Hello & Welcome! Samantha here. Today’s card is one of those cards that once you’ve put it all together, you love it so much you’d rather frame it then give it away! Well that’s how I feel about it anyways…

Card Instructions:

Step 1: Use both the Frame It – Stitched Rectangle and Frame It – Stitched Square die as shown below to create a ‘photo’ frame die cut.

Step 2: Stamp the Sentiment.

Step 3: Using shades of green cardstock and pattern paper die cut several leaves from Tropical Florals and Trio of Leaves.

Step 4: Arrange the leaves on a card front measuring 12.5cm x 17.5cm. When you are happy with the placement of the leaves adhere them down. Use foam tape to adhere the ‘photo’ frame die cut.

(Optional) Add machine stitched details

Step 5: Die cut the zebra and Giraffe die – assemble these as shown, tucking them behind the ‘photo’ frame die cut.

Step 6: Adhere Double Sided Adhesive to white card stock and die cut the hat and glasses from the Party Accessories die set.

Step 6: Remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer and apply a generous amount of Silk Microfine Glitter (in Royal Blue and Fruscia). Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle. Complete assembling the party accessories.

Step 7: Adhere the Party Accessories to the die cut animals. Adhere card front to a 5″ x 7″ card base. Embellish with googly eyes, sequins and a twine bow.

I love how this card came together – I think I’m going to have to buy a frame for it! The safari animals are that cute, I don’t think I could part with the card. Do you have projects that you end up just keeping for yourself?

11 Gifts For Mom On Mother’s Day!

A very Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful mother’s out there!

Today gives us such a wonderful opportunity to honor the women in our lives who raised us, praised us and made us who we are. They certainly have been a huge and important part of our lives!

Along with our Design Team, we put together 11 projects for mom on Mother’s Day –– enjoy!

To honor my mother, this background with the windmill pays tribute to her PA ‘Dutch’ heritage, and she loved tulips! I’ve put the tulips in Susan’s Garden Watering Can, which has a Mandala geometric pattern of ‘dots’ which are done by Tibetan Buddhists called ‘Dkyil-khor.’ This literally means ‘ that which encircles a centre.’ My dear friend, fellow stamper and tole painter, Barb Pelak, was kind enough to do a pattern on the Watering Can for me! I colored my tulips to match her colors in the pattern.
Happy Mother’s Day mom. Miss you lots!

Krista Schneider Soft Finish Cardstock Stamping

Mother’s Day Fashion

Hey everyone! It is EK here and with Mother’s Day just around the corner (it is May 12th, just in case you missed the memo)! I thought I would whip up a super simple mother’s day card for all the fashionable mothers out there.

My mother is the woman who has most influenced my fashion choices through life and I thought this card would be a super fun way to stay thank you to her this for teaching me how to be a lady.

To create this fun mother’s day card, I pulled out Krista Schneider’s Fashions 2 stamp set and a collection of Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step One: Trim a piece of 12×12 White Soft Finish Cardstock to 6×6 inches. In copic friendly black ink, stamp out the images from the Fashions 2 stamp set.

Step Two: Color in the images with a collection of alcohol markers. I used copics. For the green I used YG61, YG63, and YG67.

Step Three: For the red areas I used R32, R35, R37, and R39.

Step Four: The white/beige sections were colored with E40, E41, and E43.

Step Five: The few blue areas were colored with B91, B93, and B95.

Step Six: Give each image a glow tracing the outside of each colored area using the white/beige markers. I used E40, E41, and E43.

Step Seven: Die cut the colored images with the largest Stitched Squares die.

Step Eight: Trim a piece of Dusty Lavender Soft Finish Cardstock to 12×6 and score it and fold the cardstock to create a 6×6 inch card frame.

Step Nine: Die cut a piece of Celadon Green Soft Finish Cardstock with the largest Stitched Squares die set.

Step Ten: Adhere the green die cut crooked to the card frame with some 6mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Adhere the stamped and colored cardstock over the green crooked as well.

