the first card I used the Classic Christmas Special Kit and started with the background die. I applied Sea Glass and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the background and then moved on to the creating the baubles.

On the baubles I used Violet, Diva and and Bright Grape Silk Microfine Glitter in combination with Yellow. I finished the baubles with Pewter bits. After finishing the baubles I added a stamped sentiment to the card using the stamp set that comes with the Classic Christmas Special Kit. For additinal decor and texture I added some Craft Drops to the baubles.

For my second card set I used the same idea, but applied all the glitter layers directly to a sheet of Clear Double Sided Adhesive and started with Spring Peridot tone for the background. Then I applied Bright Cranberry, Peony Pink, Copper Rose and Cool Diamond tones to the baubles one after another. First doing the red layers and then adding the white tone. I stamped and fussy cut the sentiment to the card and finished everything with Craft Drops again.

While I was at it, I did a blue-red-white-silver-toned card too. It´s all the same steps, just different glitter tones.

For my last set of three cards I used the same basic idea, but on a smaller piece of paper only creating one bauble per card. I changed the glitter tones on each card to create variation and die cut the bauble with the Dotted Scalloped Circle die. These are more clean and simple in style and much faster to finish, so they are easy to do in series. The sentiment is directly stamped onto the card base with black ink.

Here are a few more in single bauble ones in various colours. I also added plenty of Craft Drops to each of these cards to bring some contrast to them and to make the images pop even more.

To give you a better idea on how I made these cards, I´ve recorded a quite a long video. Hope you get inspired and play some with Silk Microfine Glitter and the Classic Christmas Special Kit. They truly are a perfect match!

As this will be my very last guest design team post, I would like to thank Els, Joset and the whole team for having me! It´s been truly a pleasure being part of the Elizabeth Craft Designs family for so many years. I´ve enjoyed every bit of it and will continue using their products in the future too. I hope to have inspired you all throught the years. If you want to see what I´ll be upto in the future, you can follow my blog and YouTube channel.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and lovely Holiday Season and thanks for a great time!!
xxx, Sanna

Die Cut Holiday Tags

November 30, 2021

Hey Friends! It’s EK and today I am popping in with some festive holiday gift tags using the new Sonia and Diane stamps and dies. These make a perfect decoration for any gift under the tree.

Step One: Add a sheet of Clear Double Sided Adhesive to the back of a piece of Watercolor Paper.

Step Two: Using a water proof ink, stamp both the floral deer from the Prosperity stamp set and the cardinal from the Peace stamp set onto the watercolor paper.

Step Three: Watercolor the images loosely. I used a combination of Distress Spray Stain and shimmer sprays to watercolor. Let dry.

Step Four: Die cut the images with the coordinating Prosperity and Peace die sets. Die cut a second cut out of 110lb Soft Finish Cardstock. Peel off the backing of the Clear Double Sided Adhesive sheet and adhere the watercolored die cut to the heavy cardstock die cut.

Step Five: Hole punch a hole into each of the assembled die cuts. Add a holiday ribbon to both to create the tag.

Step Six: Stamp sentiments onto heavy cardstock using the Noel stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in Pine Needle Distress Oxide.

Step Seven: Die cut the sentiments using the coordinating Noel die sets.

Step Eight: Using foam tape adhere the sentiments to the tag.

Step Nine: To finish the tags add Craft Drops in Pearl Rose.

What do you think? Is this a craft you think you could make for your holiday gift? Let us know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting.

Halloween Party

October 21, 2021

Hey Friends! It’s EK, and I am popping in today with a fun Halloween card. There is nothing easier than getting ready for the spooky with the festive Ilse and Charlene stamp set Halloween Party.

Step One: On a piece of trimmed 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock, stamp the cat image from the Halloween Party stamp set in the middle of the page using alcohol friendly ink. Add a piece of masking tape over the stamped image. Stamp other images onto the cardstock to finish the scene.

Step Two: Using an alcohol friendly ink pen, draw a simple line to ground the scene so that the cat and pumpkins look like they are on a table and the witch is standing behind it.

Step Three: Using alcohol markers, color the scene. I used my copics.

Step Four: Fill in the negative space with stencil work. I used the Pattern Stencil Pack and Distress Oxide in Crushed Olive. Add more ink around the edges of the card removing the white sections.

Step Five: Add some Craft Drops around the sentiment. I used both Pearl Olive and Metallic Gold.

I hope today’s project is making your as excited about Halloween as I am. Make sure you pop over to the store and pick up this stamp set before it is gone since at the moment you can acquire it at an amazing sale price.

Do you like crafting for Halloween. Let me know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting.
