Hi Everyone,
Welcome to Sunday Stamping with Hedgehog Hollow on the ECD blog. I am so excited to be a guest blogger. First of all let me introduce myself. My name is Alexandra and I run a crafty blog called Hedgehog Hollow, I am a British mummy who recently moved to Ohio, blogging about my adventures on this side of the pond along with our Prickle’s crafty exploits! I will be here once a month with a full video tutorial on cardmaking techniques. Each video will have lots of tips and tricks and a few hacks along the way to give you the most from your crafty budget. ECD even created this wonderful graphic for me to add to our monthly posts…
I love the new trend of layered die cuts, however, they end up being so pricey once you have bought all the layers. So, of course I decided to create my own and the ECD Chevrons Background die was perfect for this technique as would the Diamond Background die. Here are the cards we are going to create in today’s tutorial. I chose a 4th of July theme but you could use any color combination, or amend the sentiment for a birthday or anniversary as the colors are great for a masculine card (something I always find a bit tricky)…
Isn’t it surprising how using the same three colors in a different order come out with such a different effect? These are super simple cards, your die cutting machine does all the work for you! Here is a step-by-step video tutorial on how to create your own layered die cuts…
If you wish to use the Diamond Background, cut it down the middle and offset each half for the perfect layered effect. I have so many ideas with this die that it will definitely be featured in a future post, so stay tuned to the ECD blog and Hedgehog Hollow for more ideas and some of my favorite tools from today’s tutorial. For today, here is your ECD supply list for the tutorial. We have an exclusive Hedgehog Hollow discount code on our crafty sale page, too…