Step Eleven: Place a sheet of Clear Double Sided Adhesive onto the back of Dusky Lavender Soft Finish Cardstock. From the Words 3 Holidays, die cut the sentiment so that the adhesive is onto the back of the die cut words.

Step Twelve: Stick the words onto the finished card.

For all you mothers out there, Happy Mother’s Day. For all you daughters out there, remember to thank you moms for the lessons they taught you. And to my mother, thank you for teaching me to always dress like a lady.

Beautiful hydrangeas, “Water Vessels”

Hello, this is Diane here with a card for you!

Flooding season has officially arrived here and this year it’s been awful, even more than usual. Reading on the hydrangea, I learned that the name is derived from Greek and means ‘water vessel’, which is in reference to the shape of its seed capsules. With this post, I wish to extend my compassion to everyone who feels heartaches having to deal with an infuriated Mother Nature and I’m offering them those mini water vessels.

Here are the steps to make this card:

Step 1: Card base

Use a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock, 12 X 6, folded in half to make a 6 X 6 card.
With a purple patterned paper, cute a square piece 5 1/2 X 5 1/2.

Die cut a circle with the the largest die of the Dotted Scallop Circles (#1172) dies set, in a purple cardstock.

Die cut a second circle with the the second largest die of the Stitched Circles (#1116) dies set, in a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock

Using the same purple cardstock as for the first circle, die cut the Flower Lace 2 (#1383).

With some Double Sided Adhesive Tape and some Kids Choice Glue, adhere all the layers on top of each other, like shown in the next picture.

And here’s the final card base:

Step 2 Hydrangea

Using the die set Garden Notes Hydrangea 2 (#1293), die cut 6 times the center that will be use for the base of each of the three flowers, in a green cardstock.
With the medium size ball stylus (from the 4 Pieces All Metal Tool Set), on the Molding Pad, create a dome with each of the 6 pieces.
Glue the bases two by two, using a toothpick and some Kids Choice Glue, to get 3 final center pieces.
Cut the stem off, we do not use them for this card.

Ink up some White Soft Finish Cardstock using some Oxide Ink, (here I used some Dusty Concord), dabbing very lightly the dauber on both side of the cardstock.
Die cut the 4 times the plate of little flowers on the inked cardstock.

Shape the little flowers on a Molding Pad. with the smallest ball stylus, wrong side up, on each of the 4 tips of the flowers.
Turn the flowers on the right side and cup up with the same stylus.

Glue the green domes on the card base and had the little flowers to cover the domes.
With a make-up applicator, had some shading in the heart of some flowers, with the Bright Yellow Green Shades Pan Pastel.
Add a very small touch of glue here and there in some centers of the flowers and sprinkle some small green prills.

Using some green cardstock, die cut the leaves 5 or 6 times each.
On the Leaf Pad, with the leaf tool, draw some vein on the wrong side.
Bent the leaves and add some Bright Yellow Green Pan Pastel on the vein with a make-up applicator.
Add some shading with a dark green ink on the edges of each leaf.
On the Molding Pad, give some dimension to the leaves by rubbing them on the tip with the medium ball stylus.
Glue them on the project.

Love With Calla Lilies

Good morning!

Kathy here from the Elizabeth Craft Design Team, showcasing Susan’s Calla Lily, from her latest release.

What a beautiful flower, coming in so many different colors. Besides the white one, I’ve colored the two others to look like a Flame and a Garnet Glow Lily.

The background was done on photo paper with Brusho powders, and a thin layer of green card stock.

The Lilies are arranged in the Garden Notes Pottery Pitcher (1294). I found paper already embossed. Moss was added, and the ‘Love’ die from Suzanne Cannon (1165). Of course, the wonderful ladybug!

Hello crafters! The Garden Notes flowers are a perfect decoration for creating cards or frames for a friend. This is Luciana today and I designed a card with a Garden Notes – Cosmos die set .

