“Forever” Father’s Day Card

June 10, 2022

Happy Friday, Marla here on the ECD Blog. With Father’s Day approaching in the United States, I thought it would be the perfect time to create a masculine card. As I was selecting products for my project, I noticed I had many floral designs to choose from, but what about the men in my life? I settled on the largest bird from the “Forever” stamp set because I thought a handwritten note inside saying “thank you for teaching me to fly” would make a meaningful Father’s Day card. Let’s jump into it.

  1. Stamp and watercolor the bird using watercolor cardstock. Once finished, use the coordinating die to cut out your image.
  2. Cut a rectangle from watercolor cardstock and ink blend water reactive ink onto the background. Place the “Rocks” stencil over the top, be sure to use spray adhesive on the stencil to make sure it’s secure and spritz with water. Lightly tap the excess water off using a paper towel.
  3. Cut a larger rectangle to border the stenciled rectangle. Add ink or watercolor around the edges.

4. Using a colored piece of cardstock cut a third rectangle using the ECD “Leaf Patterned Background” Die.

5. Stamp your sentiment onto ink blended or colored cardstock and either die cut or use your trimmer to cut the sentiment to fit your card.

6. After adding foam tape to the back of your bird adhere it to the front of your card and tuck your sentiment in to fit.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope this inspired you to use the “Forever” birds on your masculine cards. Until next time…. Marla
