Peace, Love, Joy Mixed Media Tag

December 22, 2020

Hi there,

It’s Tanja here and today I would like to show you how to create this Mixed Media Christmas Tag.

Step 1: Die Cutting

  • die cut the smaller tag from the Planner Essentials 26 from kraft cardstock

Step 2: Adding Texture to the Background

  • adhere tissue paper to the tag using matte medium
  • apply crackle paste at random spots
  • add some Distress Stain Tarnished Brass for extra shine

Step 3: Stamping

  • stamp the branches from the Spring Fling set with Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves and heat-emboss them with WOW! Clear Matt Dull embossing powder
  • ink up the edges of the tag with Distress Oxide Ink Ground Espresso

Step 4: Finishing Touches

  • dye a piece of torn seam binding with Distress Oxide Ink Ground Espresso
  • stamp the sentiment from the Classic Christmas Sentiments with that same brown ink onto a strip of kraft cardstock
  • add some splatters with watered-down white acrylic paint

I hope you got inspired.

Hugs,

Rusty Artist Trading Card Duo

April 21, 2020

Hi there,

It’s Tanja here and today I would like to show you how to create this Rusty Artist Trading Card Duo.

Step 1: Creating the Background

  • cut a 10” x 15” piece of patterned paper from the Rusty Weathered paper pad
  • add white liquid acrylic paint and some Alcohol Inks for an even rustier look
  • cut the panel into two halves

Step 2: Adding more Texture

  • adhere some torn washi tape to random areas
  • apply Prima Marketing Texture Paste Platinum Crackle through the Story Telling and Make your Mark stencils
  • stamp the large elements from the Words and Layers stamp set with Versafine Clair Fallen Leaves
  • ink up the edges with Distress Ink Ground Espresso and heat-emboss them with Distress embossing powder Vintage Photo

Step 3: Finishing the Project

  • adhere the panel to a slightly larger piece of kraft cardstock
  • add the sentiments – one is from the Words and Layers set and one is from my vintage typewriter stash

Stay safe.

Hugs,
