Floral Love

April 24, 2021

Hey Everyone! It’s EK, and today I am bringing your a little project featuring two different stamp sets from Susanne Cannon’s A Way with Words collection. One of my hands down favorite dies from this collection is the Love Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament. Despite being a holiday die set, that ornament is so very versatile. I thought I would play around with it today and make a very spring card!

Step One: Die cut the ornament from the Love Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament die set from some craft glitter paper.

Step Two: Rub some purple ink onto a slick surface, spray with water, and smooch with Watercolor Paper. I used Distress Oxides in Milled Lavenders and Seedless Preserves. Dry the paper.

Step Three: Die cut twice the flowers and floral outline from the Wreath & Elements die set. Try to place the outline dies on the darker parts, and the flower base on the lightest.

Step Four: Repeat step two, but rub green inks instead. I used Distress Oxide Pine Needles and Bundled Sage.

Step Five: Due cut the floral stems two times from the green smooched watercolor paper.

Step Six: Repeat step two once more to create the base of the card. I used Distress Oxides in Dusty Concord and Stormy Sky, and managed to get two prints from it. Adhere one of the prints onto an A2 card frame.

Step Seven: Using a liquid adhesive, adhere the ornament onto the background. I used Kids Choice Glue.

Step Eight: Adhere three of the flowers into the ornament letting them over lap.

Step Nine: From the bonus background print, die cut a sentiment from the Love Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament die set. I used the word love.

Step Ten: Adhere the sentiment and final flower onto the card frame.

Step Eleven: Add a few drops of Craft Drops in White around the sentiment. Let dry.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I created a soft pastel floral spring card using my holiday Love Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament die set. Let us know in the comments below if you use your holiday die sets in the off season. Until then, happy crafting.

Butterfly Flourish

February 27, 2021

Hey Friends, it’s EK. There is nothing I love more when die cutting when I can make two cards with one cut. I adore when you can use both the positive and negative of the die cut to create two coordinating and yet seperate cards. I think they make great little gifts. Today I am creating two cards using Suzanne’s Butterfly Flourish die set.

Step One: Trim a piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×5.5 inches. Blend ink onto the cardstock. I used Dusty Concord, Victorian Velvet and Tattered Rose Distress Inks.

Step Two: Die cut the cardstock using the large and small butterfly from the Butterfly Flourish die set. Save all the die cut pieces.

Step Three: Die cut the cardstock again using the Stitched Indented Rectangle die set. Save the boarder die cut.

Step Four: Using 10mm and 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive adhere the negative die cut to an A2 card frame.

Step Five: Place the large positive butterfly die cut back into the frame. Using liquid adhesive, glue the excess die cut pieces back into the empty spaces. I used Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step Six: Carefully lift the positive die cut out of the adhered sections.

Step Seven: Using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the extra piece of die cut from the frame onto the edges of a second A2 card frame. Using liquid adhesive, adhere the butterflies. Spray both cards with a clear shimmer craft spray. I used Sheer Shimmer Spray in Frost.

Step Eight: On both card frames stamp a sentiment from Suzanne’s Soar Collection stamp set in a coordinating ink color. I used Dusty Concord Distress Oxide.

Step Nine: Add White Craft Drops to both cards. Let Dry.

Here is the finished card using the positive butterfly die cut and the negative frame die cut.

Here is the card using the negative butterfly die cut and the positive frame die cut.

Let me know in the comments below which of the two cards is your favorite. Until then, happy crafting.

Joy Gift Tag

August 1, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Joy Gift Tag.

To create my Joy Gift Tag, I’ve used a variety of dies and stamps from Suzanne Cannon as well as Els van de Burgt Studio. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my gift tag at home.

Step One. From the Planner Essentials 26 – Planner Pocket 3 – Tag & Toppers die, die cut the small tag out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Two. Choose a couple of the snowflakes from the Christmas Collection stamp set. Apply Emboss It Ink to the snowflakes and stamp randomly on the tag, reapply ink as needed, you’ll need a total of fourteen snowflakes. Sprinkle Forever Platinum Modern Gilding Powder over the stamped images. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Die cut a 2 1/2″ Stitched Circle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. From the Love Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament, die cut the ornament out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the entire surface of the ornament. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the ornament. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Five. From the Love Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament, die cut the joy word out of White Soft Finish Cardstock and black cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the entire surface of the white Joy word. Sprinkle Forever Platinum Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the word. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Six. Die cut the Snowflake from the Flourished Christmas Minis 2 out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the entire surface of the snowflake. Sprinkle Forever Platinum Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the snowflake. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Seven. Adhere the ornament to the stitched circle. Foam square the stitched circle 1/4″ from the right and 1 1/8″ from the bottom of the tag.

Step Eight. Adhere the snowflake to the middle of the ornament. Adhere the Joy embossed word slightly to the right overtop of the black cardstock Joy word, this will create a shadow in behind the embossed Joy word. Use foam squares to adhere the Joy word to the bottom right corner of the tag.

Step Nine. Tie a bow at the top of the tag with a piece of black twine. To finish off the tag, use White Craft Drops to add dots to the snowflake as desired.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Joy Gift Tag.

Thank You Tag

May 2, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Thank You Tag.

To create my Thank You Tag, I’ve used a variety of dies from Suzanne Cannon as well as a die from the Planner Essentials Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my tag at home.

Step One. Die cut the large tag from the Planner Essentials 26 – Planner Pocket 3 – Tags & Topper die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the butterflies from the Butterflies & Stars Spray out of a piece of scrap cardstock. Place the now created stencil on the tag as desired. Place VersaMark Ink through the stencil. Sprinkle Armenian Pink Modern Gilding Powder over the stenciled image. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Two. Die cut two wreaths from the Wreath & Elements die out of Watercolour paper. Using the Watercolours from the Watercolor Palette, colour one wreath using the Deep Green colour and a waterbrush. Colour the other wreath in using the Sap Green colour and a waterbrush.

Step Three. Die cut the Thank You from the Thank You 2 die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply VersaMark Ink to the entire surface of the sentiment. Sprinkle Celtic Mint Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the sentiment. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Four. Die cut five plain flowers from the Wreath & Elements die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut five cut out flowers from the Wreath & Elements die out of Watercolour paper. Using the Watercolours from the Watercolor Palette, colour three of the cut out flowers using the Rose colour and a waterbrush. Colour the remaining two cut out flowers using the Pink colour and a waterbrush. Adhere all five cut out flowers to all of the five plain flowers.

Step Five. Adhere the two wreaths together, making sure that the leaves on each leaf slightly overlap one another. Use foam squares on the top and bottom of the wreaths to adhere the wreaths to the middle of the tag.

Step Six. In the top left side of the wreath, adhere a rose colour and a pink colour flower as desired. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the Thank You sentiment to the middle of the wreaths. Adhere the remaining three flowers to the bottom right side of the wreath.

Step Seven. With all the elements on the tag, cut the tag down to 5 1/2″. Tie a twine bow through the top of the tag. To finish the tag, add three Craft Drops in White at the bottom left of the tag. Add another two dots to the bottom right side of the tag and then another two dots to the top right side of the tag.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Thank You Tag.
