Two Cards from One Background

I created only one background piece with a heat embossing and inking technique, and with a clever trick I got two cards out of the one background piece.

Hello to all !!!

Welcome to the ECD blog!!! This is Anita here.

Card making can be such a relaxing hobby and especially if you have beautiful dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs to beautify your projects. A huge range of craft dies has been released this month and I must say all of them are awesome !!!! You can check them out here.

For my card today, I have created a vibrant background using the ever popular Distress Oxide inks and have combined the poppies with a lace die. The vibrant and the bold poppies against the lacy die looks very beautiful.

Feather Trio

 It’s been a long while since I’ve been the guest designer on our blog. It’s fun to be in my studio for two whole weeks instead of on the road. Today’s project is my way of celebrating the new Feathers die set as well as Tim Holtz’s brand new Distress Oxide inks – a great combo!

The Distress Oxide inks are just amazing. I love how they respond with water, how you can combine colors without messing up, and how easy it is to get terrific results. I used them for a spattered looking background on my card as well as for the banner and feathers.