Here is the step-by-step tutorial:

Step 1: Card base

Use a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock, 12 X 6 , folded in half to make a 6 X 6 card. Using some Clear Double-Sided Adhesive Tape, to adhere on the card a square 5 3/4 inches of watercolored White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step 2: Forsythia

Cut out two sets of the Garden Notes – Forsythia dies, from the White Soft Finish Cardstock. You will need two layers of only one of the two branches of the set.
Color all the pieces as showed below.
Use the smallest ball tool and the molding pad to add a curly on the inner part of the branches, and on each petal of the flower.
Use the Kids choice glue to adhere the two layers of the branch and all the flowers on it.

Step 3: Cosmos

Cut out six sets of the Garden Notes – Cosmos dies, from the White Soft Finish Cardstock (except the stem).
Color all the pieces as shown below.

Use the loop tool and the molding pad to add a texture on all the petals.
Add a ripple on the paper, using the ball tool.
Wrap the pistils with the tweezers
Use the Kids choice glue to adhere the two layers of petals and the pieces of the pistils.

Step 4: Leaves

Add the vein to the leaves, using the leaf tool and the leaf pad. And then with the ball tool and the molding pad add more curving details. Use all the several leaves from different Garden Notes Sets.

Step 5: Sentiments

Die cut the word “just” from the Die set – Words 2 – Thinking of You, and the word “happy” from the set A Way With Words, Happy Birthday 3, both in a White Soft Cardstock, and then color them with a brown color.

Use the Garden Notes – Frame It/ Stitched Circles set in the White Soft Cardstock, to create a frame for a your picture.

Step 6: Assemblage

Arrange and adhere the flowers and leaves as shown below.

Planting Happy Thoughts With The Fuchsia!

Good morning –– Kathy here from the ECraft Design Team! Today I’d like to showcase another of Susan’s releases –– the Fuchsia. I created this on a 6”x 6” card with a 51/2”x 51/2” top layer, with a thin gold foil border behind it.

The Fuchsia is a very interesting and beautiful hanging flower, coming in bold colors, or all soft shades.

They are planted in the Garden Notes ‘Potted’, using Seth Apter’s Chunky Rust embossing powder. (I cut the pot down a bit to better fit on this card). They’re hanging over a window, the Garden Patch.

I knotted 3 pieces of twine and put them through 3 small holes I punched in the pot and secured them behind the 1st layer to make a ‘hanging’ pot.

The words are from the stamp set ‘Little Words Mean A Lot.’

Krista Schneider Soft Finish Cardstock Stamping

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I have a sweet card to share with you using the Honey Bear Stamp and die set from Krista Schneider. Below you will find the steps to make your own card… Just Bee-Cause. 🙂

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Stamp Honey Bear images on White Soft Finish Cardstock using Amalgam Ink. Color images using alcohol markers. Diecut images with matching dies.

Step 3 – Diecut Garden Notes – Frame It – Stitched Ovals using White Soft Finish Cardstock, then 1 die smaller using Dark Chocolate Soft Finish Cardstock. Adhere the branch and bear image slightly under the Dark Chocolate Cardstock. Adhere the panels to the card front Dark Chocolate first and then White using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Adhere the bees and butterfly.

Step 4 – Stamp Bee Sentiment Clear Stamp to the card front.

Creating Spring Tags For Gift-Giving

Hi everyone!

It’s Sara here today. I have a new project for you to celebrate Spring. These tags are made from a recycled paper and die cut with Planner Essential 2 –– they are perfect for all of your Spring giving!

These are the steps to make them:

Distress the tags a little bit (as you like it –– this is not necessary)
Stamp the flowers from Color My Flowers stamp set with Antique Linen Distress Ink and watercolor them (I’ve used a no-line technique but you can do as you prefer)
Once you have all colored, die cut them all and add a drop of Nuvo Crystal Drop in the center
Stamp your sentiment from the Spring Sentiments stamp set
Die cut the leaves from a piece of vellum using the Leafy Branch 3 die
Add all your pieces with glue and mounting tape to create dimension and interest
Finish your tags with a piece of rope or ribbon
